Help Using the AVSIM Forums

HiWhen I search forums with any term it comes up, nothing matched your terms etc.I have tried both search boxes, at bottom of forum, and top right.Mole man

I use Kaspersky Internet Security 9.0.0.463 so I don't know if this is the problem. When I go to "MY Assistant" and try to view my last 10 posts, I get a blank page. It does says done at the bottom of the Page so I know it has loaded. How do I correct this?bha19

i just heard about the hackers that totally took out your website sorry to hear about that but a while ago i registered with this site and around that time i was receiving mass amounts of spam from this site (AVweb) daily multiple emails i just want to know i was using this account for some business purposes and want to know has my email account or my computer been compromised?ThanksStephen

Perhaps you need to "resync" or whatever it is you do?

I have inadvertently subscribed to the forum and am receiving e-mails informing on posted items.Although having read the instruction to open my control panel and to untick the view forms link and also to go to e-mail settings; my controls and unticking "send me any update" if not subscribed, I have been unable to properly follow these instructions.Apologize for it and would appreciate your help in unsubscribing me.Thank you in advance.Clarindo

Hello, it seems since the website was back online everytime I visit the Avsim website and click on the "FORUMS" link my computer hangs and I have to end TASK on "Task Manager". Also my CPU usage jumps to a very HIgh % in the 90's and sometimes tops out at 100% (according to Task Manager). After that everything is fine. I have not noticed this problem with any other websites I visit regularly on the NET. Also at times when I open the AVSIM site it opens at the "Library" page and I have to click on "Reset" to bring up the Main page, which is what I would prefer to start from. Do these issues have anything to do with my security settings on my computer?Regards,Tom

When I log on under my user name (GACSavannah) I can see a whole long list of forums, starting with the FAQ Forums, then the Avsim Specific Forums, then the Topical Forums, on down the long list, each with it's own associated forums. When my son logs in on his user name (BobbyG), he can only see the FAQ forums, the X-Plane Forums, the Rise of Flight Forum, and the Board Statistics,but all of the other forums go away, and I can not seem to figgure out how to get them to show up under his user name. What am I missing?

this was discussed last year with the FS9 forum. know i see no way to view any page but #1 of the FSX forum.FS9 -FSX -in the old thread 'FS9 forum pages' tom stated this was a indexing issue. likely the same here with all the cleanup required after the incident of a few weeks ago.--

I just noticed that the forum Wiki link goes to "http://localhost/mediawiki_free" but it should go to "http://wiki.avsim.net/".

But I wanted to log on using an old ID I used to have - called chartphred - but I think it is associated with an old email address I used to have.So I had to create a new one. I am using the new Internet Exporer 8 & Avsim does not work properly unless I am in compatability view.Specifically the graphics can be wrong and the main front news page is completely blank apart from the main logos at the top of the page. The links to the various sections of AVSIM are there & enable me to click the forums section.I realize that you have been very busy of late & that you may be well aware of the problem but I am not sure if it is you or me.Chris

Whenever I try to post an image to the screenshots forum it will only allow me to post the image and no text i.e. I canot write anything in the text field. I use firefox. Is there a problem?ThanksVololiberista

Is it possible to post pictures or video of real world experiences? As a simmer and real world pilot I always enjoy seeing some real world stuff on FS forums. Also, I think 100% simmers can experience some real world flying (albeit virtual) this way as well.

I'm now getting the mesaage at the head of each forum with Firefox:No topics were found. This is either because there are no topics in this forum, or the topics are older than the current age cut-off. However, I can still see all the posts so it's no really an issue.

I'm new to this forum and I can't figure out where I'm allowed to post a question related to FSX. I saw a few topics in the FSX Tips and Tricks forum requesting help, but there was a pinned thread saying "don't ask questions here."Where do users seeking help post? :)

But my question is, having recently update my personal profile including inserting a personal photo, when I make a posting on the forums my photo does not appear beneath my user name and other info. I've been a member of the AVSIM's forums for many, many years and have been using the same signature all the time and all of a sudden I get a message telling me my signature is no longer accepted - what's the problem!?

I was looking around the Forums and was wondering if there was a place in the forums to makes posts for bug fixes on the site?I am sure you guys have a list a couple of Knots long but I wouldn't expect you to catch it all.
