Hi guys, I'm just in the throws of buying a used Dell 3007WFPHC 30" LCD, it runs at the native 2550x1600 which is what I'm after and a response time of 11ms. I was hoping someone who already owns one could offer an opinion for it's use with FSX. Help as always, appreciated, cheers.

Hi all I am toyin with the idea of a Matrox dual head 2 go. Will it have any impact on FPS. I currently run 2 monitors but if i open a second VC view it hurts my FPS. Does DH2G fool my GPU into thinking i just have one big monitor therefor not hurting FPS.Alan

I posting this topic here because this closest forum related to this device that I could find at this website. I wear glasses and I don't have track ir and I use the mouse to pan, throttle, and instruments, and use my left hand for the joystick and it actually works well for me, faster and more precise than using the hat switch on my joystick to pan. I've been considering getting Track IR but one thing that is stopping me is that I wear glasses and I understand that with Track IR I move my head but not my eyes. Problem is that if I move my head down and keep my eyes on my monitor I see above my frames and not through my glasses which then I can't see well this way. A…

  4. I have been running FS2004 on an ancient DELL XPS-4 for 5 years now very happily with three DELL LCDs (1x24" Ultrasharp and 2x20.1" 4:3 ratio screens) and a Triplehead2Go. If I now buy a new gen PC, say, an i2600K with nVidia GTX 580 or 590 card, can I continue to use Triplehead2Go and run all three screens? I think the max res under my TH2G is 3840x1024. Or should I be thinking about a completely different video/visual arrangement by now? What would work best with FSX for multi-screen or an amazing resolution on a biggish screen? Appreciate any advice, thanks! JS

Hello all! It's about time I got a better monitor for the NGX. My current one is a modest 19" sq. 4:3 (1280x1024)!!! BenqSeems the world has gone to wide screen but I'm pretty sure my desk will not accommodate much more than a 23-24" model, as there's also another 15" screen there for my client PC.I don't really understand what the specifications mean in relation to gaming.Anything you guys can outline for me, as to what works best for FSX followed by other games, I'd appreciate.Cheers!

Hello to all. I would like to ask you for advice about nvidia inspector. I've been using this tool since the begining. Never had any problems. 2 days ago I did reinstall my windows. Installed every driver from the manufactory site. I have nvidia GTS250 card. Downloaded the latest inspector, puted it in D:/nvidiainspector (all the 3 files). Open the tool, type MS FLIGHT, choose FS2004, hit the "show the settings and..." and change the settings as Nick's tutorial (can find it on the net). Then i hit "APPLY" and every setting goes to default. It can't be stored or saved. I run it as admin, I have full control of the folder where the inspector is.Any Help will thankful.

I have the TH2GO Digital Edition running at 5760x1080 on 3 x ACO e2243Fw 21,5" screens with the latest firmware, Powerdesk utility and video driver. My problem is that the graphics in each monitor do not fill out the frame. And this gives me 3 seperature pictures when I use my FSX.If I use another resolution 3840 x 1024 the monitors are filled out with graphics. But the picture seem to be stretched too much in the horizontal direction. When I use only one of my monitors I get a fine filled out picture in 1920x1080. So my monitors are capable to do 1920x1080 each. Can Matrox TH2GO (Digital) handle this? Why does TH2GO only fill out the right 4/5 of my monitor and leave the …

Hi guys -Just picked up a 1080p 60hz LED TV to use a computer monitor for FS & Gaming - Didn't come with any cables to hook up to PC - Luckily I found an old VGA cable in a drawer. Seems to be working fine - but images don't appear as sharp as they could. Will I notice a significant difference if I go buy an HDMI cable ? Keep in mind my Vid card has an miniHDMI port.

I am using an EVGA GTX 275 with FS9 The default settings are factory set to 648/1458/1188. It's easy to overclock (with everything synced) to 680/1520/1188 which is a 5% overclock. I can experiment with going higher, but my question is whether I even need to bother with overclocking for FS9? Will it make any difference, and if so in what way (cloud draw, etc.)? My specs are in my sig. and thanks for your thoughts.

  12. Hi fellow simmers, inspired by Word Not Allowed's effort to pinpoint a problem with his clouds by offering comparison screenshots,I started to search for a tool that we all could use for a much more detailed under the hood analysis of a certain situation, so maybe we could find solutions togetherand make the sim better for all of us!To make it short, I've found something that will show you in detail everything that's happening on your screen. The name of the tool is DX Explorer, kudos to Matt Stentiford the developer! You get all possible information like the number of triangles, DX calls, draw calls, used textures, used version of pixel and vertex shaders, you can fiddle ar…

I am currently running a Core 2 Duo E6850 @ 3.0 ghz and a NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT. It looks like the video card has bit the dust. Could someone please recommend a new video card to buy, bearing in mind that I am considering updating to a i5 2500K within 12 months time. I would prefer to stay with Nvida. Budget is around $200 or so, maybe more or maybe less. I mainly fly FSX. Many thanks for any input.

Hi guys,I´m recently suffering of a very strange issue: My RAM usage (the CPU RAM, not the GDDR) goes suddenly up to arround 90% with spikes to 100%. It is absolutely random and I used ProcessExplorer to find the culprit but everything is all right, no thread which could cause that usage. But lately I got this problem while I was flying and FSX crashed cause of ntdll.dll.I know that ntdll.dll is one of the core dll´s of Windows NT. But as I´m only suffering from this since lately and I have nothing changed anywhere so i came across the idea, that a problem with the grafics driver could cuase such a behaviour. I´m using 285.62 WHQL. Could anyone confirm that the grafics d…

Hi,As my signature says, GTX 320 1024MB (upgrading soon), well, that upgrading, I'm gonna do today. But before regretting any decisions I make, I thought, let's just ask some last advice. Because, I STILL can't decide which graphics card to buy. I use my PC for FSX only, other gaming I do on my PS3. Since I few weeks, I had already decided that I was gonna buy an EVGA GTX 580 DS Superclocked. But now, I'm starting to doubt again, after reading some topics, where Ryan said that anything from the GTX 460 to the GTX 580 will perform pretty much equally in FSX. Well, I don't know if that's true. DId anyone upgrade from a GTX 460 to the GTX 580 and noticed any performance in…

I notice some flickering in textures on the aircraft fuselage (PMDG 747). I have a GTX 260 and my computer specs are listed in my signature.I'm wondering if I would notice any improvement with an upgraded video card.My cpu is not overclockable, and i'm maxed out on the sliders.I recently had some problems with CPU overheating, but I fixed that by redoing the heatsink paste.Any suggestions welcome.Ron

I'm in the market for a new card to replace my GTS250 that came with my computer. Originally i was in market for something under $150 and figured i would get a 1GB GTX 550TI. However I decided to spend a little more and now looking at GTX560.I have found a 2GB GTX550-ti in the same price range as the 560, the question i have for all the experts here is which card would give me the best performance in FSX? Will the extra Gig on the 550 really help or am i better off going with a GTX 560?here are the cards I'm looking at.http://www.tigerdire...6682&CatId=3669http://www.tigerdire...p?EdpNo=1308178My basic system specs are i5-270 2.0ghz w/4gb ram. and 650w PS.

  21. I recently upgraded from a three 4 x 3 monitor setup using an analog TH2G to the digital TH2G and three 16 x 9 monitors. About two years ago I upgraded computer to a AMD Phenom II X6 1090T with 4GB RAM but retained an older ATI 4870 x 512K video card. Knowing that FSX is not terrible dependant on video card, would there be any advantage to upgrading video card to something newer with more memory?

Hey guys, I'm currently running FSX on a 24" 1920x1200 LCD, and a very nice setup it is too. However, in the future, when I have some dosh (whenever) I want to go to a three monitor setup, in the meantime I want to utilise an Acer 17" LCD which I've had hanging around my sim pit for the past twelve months. Today I decided to drop the 9" Lilliput monitor which I use for the GPS (anyone want to buy it drop me a PM) in favour of this larger screen. After hooking it up and dragging the FOs panels across from the NGX on the mainscreen, I was very pleased, however, as half expected there was a frame drop of about 20%, more than I would have liked. My question is, can I use a se…
