Hey guys, while I´m on another round of "squeeze-the-hell-out-of-this"-tweaking (You know what I mean.) I tried the setting BufferPools=0 instead of RejecetThreshold and I clearly got an FPS boost and less shutters but now my GFX card´s RAM is almost fully used (max was 1011 of 1024 MB, average on 850 - 950MB) and the GPU usage is arround 70-80% with spikes up to the high 90-ies. Is that ok or is that usage limiting in any way?

  3. hi guys, sorry if this is a question already answered somewhere (if so i missed it when looking).i have an ati radeon hdd6970 graphics card. for some reason, i simply cannot get it to run three monitors. They show up in windows however 1 of them is grayed out and i cannot override the system to "enable it". The same problem is encountered if i attempt to enable it from within catalyst rather than windows control panel.i have looked at the amd website about running three monitors and i find the harware setup and limited destructions a little vague and confusing. in fsx i have 3 virtual cockpit camera views, 1 for each monitor.... lhs window, front window, rhs window.i am cu…

Round one: Three or four months ago, I began to have lockups. I was overclocked to 4.0 and went back to bios defaults (which is different from my attached specs). Frankly, I did not notice much difference and have been able to fly smoothly into and out of KJFK and the like with ASE weather and a reasonably complex plane with no problems. All sliders maxed out exacept for moderate Traffic of all kinds and Mesh Resolution at 10m, Texture Resolution at 7cm, and Water effects at Low 2x. A good cleaning very well might be the solution here, but I fear it may be a sign of what is coming.Round two: Bought the new NGX737 a few weeks ago.Round three: The issue - I don't know exact…

...am I expecting too much? Dell U2412M.This was taken approx. 50cm from the screen. I am usually sitting about 60-70cm from the screen, the effect is more or less the same. It's an IPS. I know they glow. But this is a 4th monitor already. Not a fourth Dell, I tried more than one.The monitor is only calibrated visually, brightness is down to 36, contrast to 75, colors don't matter really. The pic is at 90degrees vertically and horizontally.Take a look:

  7. Hi,I really need help here. I recently was handed down an old dell studio XPS 435 MT. The video card is shot and the OS needs updating to windows 7. I am running 64 bit with an i7 processor. I'm hopeing to be able to run the PMDG 737 ngx with full scenery with at least reasonable graphics. And i have a budget for the card at $200 (unless impossible) as i need to get windows 7 as well. Thanks

I don't tend to trust news regarding graphics cards, but this actually seemed to be written in a believable fashion... regardless, I think I'll wait for GK110 to launch later this year!

After reading a lot about other people that achieved great results by "upgrading" from an ATI to an Nvidia GPU in FSX, I am considering to buy a new GPU now.Currently I have a Sapphire HD5850 in my rig that produces great performance in almost everything but FSX. The rest of my system is in my sig. When switching to Nvidia I narrowed it down to 2 options: GTX 560 GTX 570 As I understand it from Benchmarks and comparisons, the GTX 560 should be pretty much the exact same when it comes to specs as my current HD5850. The 570 should be a little better. Also there are a lot of options within either of the two cards to choose from.So my first question is: If I want to keep (ide…

  12. (yeah I accidentally misspelled "insanely")Currently I'm using an ATI 5870 with three 22" monitors, and an i7 920 @ 2.67ghz. Basically - I cannot do IFR/airliner flights in dense areas. Even when I turn down the sliders. For example, I put myself on the active at KSFO in the CLS 767, with all autogen and scenery complexity OFF, water effects very low, AA off, UTX lights disabled, mesh resolution etc very low...and I still only got maybe 13-15 fps at most. Even when I switched to the default 172. I have used several commonly known tools to help; I have the Xtreme FSX PC program as well.Do you think this is a limitation of the card or the fact that my CPU is not overclocked…

  13. Greetings,In reading most if not all the Flight Forum posts here over the past few weeks, it seems that by far the majority of users are getting good to very good performance out of their rigs with Flight. Unfortunately, I am not. I knew I was going to have some trouble since a warning comes up that my video card does not meet required specs (which it doesn't). That part was clear, but what is confusing to me is what video card should I upgrade to? and will it make a significant difference? My goal, obviously is to get the frame rates and performance that most are talking about here. My concerns are, is my system good enough to handle a newer faster video card? Anything I…

  14. So after not finding data if fast nvidia on my type of system(older Core 2 Duo) would help or not, I was forced to test it my self.Default system:ATI 69708 Gig OCZRaid 0 with 2 x HITACHI Deskstar 7K1000.C(0F10383) 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/sGigabyte EP35C-DS3R v2.1E8500 at oc of 4.0GHzVista64nvidia test system:same but with nvidia GTX560Ti insteadBottom line: Frame rate with 560 was slightly less 1-2fps BUT it did not hitch or stutter at all compared to ATI. Like 90% less stuttering. Also noticed FSAA can not simply be forced with Control Panel like ATI can.I'm keeping my ATI card as the stuttering is not that huge an issue to me.Few pics with frame rates:nvidiaATII know th…

Hey,If anyone would like to stand outside my windows before i throw my PC out the windows your more than happy too!In other words im having a very very hard time getting "Smooth Flight" no matter what plane with default plane i get about 6 FPS. I have tried every tweaking without any luck. Oh i forgot to mention i had to re-format both hard drives Sunday. Pretty much im having a melt down and getting frustrated editing all of this and no changes. I can also run BF3 MAX settings with not one hick up. And i also have Manhattan X and Imagine sim KLGA where im trying to test it out or default KPHL. At airport (OA1A) I get about 40fps unlimited. I also have tried FPS limiter w…

  16. As I work on my "simpit" I was entertaining the idea of using Saiteks little individual gauges. But that would mean between 6-8 of them to represent the main gauges and a cost of $1000+. Not the best bang for the buck in my opinion. So I have seen others using display screens just for gauges and then I could swap from steam gauges to tubeliners in a snap depending on my aircraft. And a lot better price I would think. But I need something small -1. - Ideally it would be ascreen of approximately 11" x 6-7" 2. - Could something like an Ipad or an E-reader work as a secondary display?Anybody using something like?thx,Clutch

I'm running Windows 7 64-bit. I downloaded the 64-bit version of NHancer and installed the software. A desktop icon is on the desktop. However, when I execute the program (under Admin priv), the banner appears but there is no indication that the program is running and there doesn't appear to be any way to access the user interface. I've downloaded the software 3 times thinking there might be a problem with the downloaded file. Can someone please help.ThanksFrank

Hi AllMy current visuals machine employs an ATI 5770HD card to provide front left, front and front right views on three monitors. I suffer from a massive fps drop whenever I introduce any more than a slight scatter of clouds into the mix. In clear skies I get 40+ FPS. Anymore than a very slight scattering of clouds and this drops to about 16FPS. To my knowledge I cant use and external FPS limiter as I'm using DX10 (massive fps increase over DX9 for me). On a single monitor I can max the weather and still have great performance. I expect a drop when using Eyefinity due to the increase in resolution.I have read that ATI cards don't tend to handle clouds that well so my ques…

After years of using ATI I will been getting a Nivda card. I went to the Nvida web site to down load the latest drivers for when my card arives and notice just a small setup file was available. It stated to down load the file and it will connect to the internel and self install what I need.. Not use to this, I use to down load the new drivers and after removing the old, just clicked on the new driver file. Is this the best way for doing this or can I find the current driver and down load to my system and install after the new card install? Thankscp

Hi Guys,I have been using the Dell 24" 1900 x 1200 monitor. I have ordered two more Dell UltraSharp 2007FP 20-inch Flat Panel monitors. The ht is the same 1200 but the width is a little shorter than the 1900. I got it used and got a good deal on these two monitors so I went for it.So basically the left and the right side monitors are going to be non widescreen and the center is a widescreen monitors. Hopefully I can reduce the problem of fish eye with three 24" widescreen monitors.I know I cannot use Matrox solution since that requires three identical resolution/monitorsSo now, what video card should I look to for this 3 unequal monitor solution?ATI Eyefinity seems to be…

Good afternoon gents,I was getting graphics corruption (and a terrain.dll CTD) so I formated and re-installed Windows 7 + FSX, this time I didn't installed Acceleration Pack but only installed SP2.Now after installed everything, the graphic corruption is back, and it happens not only with LVL-D 767 but also with the Wilco Airbus A320. Tried rebuilding FSX.cfg and the only tweak now is the HIGHMEMFIX, because my computer is old. I don't get any corruption from other 3D apps, mainly because this puter is only for FSX :DThe graphic card (9500 GT) is NOT overclocked, only the CPU, from 2.2 GHz to 2.7. It's a dual-core E4500. Prime95 is stable all night long. NVidia Inspector …

I have a Geforce 8800GTX card on Win XPI tried hooking up two monitors1 a 24" Dell 1920 x 1200 at 60 Hz (DVI)2. a 20" Dell 1600 x 1200 at 60 Hz (analog VGA)/I then used the NVidea panel to join this two as one big monitor. I was expecting 2520 X 1200Instead I got 3200 X 1200. It made the 1920 X 1200 monitor as another 1600 x 1200 monitor. So the image on the 24" monitor is distorted. How do I get 2520 X 1200 with this setup? Is it because I am using analog cable for my second monitor? If I connect it with DVI cable would it fix the issue? Or is it not possible?Manny 0 Selective Quote Quote MultiQuote Edit

  25. Read the Guru3D forum chat here. Limiter is first mentioned on around page 4http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=356013I for one am really excited by this. At this stage it must be enabled thru Nvidia Inspector - yet to download and try it out because I am on duty - but when I get home...I hope it means the end of using an external FPS limiter??Lets hope it works and the driver is not going to disadvantage FSX GraphicallyAnybody else tried it yet?Ray
