Hi, After first having fixed my d3d9.dll crashes by removing ENB Series. the G3D.dll crashes appeared. I think I fixed it now by installing FS UIPC 4.751a. But as you know, there is ALWAYS something wrong with FSX.And yes, today, a new crash arrived, API.dll. After having searched a little on the forum, I read that Ryan said that it could be due to some kind of system instability, CPU or GPU overheating, bad RAM, or badly installed drivers.Well, I suspect a few things. Firstly, I have just installed the NVIDIA 290.xx BETA drivers. I would like to know which drivers are the best for FSX? Also, I have a bad GPU, which overheats easily to around 75 C when playing FSX. Could…

Hi guys.I set AA button off in FSX.... and I turn up to 8X AA for all applications in the NVIDIA control panel.. But when I fly in FSX it does not appear to be working and neither does the AF filtering... Any ideas? I am using Windows 7 and latest Nvidia beta drivers...Regards,Shane

  3. Hello all,A few days ago I installed the Nvidia 285.62 driver, replacing 275.33 (never installed 280.26). As usual for me, the installation was done via the 'express' method. Subsequently in FS9 the fps showed wild variations ('V' op to 40%), and frequently dropped to around 9, obviously causing lots of stutters. After rolling back to the old driver everything was normal again. This is very odd and since nobody as far as I know has mentioned any problems with the latest version, I've got the feeling that the culprit lies at my end, but I haven't a clue where. Could it have something to do with the new Inspector? I've read somewhere that the old Inspector should be deleted…

Can you make changes to inspector on the fly or do you have to exit FSX and restart it to have the changes take effect? ThanksBob F

Hi,I just had a thought today and I wanted a second opinion from you fine chaps.I have 2 screens, a 19" secondary monitor and a 27" primary monitor. Would it cost my performance in fsx to plug in a second graphics card (a really old thing I've got lying about) to drive the secondary screen, and use my 470 (soon to be a 580) to solely drive the primary monitor? The old card doesn't require external power and is just a cheap thing I have left from my old system.

hi,,,i use fsx,,,,i have a mate on fsx as well,,,he has the matrox triplehead2go,,,3 monitors and im envious of his flight experiance.after a long hard save up....i can manage to either buy a large monitor,,,say approx 27".........or ive looked at the dualhead2go and 2 monitors....i fully understand that the bezels of each monitor would be straight down the middle of the cockpit so am wary of that upset....has anybody out there any experiance with the dualhead2go and 2 monitors for there main display in either fsx or fs9.or am i just better getting 1 large screen.thanksAndy H

  7. Hi there..I've got a new PC now, and some old problems are back.I open a 2D panel. I undock it and move it to my 2nd (or 3rd) screen. Here it remains static, means the image isn't updated when I press a button for example. The state of the panel will always stay the same. If I now move it back to the 1st screen, the panel flips to the state it should have. So the clickpoints are active and do what they should, but the "image" isn't updated.Yesterday it all went well, and today I got this now. But I didn't change anything..I had this similar on my old PC, but I don't know how I solved this. Updating the Videodriver is a nogo atm. I use the GTX580 and theolder 175.xx driver…

Hi!I'd like to ask for your help. I'm currently flying on the FTX: NA 0S9, 2WA1 Diamond Point airports developed by ORBX. Both of them are installed but when approaching the FTX: NA 0S9 airport from different directions I get pretty low (Min. 20, Avg. 32, Max. 40) FPS. My config: Core i7-2600K 4,6GHz, HD6950 2GB GDDR5 TOXIC PCIEMy question is that how much FPS do you get with a GTX 580 on these airports? Thanks for the replies in advance!

  9. I've been hooked on another game for several weeks and took some time off from FSX. It was running fine a few weeks ago. Now I get a black preview window and black when I click fly, although I can hear the sim running. The only significant change I've made is upgrading the drivers to 290.53. I have not tried rolling back the drivers because other users seem to be using them with no problem.I've tried deleting fsx.cfg, I've tried re-applying the profile with the most up to date version of Nvidia Inspector, and I've tried setting the graphics manually through the card and not inspector. My specs arecore 2 duo 3.0 oc 3.8Nvidia GTX 550ti + GTS 240 dedicated to PhysxWin 7 64 b…

Hi,I am thinking about buying either AMD Radeon HD 6970 or 6950. The 6970 costs £50 more than the 6950 and I was wondering if there would be any noticeable difference in performance between the two.6950:http://www.scan.co.u...splayport-2x-dv6970:http://www.scan.co.uk/products/2gb-xfx-hd-6970-dd-cooled-pci-e-21-(x16)-5500mhz-gddr5-gpu-880mhz-1536-cores-2x-mdp-dl-dvi-i-dvi-hdmBesides that, does anybody know if either of these will perform well with FSX. I currently have (had) a HD 5770 which is broken and Im looking to replace it with a new GPU to match the quality of my CPU (I7 2600K). But please feel free to recommend other GPU's (preferably under $350).

  11. I'm testing my new SLI setup, got me a second GTX480 to play with SLI taking advantage of the ridiculously low prices at which they've been selling here lately.Ok, Phil Taylor said in his blog a long time ago that the only reason why FSX cannot take advantage of SLI is because it's so CPU limited, and that it would at high resolutions and high AA levels forcing it to a GPU bound scenario.Sure enough, I can clearly see he was right. With DX10 enabled, in the VC of the PMDG 747 and in the middle of nowhere (to make sure there's not much to do in the CPU) and major thunderstorm, flying at 5000ft through thick clouds and Water maxed out at Max 2.x and AA as high as DX10 allow…

I currently have a Nvidia GT 530,(with an i7 2600k CPU) my frames are roughly 30 fps in the pmdg 737NGX cockpit. Is it worth me getting an Evga NVIDIA GeForce GTX550Ti? Will this increase my frames? Also, will upgrading my ram from 4gb, to 8gb or 12gb help the frames? Thanks for any replies.

Ugg! I think I must just be an old fogy now! I took the plunge and bought a nice big (bigger that is!) screen and now I'm sittin' here wondering why! Having used it for 24h now, I can say the only reason to move from 1650x1080 for 1920x1200 is so I can . . . move the 24" screen farther away from my eyes! I'll give it another few days and see if I can tell why the trend has been for simmers to move to bigger. I guess it probably has to do w/ cockpit layout more than anything. But for guys like me who just have a yoke and one screen, I'm not seeing it! Just means it takes more video (and maybe a little CPU) horsepower to run it. I think the multi-monitor approach …

  14. Should have really posted this here rather than the hardware forum.... but in essence, I am missing the frame limiter setting in the profile common section despite having inspector v 1.9.5.7 and the Geforce 290.53 beta driver installed. I am using an MSI N560GTX-Ti Twin Frozr II card. Options are expanded. It literally is missing from the list. Any ideas? Thanks!

Just playing with my new toy, an nvidia 560ti, but of course there is no AA again in FS9.I have the latest driver 258.58AA is unchecked in FS9I have used nhancer before and tried that to get AA, but I think maybe it is outmoded now. I have also tried nvidia inspector.Just can not get AA to showI can then get the basic AA by checking the box in FS9, but changing the settings does not seem to change aa in the game. I have tried 'enhance application settings' and override application settings' in nvidia inspector. Is there a particular order I need to do things in to get it all to work.

  17. Even in my 30's Santa still visits. I got a 27" Viewsonic monitor which was an upgrade from a 22" AOC. I have the Viewsonic in 1080 and man, my performance which I thought would get worse has actually gotten much better. I am getting about 15-20 extra frames and this is going from lower to higher resolution. I wonder what could cause that, so counter intuitive. What an unbelievable difference this monitor makes in the whole experience visually and otherwise.

Hey guys,I'm looking to upgrading my system as I would like to get back into PC gaming/Flight Sim X. Loaded up FSX today and I just cannot get good frames with any level of AA on my ATI 5770, especially in the clouds, applied Shader Mod 3.0 and it didn't do too much, along with playing around with various other CCC combinations. I tried 0 AA or AF and get ~60fps stable. Therefore I am asking, with a budget of ~$250, is it worth upgrading the graphics and would it have a significant effect?(6950 or 560ti I'm thinking). My reasoning for not updating the CPU+Mobo is that I would still be stuck with the problem of having a not quite outstanding GPU. Also that upgrade, as far …

Finaly I have managed to find a setup with my TH2GO and 3 AOC e2243Fw 21,5" monitors.I have tried 3840x1024 because my "Matrox PowerDesk" program was recommending this resolution but in this solution with my monitors everything was too wide. The 4320x900 solution gives a fine picture but leves two problems (always problems.......)1) FSX only works in full screen mode with this 4320x900 resolution. How can this problem be fixed?2) When in the cockpit and zooming out to 0.30 the panel and instruments are seen VERY CLOSE. How can this problem be fixed (if possible)?Looking forward to a solution  Best RegardsLars

Ok Folks,I am back with another quest for info. I finally got me a LG 42" LCD from good olde Wally World.I am running off of the HDMI connection, so my question is, with two available DVI ports - can I run a TH2Go and an additional monitor. I am sure that there will be an impact on FPS within FSX, but is it still feasible. I really do not need the additional monitors for FSX, but I have a FS9 project that will require me to use at least/minimum of three additional monitors.I am only asking for I have not had a chance to break my sim down and test.ThanksSimeon
