Hi GuysI know this topic gets dragged from piller to post but I need some advice. I'm looking at either Asus or Msi.Asus have the GTX 560 single fan at a bit above $300. The twin fan models of the 560 and 560ti range from between $350 to around $400 give or take.MSI follow suite along the same lines as well. However MSI have a 2Gig card for around the $400 mark making it sound like a no brainer but still like some feedback please. I only really play FSX but bearing in mind that MS Flight is coming out at some stage.Basicly is there much difference in the quality between these brands. Also can the single fan Asus GeForce ENGTX560 DC/2DI/1GD5 1GB be pushed like the twin fan…

HelloHope I got the right forum here.I get a strange problem at dusk/night when turning on the cockpit lights in the VC......please see screenshot below. The add-on aircraft depicted is an Ejet.V2 from feelThere. They have advised it is most likely linked to a videocard setting problem. Can anyone suggest which settings may be causing this problem and how can it be corrected? DX10 Preview is off. Is it an Nvidia driver issue? My graphics card is currently running Nvidia Driver version 285.62.Thanks in advance.

Hey guys I just put together my first build yesterday, loaded it up and intsalled the drivers (hopefully the right ones) and did all the ******* tweaks but I'm still having problems. I'm running the i5 2500k and my GPU is a Asus GTX 560 ti I've manage about 50 fps but I'm getting horrible shimmering and stuttering. And I mean horrible. Its virtually unplayable. Not something I expected from a higher end system. The frames drop down to 20 with the PMDG j4100. And they usually jump lower than that when looking out the side windows. Most of the shimmering is in the distance, i.e. tress, jet bridges etc. I also have objects that are flashing at such a high rate that its hard …

Hello. Good day to all. There is something I've wondered for quite some time:I do my FSX'ing on an Dell Laptop that performs reasonably well, but I still have the video drivers that originally came with it (quite old). I haven't upgraded them because I read somewhere on Nvidia's site that Laptop drivers are handled differently in that the manufacturing company (in this case Dell), tweak or modify the drivers provided by Nvidia to taylor them to their specific hardware, and that I should get my updates directly from them.Basically I have 3 options: Keep the "dell certified/modified/arpoved/whatevr" drivers from Jan/2010 with the philosophy of don't messing with what works …

Hello there my friends...anyways i was searching the web for some tools for my Nvidia, and found out this new AA method http://www.forum-3dc...ad.php?t=510658 It's pretty well know on guru3d and such...tried it on FSX and worked perfectly, so maybe you can give it a chance. You can even use ENB Series http://www.forum-3dc...ad.php?t=512678 I don't understand a thing of German...but Google Chrome helped me with it. Give it a try and you will see what im talking about... using less AA and getting almost the same quality look of those higher AA settings.

First, yes, I googled it. Secondly, yes, I did a forum search but mostly I find Nvidia versus ATI or this or that. Are there any GTX 590 users out there that run FSX without the "jaggies"? Obviously, something wrong with my card settings and/or the settings within FSX. My old video card with FS9 looked better. I played around with all the settings within FSX for anti-aliasing including turning them off (big mistake) and it seems to make no difference on the jaggies.I have a 7i 2600k clocked at 4.6GHz, nVidia GTX 590, 1080p display, 16MB RAM at 1866MHz. Running everything maxed out. Also just recently installed REX OD HD (as within the past hour) so I don't know how that wo…

I am still having issues getting my 28 inch Dell to correctly display at its native resolution of 2560 x 1600. The set up is: 2 GTX 580's with sli mode enabled. Latest drivers, only one monitor ( used to run 2) plugged into outlet one of the top card. The monitor is correctly detected and listed in device manager, works fine at 1900 x 1220 and below , but when I select any higher resolution, the fonts and icons are virtually unreadable, like they are unaliased and have wierd colours. I just tried to take a screen grab of the issue, but when I tried to paste the screen grab into paint, to upload as a photo for you to look at, it was fine. I am running the monitor at 1920 …

I have the NV9800GTX videocard and was wondering what the best settings might be for it....i have read that disabling FS9s AA option and allowing the videocard to handle that itself is best but are there any other things?

I fly my FSX with 2D panel whenever possible. My hardware can run fairly well with AntiAliasing mode set to super sample AA. This makes for super smooth object display - the world looks wondeful. However, this blurs my 2D panel gauges (3D panel gauges retain their sharpness). If I want sharp 2D panel gauges I have to go a notch down to Adaptive anitaliasing. This however, introduces some jaggies to object displays. Not much but enough to annoy me :-)Is there a way to run Super Sample AA and get sharp 2D panel gauges that anybody is aware of ?Thanks

I wish to have a third monitor in my set-up to display gauges, GPS etc. I had a generic 7600GT (256MB 128BIT) available so I installed it in my PC. When I start up FSX, to my surprise I see the error message "This graphics card does not meet minimum requirements for shader support. This product requires a Geforce3/Radean 8500 class or better graphics card". I would think this card meets this minimum specification?! If not, what NVIDIA card would be recommended for this purpose? I'm thinking that a card that uses under 100W would suit me best. ( I would prefer not to connect monitors via USB)

My Q9650 is good. Very good. But I'm having graphics problems, and I suspect my GTX 260 video card may need replacing. The best bang for buck is the GTX 560 Ti. Before I buy - I'd welcome opinion on that pairing. Will they be happy together?

I have a DELL Studio XPS 8100.Specs.Intel Core i7-860 2.8GHz ( cannot be overclocked due to Dell Bios)6GB DDR3 Ram (1333MHz)Windows 7 64bit Home Premium640GB Western Digital Caviar 7200rpm 16MB Cache SATA HDDnVidia Geforce GTS 240 Graphics CardI run FSX with REX 2.0, Ultimate Terrain X Europe, Ultimate Traffic 2, PMDG 737NG and lots more scenery and aircraft addons including VFR scenery.I know FSX is CPU intensive but does anyone think my graphics card is a potential bottleneck? I find that my frame rates drop badly ( 10 fps) at some busy airports. If so would the Geforce GTX 550TI be a worthy upgrade?I don't play any other games, this potential upgrade is purely with FSX…

Every now and then, my screen will reboot and a message box pops up saying that my display driver stopped responding and has recovered. This started happening after I installed WampServer and DropBox. I can't explain it. Even when those programs are closed and I remove drop box from the tray I it still crashes. It might not even be related to those, but since the problem started after installing them I thought I'd mention it. The other day I upgraded my driver to the newest one (I don't remember the number of the top of my head, 285 something) but I still noticed later on it crashed. I'm writing this message now because for about the last hour its crashing an average abou…

Hi,I had posted in another thread and my issues were that I was using VGA out on the card. I did not have a DVI to HDMI (monitor) cable so I went with a standard HDMI cable (in and out). The problem is that although the image quality/clarity is outstanding, I have no control over AA or Anisio. I tried both nvidiaInspector and Nvidia control panel but nothing.Could this be because I am not using my DVI out on the card? Any help would be much appreciated.Regardsbob

I just sent my Nvidea GTX480 back to Gigabyte for repair in warranty, but the reason for doing so may be helpful to others when you cannot start Windows 7.................situation, after installing a additional SSD drive, along with a re-install of W7 and FSX, I could not get W7 to display, nor could I get the screen to show up in "safe mode",. after trying various keyboards, mice, etc, I installed a different Nvidea card and the W7 desktop came up.......so maybe everyone knows how a defective card will affect the computer operation, but if not, maybe my experience will be of help.......B42L8

Hello all, I currently just upgraded my computer a tad bit for better overall performance. I am very happy with what I have achieved but need to upgrade my graphics card. The thing is I am unsure of what I should do. I currently just upgraded my system to:Intel core i7 2600k @ 4.8 GHZH7016 Gigs DDR3 1600 OCZAsus P8z68 Pro motherboard I currently have a 9800GTX+ and was looking into the GTX 580's. I will not buy an radeon card so please dont give any suggestions with that route. There are two 580 types I am intersted in. One being the 1.5 Gig version and one being the 3 gig version. I will not be running multiple monitors so I do understand that 3 gigs wont help me much bu…

Very hard to describe, but there are faint wavy lines that look like they move up and down horizontally, and mostly noticeable in the darker areas of the screen (i.e. looking at the ground), but still can be seen slightly in the lighter areas of the image. I was thinking scan lines but I really don't know. I have vsync forced on and have tried 2 different nvidia drivers for my gtx570 card. Anyone have any idea what this might be?Maybe my monitor is going south? It is a HannSpree 26 or 27 inch. It is about 4 years old. I tried searching on the web, but could not find any info. The lines from what I can see are maybe 1/2 wide or so but hard to tell. Very subtle but becomes …

Hi all,This is my first post so here it goes.A friend is FSX mad and he has a PC that is capable but not very good. he wants to turn a room in to a full on flight sim, he already has all the controller gear but would like to have loads of monitors, he saw a video on youtube where a guy had 8, 5 on the bottom and 3 accross the top. He has a big budget of about £3000, this will get him a sandybridge i7, 16gb ram and 8 monitors no problems.my question is, what graphics card(s) would be capable? how many graphics cards would be needed for 8 monitors? is this even possible? if not, whats the monst you have seen? Thanks

Good day every one,I have a strange phenomena that is starting to be the regular for my start up of FS9.I have FS9 installed on 2 different HD and 2 different system. the first is XP 32 and the second is Win7 64bit.I am running on a TH2GO with 3 screen 1280X1024 + 1 1600x900.So now, If I start the sim with this set up, the opening welcome screen, where you see the aircraft is black, and all the other option, like airport choice, time and season, do not show at all the pop up unless i press the ALT key.1 more strange thing is with the choice of the airport, even when pressing the ALT key, I only have the option of the active runways. Now If I change the display to use only …

Hi all, first post here but will probably end up spending more time here than is good for me. I've been tasked with helping putting together a flight sim for the local air cadet sqdn at which I'm a civilian instructor. I'm fairly pc literate, been building pcs for about 10 years now, but pcs specifically for the use of flight sims is virgin territory for me.the system the powers that be have in mind is at least a 3 screen setup using the resolutions in the title. I'll be using the following hadware with these:Intel I5 sandybridge, overclocked to around 4.2ghz - 4.5ghzAsus P8Z68V2 x 4gb DDR3 memory (not decided on brand yet)850w - 1000w psu (good quality for stable 12v rai…

Hi folks,I experimented a bit with NVidia Inspector and found a mode that's not very common but has an astonishing effect on visual quality. It's called "AA_MODE_METHOD_SUPERVCAA_64X_4v12" and it's definitely worth a try over the common 8SQ. It's soooooo smooth, I love it!

I am replacing a gaming laptop which of course had a VGA out plus the built in screen easily ran two monitors that way.My question is about the typical gpu cards for desktop systems, say a GTX560, if most any of these is almost sure to have dual output connectors to easily hook up two monitors without additional hardware?Or on the other hand are there lots of these cards with only one output?

Hello All - I was wondering if anyone had trouble getting fps limiter to work... I have downloaded the program and pointed the GUI.Jar to my FSX Executable.. When I now GUI.Jar. the FSX loads normal and I don't see the limiter GUI. JAVA is installed and working and I have no UAC issues. Not sure I installed in correctly but I did follow instructions.I downloaded and extracted with 7 Zip to a folder called fps in MY Documents. > I then double click the .jar GUI file and chose the FSX.EXE and it opened straight to FSX but I didnt see the limiter GUI, it just runs normal FSX. Any help is greatly appreciated.
