Help Using the AVSIM Forums

G'day all,Well after Tom's post about all the new features of the new software I delved into the bowels of the forum and tried to make my own album.I kept getting getting an error saying I needed to select a different catagory, but try as I might it wouln't let me creat an Album.Does this mean that ALBUMS (creation) are for the administrators and commercial vendors only????The software message is very vague. Hello, I'm new to this forum and I have been a FS fan for a few years now.I'm trying to figure out where to make a post about my website, Flight Sim Academy, in an effort to help it gain popularity in the FS community and make it a benefit to all.It is a website devoted to the education of creating models, textures, and other addons that increase the realism of the flight simulator world, but it is struggling at the moment due to slander and other miscellaneous attacks on me made by some of the most notable members the FS community. :(Can you give me advice of where to put such advertisement? Greetings AVSIM on this first day of 2009-Did you know that the New Hardware Discussion topics-"MoBo/Ram/CPUs & Other", plus- "Video Cards and Drivers"-are ONLY displayed if the viewer is Logged IN ?If you visit this forum NOT logged in, you will see ONLY-"Hardware Controllers/Drivers" and "WiFi,Routers etc".I thought old age had finally caught up to me before discovering this peculiarity!Alex Reid

First of all I have to say I really LOVE the new forum software! Actually, I stopped visiting this forum earlier this year because I absolutely hated the old software... Compared to other forums it was so incredibly er... er... well, never mind, it sucked so bad that I just didn't visit this forum anymore.Just before christmas I bought the PMDG MD-11. To my shock I found out the supportforum was over here... But when I clicked the link on their site I found out the link didn't work... Don't know if this is the right forum, but couldn't find any forums that deal with the forum specifically.At the moment, I only get 10 posts per page. Is there any way to increase this, as 10 isn't that much. In the PMDG forum, the first page is mostly taken up by pinned topics.Thanks

Have been absent from the forums for 10 days or so and now only see a few topics, like less than 10 topics in the FSX forum for instance.Do I need to change a setting to see more ?Siggy

Is there any way to get more than 9 or 10 posts per page. Seem there was more before.JimCYWG

Is there a hidden option someplace to save a particular topic/topics like we were able too with old forum software? I read thru all the help info and either missed it or did not see it.ThanxDave

I went to the FSX forum today and the number of threads listed was only 10 for each page. Yesterday, I'm pretty sure there were more threads listed on each page. I tried looking in MY CONTROLS/BOARD SETTINGS to see if there was a way to increase this number (it's a lot easier to scroll down 30 or 40 threads than flick through pages in my opinion) but couldn't find anything. Any ideas?thanks in advance.[edit] Don't worry I found the options:Number of posts to show for each topic page Number of topics to show for each forum page these were set to "Use forum Default" so I set them to the max 40.

In the FAQ section of the forum there is a locked post stating you can change your ranking system title. This post specifically states: When I go to Edit Profile Information I do not have a "Custom member title" option.Todd

Hello,I'm a bit embarrased asking this but I couldn't figure it out myself so here it is: I noticed that at the bottom of the different forum pages members who happen to be there are visible with a small flag indicating their countries. Mine doesn't appear, just "N/A". What do I have to do to correct it? :( :( Thanks in advance and happy new year! :(
