Help Using the AVSIM Forums

In the last few months a few features have been removed from the forums presumably for performance reasons. These are:- Topics you have contributed to no longer available. Topic starter no longer identified Not advised when new post made to a subscribed topic. On that last point here's an example, I posted a comment at 17:56GMT and the next post was timed at 18:41GMT. There were 5 further replies but I haven't had an email for any of them. And yes, I have checked my spam folder. All this means it's becoming difficult to keep track of what topics I have posted in. I've tried several times, and get a "This webpage not available." message with a Connection Reset error after the contribution page when it automatically redirects to the download server. It has been like this for several days. Any thoughts?

All my messages since Nov 3 appear to be gone.. Did I delete them by mistake? I do recall seeing "your messages have been deleted" a couple of times when I was responding... maybe I had a sticky delete key

Was just wondering how long the forums will be in performance mode?

Hello AVSIM Staff, whats been going on. i used to able to site in the forum index and in the upper left hand corner it would show topics I participated in, and un read new posts. Now all I see the directory index and have to go into each subfroum manually. I very much liked the previous method better. Do I need to change a setting? I must say that right there has kept me off the forums for a while and I feel way out of the loop now. Angelo Cosma

In the last several days, the forum page that includes "Topics I've Participated In", appears to be missing. Is this scheduled for a return? Please forgive me if this already been addressed. Les Parson

I have only 3 posts on the "Content | Follow" page and there remains only 2 pages of "My Content" where I used to have dozens of pages listed. I marked a thread to follow while I was away and the thread is no longer available which is a real shame. Will the forums be reset and the information made available after the PMDG 777 SP1 threads slow down or is the information gone for good?

I seem to be missing all the things that I liked about coming here. There is no more window showing post that I am watching, no more bargain window, no more hot topics window? Now it just opens with a forum list.

can't find a search 'box' for the forums? missing? or am i blind?

With Version 3.0 being released today, as with any major release, it seems the forums are getting socked. It may be a good idea to put the forums in performance mode until the surge settles down!! Edit Title should of course read 3.0 not 2.0. Hit save to fast!

After visiting the Aerosoft Forum, I see they have done what looks like a complete redesign based on the Windows 10 look and feel. I think many Flight simulation sites are using the same forum software, so the question occurs as to whether Avsim will be following suit, any time soon.

the 'search forums' function isn't working. to duplicate - in search field box in the AVSIM header type 'feelthere' change search to 'forums' result is 'zero posts' (which is incorrect).

Is the library on maintenance? If not it appears all library files are missing! The database entry is there , but there are no files associated with them.

Seems that hangar chat and the other forums are being hack by some one? or am I mistaken here by some one posting in Chinese posting multiply times? Edit never mind issue has gone or has been fixed

Hi, I used to follow the DCS forum and other combat forums pretty consistently, but they have disappeared. What happened to them and are they going to return? Bill Clark

Edit: problem has been resolved Hi, After I have signed in, I have no access to certain forums. Especially my own SimLauncherX forum is inaccessible and thus I cannot post anything. All forums after the 'Commercial Support Forums', starting with 'Other Civil Aviation Simulators', on the the forum index page (avsim.com/index) are missing after I have signed in. I have tried several browsers (Edge, IE, Chrome, Firefox), but that made no difference. When I sign out, all forums are available, but I cannot post when signed out of course. Please correct this issue asap. thanks, Maarten

I noticed this morning that several forums, including virtual airlines, have disappeared. Is this a technical issue or is this intended? Thanks, Stijn

I'm able to search the all the forums using the search box in the upper right. However, searching a specific forum yields no results. For example, a search for "repaint" site wide, yeilds 6k+ results. Going to one of the forums which contains some of those results, attempting to search for "repaint" in that forum shows no results.

Hello If select the Menu option from the home page ,I get the menu options OK ,but the home page partially bleeds through those menu options. It doesn't prevent you selecting options ,but it looks very poor. Andy

Bonjour, I have problems when trying to view more on the "Recently discussed forum topics". Since 4 or 5 days I always have the following message "Sorry, no new content found". Is it a known problem ? I just want to be sure it is not related to my account. Merci. Best regards Claude

I can't use the search function recently. Whatever I type in it reports "No results found"
