Help Using the AVSIM Forums

I appreciate AvSim needs to make money and adverts are a major source of your income. But I was surprised and disappointed to see a British political advert today. I can’t point you to it but the headline said “Boris, Trump wants your NHS”. Clearly political, controversial and maybe funded by the Labour party - a left-wing party. And on the day we go to the polls to vote for our new MPs. Do you have any control over what ads appear in AvSim? LATER: a similar ad popped up after I posted this message. Hello, Is there a way to search specific forums? For example, I do not want to search for the term "quiet" in all forums, but ONLY in the Radar Contact Support Forum. So far, I can't find a way to do this. How whould this be accomplished? Thanks

Not sure if something was changed but the forum performance this am is the best I have seen to date. Definitely the best performance I remember in quite some times on the forums. Feels much snappier. Just thought it would be nice to post something positive.

Firstly, this is not meant to be a dramatic 'I'm leaving' post. My aim is purely to express in a public forum, why I will be requesting removal of my Avsim account. As an avid flight simmer, I have purchased £1000's on software, from aircraft to scenery, from weather programs to other utilities. During my 30 plus years of flight simming I have purchased some truly wonderful add-ons, but I have also spent a lot on poor products, not because I want a collection of poor products, but because I did not know they were bad. Hi, I don't get any E-Mail notifications since Wednesday, 13th. I am subscribed to several threads and didn't change any of my settings. Checked Spam folder as well. Can anyone else verify/falsify my observation? Thanks and kid regards, Michael

Some of the screenshot posts display their embedded pictures without any problem. However, my latest post for example, just has links. The links are active (I use imgur), and the screenshot does display in a separate window. I was wondering if the issue may be at my end, or something I did differently with imgur - I do not recall uploading any pictures in a different manner.. I convert FSX:SE bmps to jpegs to reduce the size before uploading. Any advice and help is of course welcome. Has anyone else encountered this issue? Thanks.

I am seeing a lot of 500 and 504 errors, and finding myself unable to type replies. Any ideas what's going on?

Hello forum Administrators, I wonder if you would consider activating the content stream editing function in these forums? While it is really only a nuisance, it would be good to be able to exclude the constant stream of "Fs 2020" topics and posts which for those of use who are interested in the project but not so much in the opinion, informed or otherwise, would be a welcome relief.

If my memory serves me well, there was a time when Avsim made compulsory to add one's system specs in one's signature. Wasn't a bad idea IMO as it gives some perspective to posts commenting on the smoothness (or the lack thereof) of using such or such addon.

Tried to reply to the previous Posting Problem topics but er... well, I also can't reply to most topics! I did log off, delete cookies, etc. I managed to reply to one topic but fail to do so in others. I am sure you know it but just in case, Avsim has had hiccups at my end for about 12/15 hours : bried periods of impossibilty to post even to add a like or upvote. Some posts have also disappeared (eg in the bush flying thread of the MSF forum)

Afternoon, Trying to reply to a user in the P3D forum and every time I hit submit it goes gray for a couple of seconds but the reply never appears. Anything I'm not doing on my end? I cleared the browser cache, no joy. Can't think of anything else to try. Thanks, Gerald

Tried on a couple of different devices. Unread Content is empty.

Overnight the option to read the latest unread post in a topic by pressing the black button to the left of the title is not working. It’s just taking me to the first post. Happening on multiple topics and despite logging out and in still not working.

Hi, All members avatars are no more displayed. The issue started a couple of hours ago. Is it just me?

How come when I click the unread content button I do not get any results. This seems to happen all the time with Avsim and sometimes I have to click a few times and then the unread results appear. Over the last two days nothing is showing up at all.

on the ground its completely fine nice and smooth but when I takeoff that's when it starts chugging when I depart. specs: i79700k gtx1070 16gb RAM

I must be losing it as I have been here way too many years but I don't see a preview button when I create a post? Only a 'Post' button. I am signed in. Clutch
