Help Using the AVSIM Forums

I'm a P3d V4 sim user but freeware aircraft cross various platforms. I've found one thhat I would like people to know about and have a "review/tutorial" on it. Which of the forums here should I post it too?

Do you guys only accept Paypal? I want to contribute, but I refuse to sign up for Paypal for personal reasons. There is the graphic on your forum pages that indicates you accept credit cards. Thanks!

Hello , Am new here so it will be nice if anyone here can help me out. I have been using the LOGITECH EXTREME 3D PRO joystick for a past few months and I have been experiencing a problem . During taxi , takeoff , and on final during landing my plane whirls off to the left or right . This happens mostly with the NGX , 777 and sometimes with aerosoft A320. Even though I don’t touch the joystick my plane whirls off. This is even for single propeller aircraft. So anyone pls help me out. Thanks, SHRI HARI S.

Why is it impossible to insert and image like a banner into your signature?

For some reason I am not receiving ongoing notifications from the forums via email. I recently went to preferences and resaved those that I had in place, and still nothing. Does anyone know why I would not get notifications or better yet how do I fix this problem? Bryan

I use the search function a lot, and find it very useful for tracking down that elusive post I read in the past or finding posts on a certain subject. Successive searches are limited to be 25 seconds (I think) apart, o.k. no problem. I would think this alleviates multiple search requests in a very short period of time from users that could ultimately slow things down? Like I said not a big deal. My question is, after the search is completed, the results are organised by relevancy first (default), but I want to see the most recent post. So when sorting by "date" in the drop down menu, it considers this another search and implements another time limit on the sort,…

Howdy, I am not an IT expert, but the one in our office noticed that the AVSIM forums performed port scan when I accessed the forum from work this afternoon. He discovered this when researching a hacking attempt (I know, AVSIM has nothing to do with that issue). Why does this happen? I would like to be able to explain why. I can provide additional technical info if it is needed for a detailed explanation. PM me if you would like to handle this outside the forum. It may have happened when I clicked on Chock's posted video here, but I don't know for sure. Please let me know. Thanks! -Jeff

Hi, I just joined AVSIM. I was looking for help with setting up a multiple monitor system. There is a forum in AVSIM dedicated to hardware but when I look there I did not see any way to make a post to that specific forum. Thank You Tom

I'm using pasteboard (or something) to upload screenshots to post on the forums here. The pictures are shown in my post but when you click on them it redirects you to the actual site instead of just opening them in the forums in a larger view window where you can use the arrows to go to the next or previous picture. What hosting site do you use to 'stay in the forums'?

It would be great if we could have the date of the original post on the Unread Content page. Some old, old threads get posted to and you wonder how old the thread is.

Hi guys, Could be something changed during recent forum maintenance could you take a look please. Over the last couple of days I've noticed the Main forum page "right side menu - Recent topics" many of the longer topic titles are cut partway through a word. Shorter titles are unaffected, mouse hover shows the full topic title popup. EDIT: I've also noticed that long topic titles in subforums are all showing three dots (example this topic: Main Page - side menu - cu… ) Has there been a IPS4 software update, as most of the forums using IPS4 are now showing this same "three dot format" to shorten topic titles. I'm using IE11 browser.

Hello, before the forum got it's update, we had the option to see our own post and topics at the top of the forum. I'm missing this feature, it was good to have a good overview about the topics you are taking part to. Can we get it back?

I have gathered a few reputations recently (as far as I know all neutral) and all surprising. However, as a result, I was wondering just what the protocol is, or should be, when one gets a reputation. Do we PM the donor and thank them, obviously only if it is positive LOL. I want to know why it is that the page keeps refreshing while I'm in the middle of writing and replying to a post?!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's done this 3 times and I'm getting very angry!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't even get a chance to finish what I'm writing. After writing a few sentences, all of a sudden it just disappears for NO reason whatsoever!!!!!!!!!!!! Then I have to go back and write the whole thing again but to have the same thing happen again!!!!!!!!!!!!! What's the problem?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hi all! I really need some help here... I tried to open EMT eight days ago, it did opened, but by no means could update. After several attempts, I have decided to uninstall according the instructions, cleaned any traces and reinstall it, but when it asked to insert the activation code, I got the message: "Failed to retrieve tokens from activation center" and the installer quit. I then downloaded the newest version from Estonia site (v4.0.1.1101), tried to install it and, unfortunately, received the same message. I then decided to send a mail to their support forum. Is it just me or is every page on AVSIM seriously slow to open? When I click a link I get a white screen for anything from 5 to 20 seconds and then the page will eventually load. This has been happening since the site was updated a few months back.

I'm beginning to think the screen-shot forum is to small for all brands and types of flight-sim. Because of this, users of one brand (XP11) are hogging the entire forum with multiple entries by individuals pushing other postings off the front page within hours. Why waste your time at this site with no considerations of other's since screen-shots require time creating, editing and uploading to a 3rd party (sometimes very difficult at some sites). My suggestion for 2017 are the following categories under the Screen Shots, Videos & The Gallery banner: 1.) MS/Lockheed-Martin 2.) XP10/11 3.) Since the removal of Tapatalk, I've reverted back to Opera Mini (full data saving mode) for reading the forums, and sometimes also replying to them. Now that I did a factory reset to my cellphone, I find that I can't open the 3-bar menu anymore. I'm not into changing data saving mode to a lower one, because of the data and battery savings. Is it possible to re-enable login from Opera Mini, please?
