Hello guys, I want to introduce ourself first. We are Crossfeed Design, a small group of enthusiastic simmers, who started quite some years ago with the scenery development of Hannover Intl. Airport EDDV, located in Lower Saxony (Germany). We started from scratch with the development, with no knowledge to modeling or texturing and ended up in a quite nice looking progress. We are also looking for more recreatings after this project comes along nicely. I attached some images to this post so that one can get some impressions (more on our discord server). Some key points for our project (planned): - P3D, MSFS, XP - freetime project - high level of detail Beca…

Alex Taylor, founder and CEO of Orb Aerospace. Whether his company is successful or not, whether his aircraft is successful or not, you have to admire his courage and determination and inventiveness for one so young. They are using an agricultural waste product that's usually dumped, in a fuel cell. Claiming 1000 nautical miles and fits in your garage. If true this could be a game changer. 1000 nautical miles. 185 mph cruise. 500 pounds payload. I love the variety of these eVTOL's, so many innovative ideas and such a variety of concepts.

Growing up in San Francisco I learned to love seafood. Every Friday night my dad brought home a live crab and boiled it. I prefer crab meat to filet mignon. Last night Betty and I went out to eat to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We went to one of our favorite restaurants. Granted a poor substitute for O'Breckies in Baltimore or Bookbinders in Philadelphia or Scomas in San Francisco, but when you are a thousand miles from the ocean what can you do? We always eat half our meal and get boxes to carry the other half home in for dinner the following evening. When the waitress brought out the boxes I complained to her that I felt cheated. I only got one…

I've been trying to login to the SODE forum for over 24 hours now without success. It uses Captcha software to deter bots but despite entering a valid username and password the Captcha code rarely presents an image for the user to select the correct parts to gain access. It just keeps presenting this screenshot and then after a few failed attempts blocks the whole site for me for around 1 hour. Very frustrating. Can anyone who has an account there see if they can login please? I have wrtten to support but just want to see if it's a general problem or just for me. https://sode.12bpilot.ch/?page_id=442

I know there are a few train sim fans on here wondering if anyone has tried RAILROADS Online yet??? I have been playing it for the last few weeks and think this is the best train sim to date. It is still in Beta but the developer is updating it regularly. Best was I can describe it is kind of like the Farm Sim meeting up with Train Sim. It is an open world based in the late 1800's early 1900s, no tracks so it is up to you to link up the industries and survey the land, you start with a simple engine and small yard and go from there. It is better then any previous train sim because you interact with the entire world around you, not just the trains, and it is unlimited …

One of my parishioners, called for an interview at the Internal Revenue Service, asked his accountant for advice on what to wear. "Wear your shabbiest clothing. Let him think you are a pauper," the accountant replied. Then he asked his lawyer the same question but got the opposite advice. "Do not let them intimidate you. Wear your most elegant suit and tie." Confused, the man came to me, his priest, told me of the conflicting advice, and requested some resolution to the dilemma. "Let me tell you a story," I replied. "A woman, about to be married, asked her mother what to wear on her wedding night. 'Wear a heavy, long, flannel nightgown that goes right up to yo…

Today I learned that Scandinavian Airlines converted a shot down B17 into service as an airliner. Saw some pics from SA's facebook page, apparently they had several. Heard about it while watching this, Kind of curious now, from the windows in the one shot it looks like a passenger conversion.

I'll never forget as a kid getting a CVA Kentucky Rifle. Parents would not let me have a modern gun. Was fun but after 2 shots you had to stop and clean the bore with patches or you couldn't fit another ball down there. Rifles were fine for hunters, after all the deer run away at the sound a shot. Speed reloading is not as necessary as accuracy. But the Americans in the Revolutionary War used Kentucky rifles on a use 'em if you got 'em basis. But they wanted to bring a military weapon to the battle, not a hunting rifle, not a target rifle.

They're so easy to give. Just upload Swiss Colony or some other similar website, order a gift basket, supply an address to send it to, and give them a credit card number. No Christmas chopping or picking out that perfect gift for a loved one. No fuss. No bother. But the contents are cheap and terrible. Bland Cheese. Bland summer sausage. Stale candy. Tasteless crackers. And all that flavored coffee and hot chocolate nobody really likes. Soup mix nobody bothers to make. It's the new substitute for fruit cake. And almost all of it goes in the garbage sack. I'm telling the kids next Christmas no more gift baskets. I'd rather you didn't send anything.…

I fully get that Avsim needs money to remain operational. Managing and hosting a forum is not free. Just wondering tho if others are finding it annoying that there are adverts everywhere. I am finding that these adverts are affecting functionality of the forum. For example, I get a notification at the bottom of my phone screen saying Joe Soap has quoted my post but I cannot click the notification to see the quote as their is a word not allowed advert on top of the message. Very annoying when adverts affect functionality. Or is it just me? Sorry to admins if this is the wrong forum but it is the only one I really visit.

A big thank you to all the kindly people out there that post 'The Update is released' or words to that effect. Without those 'heads up's very few of us would have noticed the 'A mandatory update is available' window that appears when you launch MFS and prevents any further progress. Thank you once again. 😉

This isn't a new concept. When I was a young man you could order a car with everything you wanted on it (which wasn't much at the time). Then you would take the train to Detroit and walk down the assembly line and watch your car being built. Then you would drive it back home. I knew a couple of families when I was in high school who did just that. https://www.axios.com/cars-shortage-made-to-order-35d24a0f-690b-43f4-aa3a-3f65aef2969c.html?utm_source=pocket-newtab Noel

When did the military funeral ceremony change? I was watching an episode of Law and Order this evening and I was shocked at what I saw. The murder victim in this case was an Army veteran and was being buried with military honors. After the folding of the flag and the presentation of that flag to the soldier's parents the soldier who had folded the flag walked across the field a ways and then put the tone arm of a record player on a record to play taps. And there was no firing squad. When I was first in the Air Force I was on the base rifle team at Selfridge Air Force Base. We fired against marksman teams both civilian and military. …
