Help Using the AVSIM Forums

I'm using a "live" signature banner showing my current flying status. I've been using it for a long time both here at Avsim as well as elsewhere but lately here on Avsim it doesn't update anymore. I checked the URL to the image manually by simply pasting the URL into my browser address bar and it shows the latest status 100% correct. I've also verified it shows correctly going to other sites where I'm using the same signature banner. And...I've also tried using IE rather than Chrome plus I tried clearing the browser cache but all to no avail...here on Avsim it keeps reporting me being en route ENBR-ENTC but that was the 27'th of June... Hello, for about the past week i've had to sign i to my avsim account almost everytime i visit the site, even with the box checked to remember me. This is across three platforms, iphone, ipad and pc...any thoughts?

Hi! We making a game about airport building and managing. It will be a mix of old style tycoon and simulator of queueing models. Yepp there is word simulator here. I would like to tell more about the game and may be get an advise and wishes from aviation enthusiasts and professionals. I've looked through all the subforums but didn't find any related to economy and/or other aviation games. P.S. Just in case: sorry for grammar. It is not about my English. My native language grammar almost the same ugly. But I'm working on it every day.

AVSIM made a wise decision years ago to make 2 separate forums for Microsoft's FSX and FS2004 (FS9). Would AVSIM please consider having the same separation for P3D v4 from older versions ? I feel many Prepar3D v 3 users are not "jumping" on the latest and greatest 64 bit sim and having ONE forum for all versions sure makes it difficult seeking out appropriate issues for PRE v 4 users. Hello, Did some looking around and I can't find any way of requesting a new forum category for users. I'd like to ask for a forum relating to ATC simulators and perhaps even a specific product for support type questions. What is the best way to pursue this? Thanks, Mike

Hi all, I have just seen how big IVAO and VATSIM is. I wanted to create my own virtual international network, so I made vAIC ( Virtual Air Traffic International Community). Today, 4th June, the FSX forum has disappeared from the list of forums. It's entirely possible that it's me who has done something stupid, but in any case I'd like to know if there is a way to get that forum back.

One thing on the front page that's been bothering me, is the "Recent Topics" column on the right side. The "mouse over" text that pops up should display what section of the forum that particular topic is in and not just "View the topic......". Wouldn't that make much more sense?!

Hi, It seems impossible to edit a post correctly. When I click Edit there is just a little window to write the reason of the edit but t's impossible to have access to the text of the post... A "glitch" ? Thanks and Regards, Richard Portier

Hi Teams, Can you fix the issued with search that I type any keyword? There are available for 21 pages keyword search. When I scroll down the first page and click "Next Page" the second page scroll down there is stop end of search on 2 pages. There is a grey box "Next Page" not able to click for next page 3 or more. Hello Chase & Jim, Good day to you both I was wondering if you might take a look at my user account or "Edit Panel" settings and tools. There appears to be quite a few tools missing from my edit or reply panel, is this normal under the new IPS4 Suite for reply options to user posts. There also seems to be no available Paperclip "Attachment tool" is this by design. I am also not given the option of previewing my posts before submission. If memory serves, there was a feature that existed, whereby an OP could choose the best answer (or most helpful) to a question they had posed in a thread they created. I personally find that feature very helpful if you pose a question about something, and find it with a response from another member, where you can mark the thread with the best answer, featured at the top of the post thread. Problem is, you tend to get an influx of others who tend to either offer alternative answers, or duplicate what was already stated. Another downside is that a thread will stay open beyond it's "expiration date", and it usually requires the OP to request the thread be closed. I'm…

On my iPad, every page on the forums has a large, empty box (below a small advert) which takes up most of the screen. I had this for a while when the new forum format was introduced but then it disappeared. It doesn't seem to be there when I view the forums with my PC. It's annoying because I have to scroll down one screen to read the content. Is there anything that I can do about it?

Avsim used to host the PSS official forums, that I understand went unofficial when PSS closed. Recently (about a year ago),the link from the main forum page disappeared, but I was still able to access these forums via a Google search. However, with the new forum software upgrade, I can't even take the Google route if I want some information about the PSS birds. Is it possible to restore the threads at the PSS forum, even if they're set as read-only, please? The PSS birds are still available for purchase in various sites. Furthermore, one of today's bargains affects 2 PSS products for FS8 and FS9.

Hi all, I am facing a problem with my avsim account. I have sent a message to Avsim support two times within some weeks but have got no reply yet from the staff. So what is my problem: When I made my account here I made an email account in Yahoo so I have it dedicated only to Avsim. Chrome remembered my password since then (2013) but I at some point I realized that I can't login from any other browser cause I didn't remembered my password. When I tried to reset it, a message was sent to the Yahoo mail and then I realized that because I have never used that email since, I couldn't login there either. I suppose Yahoo deleted the account? Back in the 'Good ole days' you could select which forums to see, or more importantly, not to see. Is there such an option on the new shiny forum? I'm not interested in hearing about how marvelous X-Plane 11 is or the trials and tribulations of ChasePlane users. (I could go on...) If there is such an option I've not yet found it. Cheers, Ron. Am I missing something or it's no longer possible to create/edit a post's HTML content directly? There are limitations in the visual editor that I need to circumvent using HTML code but I can't seem to find an option for it. Regards, Keven
