I would like to get few advise on right graphic card for my system. My system is: i7 930 overclock to 3.8ghz gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R motherboard DDR3 12GB 1600mhz memory 64gb SSD Drive (FSX Only) 500GB Hard drive 750watt power supply Nvidia GTX 260 GPU Out of this system, I get 10 to 15 fps around FSdreamteam KLAX or any other busy airports in PMDG 737NGX in VC view with 85% airline traffic setting. Running AS2012 and EZdok in the background. Should I be doing lot better on the FPS with the above system? Which graphic card should I upgrade to? The budget is under $300. Appreciate any advise. Mike

Before I begin, let me say that I have searched around this forum and found a bunch of posts detailing settings for ATI cards in the CCC, but there isn't a consistent option that most people use from what I can tell (ie: Nvidia users have Tab's guide in the PMDG forum). I was wondering what everyone's ATI settings were at the moment. I know it isn't the ideal card for FSX but I have one for other reasons as well (I have an Radeon HD 6700 series). What settings give the best performance, the best graphics, and the best combination of both? I'm just curious to see everyone's settings and what people are having success with. Thanks!

I have a 55inch LED/120hz TV. I briefly tried a laptop with it and it looked ok. However, before I lug my PC downstairs I need to know if FSX will look as good as it does on my 23'' monitor. I understand that sitting as close as I do to the monitor is bad but at say a 10ft viewing distance is the TV an option?

I currently have an I5 Quad Core at 2.9ghz, 8gb of RAM, and a GTX 560 overclocked. The results from my graphics switchup were disapointing (I used to have a GT 420.) How can I improve my graphics? The video below is showcasing my new graphics.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJG7-KKMfZc&feature=channel_video_title

Can anyone help me understand how this works? I read several treads on this and am confused.I recently installed the "Inspector" and GPU-Z, I used the Inspector to setting recommended for FSX and followed those instructions.I gather that once it is set you can close it down and it will not need to be running to be working as you have set it.But I do not understand the overclocking section, I click on the tab at the bottom right and it opens up an overclocking section. I do not understand, is this something that just runs by itself and for information only or can I affect changes which might help boost my FPS?Is there some instruction on the use of the overclocking sect…

Hello,I have a PC with below info which at the time being runs FSX at 3-5 fps with Ultra settings in almost empty airports (DX10).- Pentium Dual Core, E6600 @ 3.06 GHz- 4G DDR3 1033RAM (FSB 1066G)- 1TB WD- On board G41 Express Graphics.Which one of these graphics cards may increase the fps to a higher level?- HD6670- HD6750- GTS450- HD6770My preference is on GTS450 (since I am a CS researcher and using CUDA is a more easier than OpenCL). However I have read performance of GTS450 is quite medicore for FSX (less than 10fps???).I am short on budget so I am limited to above cards or something around those prices.I appreciate your help.

My system :intel 2.66 ghzquad core processor4gb ramnvidia 8800gt graphics card640gb hdCan anyone advise me whether or not my system will easily cope with adding 2 more monitors to my existing fsx experience. Im thinking of adding a second video card to match my nvidia 8800gt card to give me ability to add a third monitor to have three views (front, and two side) views when flying fsx. Also does a video card have to match my existing one or would a cheaper card do the trick. Also any advice on what monitors to buy would be a great help. Am only using 1 monitor at present, a proview 17" lcd which has 8 ms, do I need to match the other monitors that also has 8ms.Thanks, John

I wonder if anybody can help.First, upgraded the perfectly-working Nvidia 285 drivers to the latest WHQL 295 drivers when I spotted a post that it was released a few days ago. Immediately started having some weird issues with the just PMDG JS41 in VC of getting flashing across 4 quadrants of the monitor screen in Cockpit View. Then I had a BSOD with the above NVLDDMKM.sys error while going through the PMDG Tutorial at Coff's Harbour. So I uninstalled the 295 drivers and rolled back to the 285 drivers;that flashing ceased, same aircraft, same airport. Great I thought. Now, just when I least expected it, in the JS41 at VRMM(Male), just got to the engine starts, and all of a su…

I am thinking of buying the Dell Ultrasharp 30" to replace my triple screen setup which uses 3 x ViewSonic 20" 4:3s. I would then rely on my TrackIR for sideviews. However, the native resolutions make me wonder if two of the old ViewSonics could be linked in portait mode, giving a resolution of 4960x1600. The natives of each screen are 2560x1600 and 1600x1200.Has anyone tried this?

Hi,After getting the color, brightness, gamma and other little tidbits adjusted, it really is nice. Running with 1080p, a little less than what I was using before, but it looks quite nice and the width of the monitor makes it feel a little more like the size of a cockpit. One issue that I cannot figure out is that the nividia driver is identifying this as a Samsung with the proper resolution but only 60hz. I see no options on the monitor side through their tools section nor through nvidia.Anyone have any suggestions.RegardsBob

I have a computer monitor from HP which is about 3 years old but has HDMI port in it. I am noticing some blurriness on the aircraft detail with payware like PMDG. I know they have good paintkits and I have seen other people with less powerful systems with no visual "hiccups." Could I be getting the blurriness from my monitor? I fly in FSX at 1280X800X32 as my resolution setting. I have tried the AA in my ATI center and it hasn't helped at all.

Now that, nVidia has given us multi monitor support with one card (GTX 580), AMD is totally out of my radar. So now the question is which three monitor setup is good for FSX?1) 3 X 24" (I have some reservation with this setup since the left and right screens have the fish eye stretch ...and not sure how best to reduce/get rid of it.2) 3 X 20" (1900x1200). This could be a reasonable compromise. Although I wish I could shove a 24" (1920 x 1200) for the middle monitor. But as of today this is not possible.3) 3 X 30" out of my price rangeHmm... What would you guys like and why?MannyAlhtough this looks awesome too!

hi everyone, i am entertaining the idea of adding a third monitor to my current setup. i don't know too much though about how to do that or how to make that work. i know that the graphics card i have now will not allow for it, so i need some advice on what to look for and what to do. my current system is as follows:a pentium dual core 3.20GHz processor, 4 GB RAM, windows 7 service pack 1, FS9.1, GeForce 210 graphics card can anyone tell me what to look for to get this setup or if i need to give any more information.

I was playing FSX on my computer and everything was fine. I was trying to tweak with the CCC to help eliminate the edge issues by setting Aliasing to max which was 8x and put edge detect on and I decided to go into performance and max out the Memory. The edge issues are still there. I restarted the computer and the screen came up fine. After about 5 minutes the screen goes black with blue vertical lines. I tried going into the CCC to turn down the settings again but now it says the CCC host application has stopped working and the screen pops up again with the black and blue display. Is there a way to somehow maybe delete the drivers and reinstall them again? I don't …

I am currently using an I5-661 with integrated graphics, and am looking for a reasonable upgrade. I am fairly new to FSX, so I am not ready to build a new system yet. A new system should happen later in the year, but I would like to bump up this config now for a more enjoyable experience while I figure out what I want later.Current configuration:I5-661 @ 3.3Ghz stock cooler using Intel integrated graphics4GB DDR1333Two 1920x1080 monitorsWin 7 Pro 64bitI am looking to add a video card, overclock the CPU, and add an additional 4G RAM as this seems a reasonable compromise.Possible upgrades:Video: GTX560 ti, but am not sure which version. 1GB or 2GB. Other posts suggest that…
