Help Using the AVSIM Forums

Hi, I have managed to exclude the forums front page while trying to figure out why my "view more" forum topics are blank..Need some help here! Rick

Hello, It used to be that clicking on the AVSIM logo on top when browsing the forums would take you back to the forum main page (community index). Now clicking that same spot takes you to Avsim front page even though it is showing that it is taking you to the "community index". Is it an error or a permanent change? Thanks.

Unable to navigate to AVSIM library from Front Page. Also, AVSIM Front Page link sends me to Forums, same as Forums link on your menu bar.

Is the URL http://forums.avsim.net going to no longer be a valid URL to the forums here? It drops one on the main page at www.avsim.com instead of in the forums. If this is going to change, those of us with commercial support forums here (and the corresponding links on our web pages) will need to know. Thanks in advance.

Starting today, I have never seen Avsim load up and running so fast and efficient. A thanks to all who stuck with it through recent technical and emotionally challenging times. Although maybe not spoken, the efforts and resources put forth to bring this site to the level its operating now have really paid off. Taking a break from actually simming now, but I still enjoy keeping up with what's happening within the hobby. Avsim has always been my go-to source. Nice to finally see everything working so well and fast. Best, Brian

Forum layout changed removing many useful features that are now nowhere to be found? Just wondering.

Sorry for the 'clickbait' title. This probably winds me up more than the majority of the people here. BUT, the default 'smiley face' when making a post is actually a 'rolling eyes' face. I've often wondered why there isn't just a run of the mill smiley in there when making a post. Like I said, it probably doesn't bother most of the AVSIM members but it can definitely have a detrimental effect when seen by others. For example... I love AVSIM :rolleyes: vs. I love AVSIM :smile: thoughts?

Don't know how I turned it on but most of the time, when I click to reply to a post, I get a popup of what is in the clipboard highlighted so I can immediately paste it. Any way to disable this action? Thanx, Vic

Sirs, I'm having issues with editing my signature. I cannot add links to pictures, or for that matter edit in HTML. Is there an issue with IE11, or are there restrictions in play for the moment? Thanks,

Hi. I changed my profile pic to a small animated gif of a 787. It animates just fine in my profile page, but not in any threads I post to. Is that not supported in the forums? I'd thought I'd seen some there before... Thanks.

The little photo guy upper left of my post is something I want to replace. I go to Edit Profile and then to the photo page and select a photo from my hard drive and upload it. It shows in the left window but not in the right window and not on my post. What am I doing wrong? I also tried to put the photo on Photobucket and link it but that also did not work.

hello guys, yesterday i went into my profile to edit the profile photo , but when i selected from my PC , a photo of me by the way, it didn't show in the profile , its like the banned photo icons u find on some websites , so i went to upload my photo on another website like imgur so i can use the direct link instead of just the file itself from my PC , but again same problem now i can not view my photo in my AVSIM Profile can anyone please know what is the problem ?

Is there a guide to setting this? I can't get an image to show up, it just shows a jpeg icon and no photo.

While trying to enter to Avsim from, desktop, I've been getting today Error 503. This does not happen if I use the mobile version. I've already tried from 2 different locations and computers, without success.

Please, could somebody tell me how I can search the AVSIM forums using keywords etc. I cannot find a search box anywhere despite seeing it mentioned somewhere in another post. Dave

Using firefox the tag colors are gray. The tags for following Fsx/fsx-se.When click on this is what I get. Oops! Something went wrong! [#10145] Search is not enabled on the community at this time. I am guessing there is a problem with the forums as you can no longer view new content. Just want to confirm its on your end and not something with my browser. thanks.

I do realize that I'm posting in a new members area, but it seemed the most relevant place for this question: Is it possible to ignore an individual topic or thread? On my "Topics I've participated in:" area, a particular topic in which yes, sadly, I have participated in keeps rising to the top like the after effects of a bad meal. Each time it does so, I end up feeling inclined to look at the new posts in this topic. And then I end up starting to reply; elegantly choosing words and phrases, trying to get my point across without being blunt or rude, trying to share my opinion without seeming to be a complete and utter (insert word here). Its certainly not a big thing but i was wondering about the limitations of the Content I Follow. It seems to only save about 5 things, is that rite or am i doing something wrong? I saved a big load of useful threads (spent ages doing it) so to get easy access to them for flying and computer tips, then had a peep next day and there was only a couple left. When i click Change/Choose Action/Stop notifying Me Of Updates, the saved threads seem to disappear even quicker from Content I Follow. Even though i don't want updates, i would just like to have the threads i save close to hand anyway. Its only a very small problem i am having this Sunday morning :r…

Quick question for everyone out here. I frequently check the forum on the go with my iphone 6. It normally starts in the mobile friendly layout, and I switch it to the full view. But every time I come back too the forums, it has reverted back to the mobile view. Is there anyway I can set it up to always use the full view?
