Help Using the AVSIM Forums

I hope you don't mind ask you a question. a member here has a module for the Carenado B1900d that I would love to get but he doesn't know how to upload the file to the download page. could you let me know so I can show him how.

Using the mobile version of avsim and cannot find anywhere how i jump to last page when reading a topic. Have to use the full version if i want to go to last page.

Greetings, I'm having a few issues in the forum which hopefully are easily correctable. The "quote" button doesn't seem to do anything. IE, when I try quoting a previous post, nothing appears in the reply box. I can still post a reply, but just can't add the quote. Also, when I try pasting something into the reply box (eg: my FSX.cfg file), it doesn't allow me to paste it. Is there an easy solution, perhaps something in my settings that needs to be changed? The links bar at the head of the forum has taken a leave of absence, is this an improvement or the result of 'fiddling'?

As of about 1 hour ago, the AVSIM forums have been sort of acting up. First it would not let me create a QUICK REPLY. I would enter the text and hitting submit would have no effect. I had to reply to a thread via the REPLY button on the top right hand corner of the page. Strange problems. If I am NOT in BBCode mode and I select to quote a reply - the quote does not show but what I post does. If I AM in BBCode mode and quote a reply, the quote shows but my response does not. This just started happening. Have I missed a change somewhere? Thanx, Vic

We have introduced a new feature today that allows you to embed Google Docs (Doc, Spread Sheets, Presentations) into your AVSIM forum postings. Here is an example using the AVSIM Terms of Service. Is this the new format of AVSIM to NOT include the latest posts made section at the top of the page and our current last posts made section on the left side? I am confused, did they disappear or where they removed?

I've registered with Avsim over 5 years ago (5 years and 10 days, to be exact ), and couple of days ago, when I tried login into my account, for the first in a very long time, I wasn't able to, and since I figured I probably just forgot the username or that it may have been deleted, I registered again. Searching through my email account, I found the first email indicating my registration, in the 10th of August, 2009, and a second email, from Feb 17, 2012 which says: So I understand it is not deleted, it's just "inactive". Let's say you know someone who is completely out of their mind nuts about Flight Simming and they check the Avsim forums multiple times per day (way more than is necessary to keep up to date with what is going on). Of course this is not me, but someone else I know. Anyway, if you left Avsim forums open on a browser tab, would it auto refresh, or can you set it up to auto refresh say every 15 or 30 minutes ?

What happened to it? Was it officially found out to be a money scam?

Hello, I've been using Tapatalk for browsing forums a while ago but then I had to reinstall my app on my Windows Phone. Now, using the latest available version of Tapatalk, if I search for AVSIM, it finds the forum but when I open it, it says: Is this just with me or something is wrong? I can confirm that the app is working properly with other forums like WPCentral etc.. Thanks.

Is there something changed that requires us to tweak our profile settings, or is there a problem with AVSIM web site? i.e. AVSIM is no longer showing PC specs, simulator details etc. Regards,

Just noticed how the My PC and My Simulator links are not displayed anymore inside posts I made. Is this due to the 'Performance mode' being enabled?

Hello, Since yesterday, I cant seem to see the forum button on the Avsim toolbar, I can only see: AVSIM Store Downloads Donate Reviews etc.... When I click on View New Content I get "An Error As Occurred" I cleared my browser's cache and cookies .. I have the latest version of IE 11.0.96 , I am also getting the issue with Google Chrome. The only way for me to get to the forums is to type http://forum.avsim.net Thank you in advance John.

The new forum layout looks good but the search box has gone and it's not obvious where it's moved to. Just when I need it too. I've got sound problems with PMDG 777 SP1 and I'd like to search to see if anyone has found a fix.

Hi, I'm having trouble browsing the forums. Despite being logged in, I keep getting '503 Service Unavailable' messages and have to refresh a couple of times in a row before a page comes up. Is this a known issue or is there something I can do myself? thanks, Maarten Boelens The Netherlands

Until recently I didnt have any problem with them but now, even though I stay logged in to Avsim, when I get an email showing a reply to a thread, it asks me to log in again. Did something change?

Greetings all, I seem to be having problems adding an image to my posts. I clicked on the "image" icon, and I get a popup. But when I add the URL (I use tinypic and photobucket), the popup freezes. I cant add the link, and cant close the popup box. I have to close the webpage and start all over. Any ideas? Many thanks.

Hi, I have had to get my password reset and AvSim sent me one of those jumbled up-up random passwords to get back in - great, that worked flawlessly. Then comes the part when I want to change that password to something I can remember (one already prepared), I get into the Control Panel and there is space for email address (two spaces actually -1 to confirm) and then one field where the CURRENT password goes - nothing else. Where does the new password go? I see no way to change it. I also consulted the "Help' files and FAQ but they reference the old interface and not the current new one. --------------------------------------------------------------"Quote"------…

For some reason it appears the Recently discussed forum topics section is not updating with the latest posts being made. Any ideas?

I need help trying to find a post that I was watching. There is an option in all post to select the "eye" image so that you can "keeping my eyes on this", but for the life of me I have no idea how to access that or locate post I have been watching. Can someone please help me? Thanks Troy

I have been trying to post a pic in a forum but to no avail. There are no instructions on Size of pic anywhere that I could find. I have tried different sizes but no go as of yet. Anyone have the size limit?
