Help Using the AVSIM Forums

I wish to attach a file to the CTD forum in accordance with the Avsim Crash to Desktop Guide. For the life of me I cannot see an attach button. Been all through the help forums, but guess I'm either blind or daft. Help is appreciated for this feeble minded flyer. Thanks Donn

if you click on the your username and click "my profile" and then hit the posts button and for some reason its only showing the last 3 or 4 posts and i think thats the same for everyobe, but im wondering if theres a setting to allow for more than 10 or more recent posts. Thanks In Advance

Having used Facebook since retiring I do find the like option quite useful. It allows you to agree with a post with a minimum of effort. I know many years ago there was something similar on AvSim but it was withdrawn after being abused. Quite how I'm not sure. The only way I can currently agree with a post is to quote the relevant section from it and add my comment. That's relatively time consuming and the additional post will most often, add little to the discussion. But of course if you do wish to add your own comment that would remain an option. For the last week or so loading the main Forums page that also includes the topics I've participated in is taking a very long time. In excess of 30 secs. I have a fast broadband connection. This is the URL... http://www.avsim.com/index In comparison www.avsim.com loads in a few seconds. But this doesn't show the topics I've participated in so is less convenient. Anyone else noticed this and is there a solution?

Dear Sirs, I used to enter your site pmdg with no problem until last week. When I try to enter your site I get a notice that the page cannot be diplayed. It says there is a network problem. I am attaching the notice with the error. I have 4 computers at home on the same network and only my comuter gives this error. This is really strange. There is no problem with the network at home... Hello, I am a new member here, obviously, and I have made two total posts since my membership was activated within the last 24 hours. One of the main reasons I signed up at Avsim was to participate in the support forums for a product I recently purchased, the PMDG 777 for Prepar3d. Hello there, When I'm on the forum main index page under the "recently discussed" section, the "view more" tab onced clicked on brings up "no new content found" I log on once a day for a browse around and find it hard to beleive that only 16 topics have been discussed/replied to. . I've tried the 3 different computers and tabs with IE, Chrome, FFox... Is it just me or is the great feature no longer working?? Cheers

After doing a clean install of win 10 I can't search the forums even when signed in?

Whenever I read a thread, the order of posts has started showing latest first. In a long post that means going to the last page to find the question. How do I go back to having the O/P at the top of page one and replies in order as you go down, latest last? Thanks

(Problem solved - see edit below) Good day, I'm having an interesting issue with AVSIM and Firefox. After returning from vacation, I noticed I was logged off of the site. No worries - I just signed back in. BUT, following my signin, I was immediately presented with the following error message... Hello: Can someone teach me how to post a picture on the FSX forum? I used to be able to attach a picture, but I cannot do it any longer. Every time I hit the picture icon on the tool bar, it only gives me the option to attach a URL. Is there no longer a way to attach a .jpg to my posts? I read the help section, but I don't seem to have the required tools that they reference on the Forum Help files. Sorry... I am sure it must be extremely easy to do this... What happened to the forum snippets that used to appear on the right side of the page. This was a handy feature to quickly get a look at what topics had been posted so that relevant listings could be followed up on. I visit avsim several times daily and this quick reference allowed me to look at a topic of interest, and contribute where possible I don't have the time or inclination to visit the Forum sections each visit and scroll through the plethora of topics available. The space used by these snippets is now occupied by 'community gallery' - although a nice feature not essential. An odd occurrence is happening while browsing the AVSIM forums. On the left hand side of the page (within the light blueish area from the edge of the screen to the white content section), I get ads bleeding through that weren't there before. The ads cycle ever few seconds, but they cannot be fully seen and it seems that they are cycling in conjunction with the smaller ad window on the right hand side. -Jim
