Ive tried getting the gts 450, because it looked like a diecient upgrade from my current card, which still is a GT8600. I was looking at the gts 430, then I saw the 450 was only a lil bit more, but my local shop can't get that for what ever the reason.. then they said they COULDu get the GTX465, so I came home and looked that up, and it seems like the worst of them all.. but it is for a very reasonable price. So should I get that? or what else should I look towards?

Hi all,I've been struggling recently with really bad fps in fsx and assumed that my bottle neck was my graphics card. I was using a gforce 8800 gts, and was getting about 8-10 fps using pmdg's new ngx. A friend at work had an ATI 5970 lying about and said I could borrow it to see if that was the issue, and then buy it off him if it was.I installed it, along with a new power supply, and it has made no difference at all, still running at around 10fps. My processor is a quad core 6600 on a fatality fp9 board. All the latest drivers are installed. Where am I going wrong, or is this simply the best I'm going to get from this setup?Any help would be much appreciated.ThanksBen

Working on my new system. I'm having temp problems on my EVGA GTX580 SC. Just running the desktop and Firefox, temps will go from 55-86 as the GPU clock varies. My ambient air temp is warm (30 or so), but still, with my CM 932Adv case there should be enough air and my other temps all look good. I installed both EVGA Precision and MSI Afterburner. They seem about the same but I have been mainly using Afterburner. I set software fan profile, and that does cause the fan to kick in sooner bout only seemed to make a couple degrees difference in temps. I dialed back the clocks from factory OC 797/2026 to reference 772/2002 which seems to make a little difference, but still…

Hi there, SInce installing my GTX 480 on my computer I've always seemed to have one or two nagging problems. The one I've experience lately is the most frustrating, and I've run out of ideas as to how to isolate and deal with the problem. Problem:When changing view on the view hat (or even during taxi, when turning) my FPS will suddenly begin to drop rapidly, and become stuttery (from 60 to ~ 15 FPS). It clears when I hit the ALT key and bring up the menus, and FPS return to 60. It'll continue to happen every so often, until I hit ALT again. My set-up Q6600 (overclocked to 3.8MHz)EVGA GTX 480Windows XP, Service Pack 3nVidia driver Version: 6.14.11.9975 (newer drivers i…

Hi guys,I´m planning to replace my GTX 260. She gave me a good work in the past but with the CPU at 4.2 Ghz or higher it´s a bit limiting. I´ve saved arround 170€ and are a bit undecided which GFX card I should take now: My first intention was an EVGA (I´ll go with EVGA cause i´ve heard their cards are darn good.) GTX 460 SuperClocked 1GB available at my hardware shop for arround 150€ but now I´ve discovered the EVGA GTX 560 SuperClocked 1GB for only 20€ more for 170€. Should I go with the 560 or 460?

Hi, I just brought one of our old PC's back from the dead and will be selling it to someone. Before I do though I want to be sure that it is working to the best of its abilities. I need the drivers for the 8400 GS 256mb for Windows XP 32bit. Bringing it back meant a new HDD and without the GPU drivers it is sooooooooooooo SLOW! It lags when I try and scroll so finding these would be very nice. I have tried the 280.26 drivers but they dont work because of some reason and will not install.

Hi all,I just purchased a 23" hp widescreen LCD monitor and I have questions about these types of monitors when using flight simulator 2004. First of all, the monitor has an auto-adjustment and recommends that I use 1920x1080 resolution. I like the widescreen monitor but the problem is that in the 2D cockpit of flight simulator 2004, the panel is stretched out and the round dials are compressed, so I assume that flight simulator was not designed for wide screen monitors. It does seem to look okay in the virtual cockpit. In flight simulator under the display hardware tab, I normally use the 1024x720 resolution. With this setting in the spot view, the aircraft is really str…

Hi Can I use this tool with the FSX Booster: http://www.venetubo.com/fsx.html tweeking at the same time if I checked the box (Keep fsx settings)? I have some other tweeking and light stuff that I am needing! I am wondering about the Anti Alising setting, the nice future eats alot of frames but does it find a better way to get AA without lost of frames, ex Nvidia inspector? Can I use Nvidia inspector at the same time as FSX Booster V2? Best Fredrik

I recall a while back that lots of users of AMD/ATI Radeon 5xxx cards had reported a somewhat major improvement in FSX performance when Catalyst 11.6 came out. Since then there have been a few newer Catalyst releases, the current one as of this post being 11.9, is anyone aware of any additional performance/quality improvements or differential with these releases?

Hi In win7 64 do you need to remove one driver in order to install a new driver (more recent version) or can you install over the old one? Can I install the drive with the CPU overclocked or do I need to get back to the original configuration for this instalation and after that I can run the overclocking settings again? harpsi

I have a Dell Latitude D610 laptop with a 1.6ghz processor and a radeon X300, 64mb gfx card, and I was wondering if I should be able to watch youtube at HD resoulutions? Because right now I cant seem to watch anything more then 360p, without it lagging badly.. I know I cant run fsx on it lol but I thought I should be able to at least watch youtube vids at a reasonable resoulution..

It sounds like these were released for Battlefield 3 but I'm going to give them a shot and see how they go. Is anyone out there running a 560ti with especially solid results from a particular set of drivers?

Its on sale at my local shop, and its within my price range. but I was wondering what you's thought, and if it was a diecient upgrade, keeping in mind that I will be upgrading my CPU, RAM and Mobo at a later date, in the next while. my current is Geforce 8600 with a core overclocked to 620MHz, and what I am thinking of getting is Nvidia geforce GT 430, with 1GB http://www.st…

While I RMA my GTX580, I'm thinking of using the integrated Intel graphics since I have a Z68 MB. Is there a good way to do this so that I don't have problems after switching back to the GTX580? I haven't tried the Intel Virtu or even installed the driver. I guess I can backup my C: drive and restore it afterwards, but I'm guessing it's going to take awhile for the RMA to come back so I don't really want to have to restore unless it's necessary (this computer does all my daily use as well as running FSX/FS9). scott s..

I'll be ordering my new PC over the next few days and was wondering if it's worth getting the 580 over the 560, the 580 is quite a lot more in price but would I notice much difference between the two in FSX? Thanks guys.

Yesterday, I task-switched (alt-tab) out of FS9, as I frequently do. When I tried to task-switch back in (which has never caused any issues), the picture wouldn't come on, and I could only hear the sound (and then I didn't sound totally right, but that's another story that's probably linked to the main problem). Pressing alt, the menus did show correctly, and if I did alt-enter from the (invisible) full window, it did switch to windowed mode. So, I did another alt-enter from windowed mode, but then the FPS was really, really low (like, 6 or less, and I've got mine limited at 24, and shift-z constantly shows a 23.8 or 23.9 rate, and my machine does run it higher, but I pre…

I am in the process of building a new rig for FSX I have the CPU( i5 2500k), GPU ( GTX 460 1024GB) and am debating on whether to upgrade the monitor Now i am quite picky on image quality and currently i have a Samsung 206BW 20" 1680*1050 monitor which i use for gaming and watching Blue-Ray movies. The monitor is 4+ years old and has excellent picture quality and FSX looks great on it. No problems of dead pixels either.Question here is i would like to have a bigger display for simming ( especially helpful in virtual cockpits ) Would i see an improvement inimage quality?( i find that the smaller the screen , the more the pixels are packed into the display - thus increasing…
