Recently (within the last 2 weeks) I am seeing strange artifacts in FSX, followed by a message "windows kernel mode driver stopped responding". The only known alteration I have made is installing Ezdok and I usually see this corruption when I start the EZdok studio. What is strange is that when I go to Full screen then back the artifacts disappear. I am not experiencing issues outside of FSX though, so I don't think it is hardware. But then again, other than FSX I don't usually ask alot from my GTX580.I am running the latest drivers 280.26, but I was seeing this on 275.33 too. System specs are in the signature line. ThanksKevin

Hi all,Okay so nVidia has released it's latest 280.xx drivers. Over at the PMDG forums, users have reported that the new drivers have caused performance to almost half by installing these new drivers clean. After a little bit of research, it seems that nVidia drivers version 270.61 work best in FSX at the moment. So my advice is to head over to nVidia and download the 270.61 drivers for your card, run the installer, choose custom install. Tick the box for clean/fresh install and revert back to these drivers. Remember, you will have to redo inspector/control panel settings for FSX once you've done this.

I have noticed in the forum that there are several GTX cards in use with FSX, and several seem to be working well. I have a GTX-275-1792 mb card, but it seems the 285 is the most popular. What is the best NVIDIA card today for FSX??Also, I just read one post about Inspector really slowing down FSX. I just downloaded it and before I decide to try it and mess things up, is there a manual or tutorial out there somewhere? The only documentation I got with the download is a file showing changes in each version. Thanks, Tom

Hihttp://img253.images...10211455895.jpgas you can see it looks like there is a graphic problem.I'm using a GTX480 and I have driver version 260.63 installed. I tried several settings to get rid of it but no results.I also get sometimes green flickering walls when viewing around on the ground, I tried to make a screenshot of it but it goes too fast to capture one.I checked several forums on this on how to get rid of it, but so far no solutions yet.

Hey. I've hit an issue which is very similar to this one. http://forum.avsim.n...-on-the-ground/ I have not yet experienced problems with the clouds, but I have the flickering textures when near ground. I've run some fast diagnostics in the FSX settings, turning all the sliders to minimum, and I've come up with the autogen causing the problems. (this is, as mentioned, a fast diagnostic, and may not be the actual issue causing the problem, but what I THINK may be the problem so far) This meaning, when I move all the sliders in the scenery option to max, but keep autogen to NONE, no flickering occur. But as soon as I move the autogen slider the flickering starts. As describ…

I noticed that there are specific programs to set up profiles with included in NVIDIA Control Panel including FSX. Does this do just the same as using Inspector game profiles? Also, when one of the profiles is selected, does it already include parameters and settings recommended for the specific game, or must you enter your own? Thanks. Tom

I have a AMD 6000 X2 3.1 Ghz with 4 GB RAM and NVIDIA GTS 250 1 Gb on Win 7 x64.I see Phenom II X4 CPU on 3.2-3.6 GHz. How much would that help performence in FSX?I Tun ORBX addons and also addon planes Radar Contact ASE .I think I would expect a significant improvement, But I suppose FS9 wouldn't be helped sinceit only runs on one core,How limited woud I by mt Gts 250 1 Gb videorard?

Hi, while trying to set up FSX I have come across lots of posts regarding VSYNC. Is this a benefit to FSX and is it a setting within FSX itself, (I couldn't find it) or is it a NVIDIA setting only? Should it be on or off in FSX? Thanks. Tom

I have a new install of FSX on my new homebuilt with a GTX-275, 1792 mb video card. I just installe the latest version of NHANCER (2.5.9) but when I try to start it, the logo and title show for a few seconds then it fades out and disappears. The interface never opens. I checked on the taskbar for an icon thinking it was running but reduced to the taksbar but nothing is there. Any ideas?? Thanks. Tom

Request some guidance on this issue. C2D E6750 GTX570 4MB RAM Win7 64AF16X AA2xSS I get a huge drop in FPS in FS9/FSX when switching between spot external view and 2D cockpit view almost halving at times. I suspect it may be either due to the AA applied on the 2D panel or due to the CPU having to display all those gauges working (not sure about the second theory because I see others not having this same issue). Can anyone shed some light on this? Shez

I will have two identical 24" Samsung monitors and my question is, can the image be spanned across two monitors without losing the aspect ratio. I am planning to have two cards (GTX280 +GTX580) using the GTX 280 for the third monitor. The operating system will be Windows 7 with an Asus P868Z-Deluxe Motherboard and an I7 2600K CPU.I cant use DualHead2go as the connections will be DVI and the maximum refresh rate is 58Hz with this configuration. (Samsung Monitors 60Hz)This configuration was possible with XP but Vista and Windows 7 don't seem to support this.I realize that I am probably flogging a dead horse, but if anyone has any suggestions? Thanks in advance Andrew Dixon

My Inspector settings for a GTX 560 Ti are not giving me a good result for shimmering textures. With the lack of available drivers for the GTX 560 (197 with my old GTX 275 was great) I'd be interested in getting a general feeling for what most people are using. I'm running 270.61, with 8XS and 2XSGSS and have tried so many combinations my head is spinning. ThanksMark

As posted elsewhere here I am looking for a monitor, and am rapidly coming to the conclusion that the parameters of 27” screen w/ LED backlit, 120 Hz refresh that would support nVidia 3D, and a resolution of 2560*1600 are mutually exclusive. I see some good monitors at 27” and 120 Hz, such as the Acer HN274Hbmiiid Black 27" 2ms 3D Full HD, but only at 1920 x 1080 resolution. Others that get to 2560*1600 are only 60 Hz. Other than the Apple Cinema Display but you net a Mac to work it properly….Which brings me to a question- 120 Hz (and the possibility of nVidia 3D) vs. 2560*1600 resolution. Which would you rank more important for FSX, and/or gaming in general? Thanks, Bruce

Hello, I was just wondering if anyone knew how to overclock this card. It is the Directcu ii card with custom PCB so I don't think afterburner works with it. Another point is how should I be testing it, I have been using Furmark but I don't know how long to test it for. Lately I have been rung it at 870MHz and 1.063V, I think. However it always resets and I have to reset it after the boot. I would like a more permanent OC that won't really degrade my GPU. Thanks in advance,

Hi guys,as my system is now running satisfactorily with the new 750W PSU I thought about who much performance more would I gain from changing my current slightly co´ed GTX 260 with a GTS 450 which is currently installed in my sisters system and was installed ihn my system when I bought my current one (Hardly anything is now replaced, only thing which is OEM is the HDD, the case itselfe and the CD drives.)Flying yesterday into Juneau with lots of clouds and the Dreamfleet 727 brought it to the low 20-ties. I´m not used to this, normally it sticks to the 35 FPS I´ve selected. So will i gain any performance in changing the cards?
