Help Using the AVSIM Forums

Bonjour, Is there a problem with the unread Content, as since yesterday I get nothing displayed. But I can see the unread post (in bold) when I go directly to forums. Merci Cheers Claude

Since yesterday evening, when I’m looking around here, I get a full screen virgin media add, stating “I’m the chosen winner” . There is no way back, if I click back it’ll load a Richard Branson relieving the uk of financial worries…click back again and it loads another how Elon musk got rich ect ect…infinite loop…I have to open avsim on another tab to get back i’ m now typing around an add in the text box,. this it’s on an ipad

Hi: I frequently check the forums with my mobile device using chrome. As of yesterday, when I try to open the forums, I'm directed to some fishing/pop-up sight. I have to completely clear my browsing history and reset chrome because I can't access ANY site after I'm forced to this odd website. Thanks

A suggestion for the moderators: Could we possibly have recent topics grouped under sub-headings by sim version - MSFS, FSX/P3D, X-Plane, etc? This would make it a lot more functional so that we don't have to open a topic to find that it doesn't apply to the version we are using? I have never owned X-Plane, so topics which look like they are of interest to MSFS may turn out to refer only to X-Plane. If all MSFS topics were grouped together it would make it much more user-friendly, I think. Thoughts?

I stopped getting AVSIM Mail notifications suddenly on Friday (March 4th). I took several actions but no success so far: 1. Checked SPAM folder - nothing. Plus, <[email protected]> has always been in my Outlook address book. 2. I tried to change mail from [email protected] to [email protected]. Didn't get the reply link mail thus I was under danger to lose access to my account at all. No reply link mail nor in the Outlook spam folder or on the server spam folder (logged in and checked) 3. I mailed to AVSIM "Contact Us" twice. No result (Not complaining, just stating, it was over the week end). 4. I changed mail once more to [email protected] which i…

Is there a range of which we have to donate in a fiscal year to get certain statuses associated with the user account?

Hello, I would like to Ignore the User GSalden. The facility for doing this is strangely unavailable for this user, why is this?

While the navigation on other sites is regular, here I browse very slowly.

Anyone else seeing this? It's blank and drops down a second or do after the page loads. It's incredibly annoying as it prevents me from accessing my notifications on my mobile device.

For a couple weeks I’ve noticed that the ads at on the side menu that I can click to see responses to post I’ve participated in are now being blocked by a top banner and it’s quite annoying. Why is this happening? Thanks.

Since November 28, 2021, my Avsim front page still has the same stuff on it from November. Here it is 12/22/21 and nothing on that page has changed. I've logged out and back in. I've cleared the cache several times, but nothing changes. I've been on avsim for many, many years without this problem.

HI there, just thought I’d point out that on safari at least the top banner ad is covering some website content. Most notably I can’t view the notifications. I note today that suddenlylarge banner ads are appearing on the bottom of the screen that change every few seconds and cannot be stopped. The seem to come from Google.They block the viewing area of the forum in part and are extremely annoying. If this is the future of AVSIM then I am out. Is there a way to prevent these? Greg

How do you post an image in your signature?

I added a signature a few days ago. There cannot be anything wrong with it because others can see it on my posts. but, oddly, i cannot see it myself. I can see other folk's signatures, just not my own. s there some other option I must select? Pete

A thread addressing an anomaly of DC-6 engine simulation in MSFS seems to have been purged including my posts. Is the an explanation for this? Maybe it was moved - can't find it. ron

Hi, I've done a donation to AVSIM 30 min ago. It has been logged on the donation page. What is a bit strange is that I paid though Paypal and usually the notification is sent within minutes after the transaction. At this time (30 min after the transaction) I have received no notification, and yes I have already checked my spam folder in case. PS: I had no idea on where to post this other than in this forum.
