So I guess Steam is affected, but Valve guys claim it isn't a risk on any client-side steam app or game. Of course not sure I would place 100% trust until we get a little more fallout and get past the OMG phase. scott s. .

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fmijxHgnyr8&t=1634s A real gem just dropped on Youtube yesterday for 747 classic lovers; I haven't made my way through the whole thing yet as I'm busy with University work but I've been enjoying every minute! Geo-Sky is the only airline currently Permitted to Operate the 747 Classic in Europe, and one of the last commercial operators of the type overall. The aircraft in this has a storied history as well, and a testament to the 747's durability and the British Airways Engineering department! 4L-GEN was initially delivered to BA as G-BDXN in 1987 before being withdrawn in 2001, it was converted to a freighter and …

and light is always travelling at lightspeed faster than you... that's what I get told. and in the back of my head I was remembering hearing about something... scientists slowed light to the speed of a bicycle.. and so I was so glad to have found this video and I just have to wonder what it actually means. If light travels at different velocities through different materials and can actually be made to stop inside a cloud of supercooled atoms, then what is lights domain where it is always the fastest thing?

I had a dream last night where I was at a little tiny airstrip, the runway was little more than two ruts in the ground. Aircraft would come scream in and then screech to a halt. They weren't normal planes either, more like hot rods with wings...very odd. I crossed the "runway" then someone tried to cross behind me and almost got hit.

Apparently Congress has put in a request for any crashed alien artefacts or organic matter to be made available. I'm sure the clandestine echelons of the US government will now immediately hand over the alien bodies and working flyting saucers... not! 😁

This guy must really have a lot of patience. And apparently he does this a lot. kind of cool, but I definitely don't have the attention span necessary to stand around in the middle of a forest with my hand held out full of bird feed Standing in line for a few hours for a brand new 3080ti at Best Buy would be more my speed....

Watched an eisode of The Cosby Show yesterday afternoon and they were playing out what we were talking about just a few days ago. Denise wanted to borrow a sweater from Vanessa but Vanessa kept saying no. So Denise stole it from Vanessa's closet and went out on a dancing with it. When she got home and Vanessa found out the physical fight started. Lord how I remember those! Fights over clothes were the worst. Even fights over boys weren't as violent. My brother and I borrowed each other's clothes all the time just as a matter of course. What is it about women and clothes? Especially shoes! Noel

Heh-heh-heh, some interesting concepts here including white holes inside black holes that eject everything. Maybe a black hole is where your spirit goes when you die and if you get sucked into a white hole you are expelled into heaven. https://getpocket.com/explore/item/what-would-happen-if-you-fell-into-a-black-hole?utm_source=pocket-newtab Noel

I acknowledge this should be in the IL-2 ( 1C / 777 ) forum, but it would get lost there and the point is to show how I always feel the guys doing DCS and IL-2 really take our experience to the limits when it comes to graphics / VR ( well, here maybe AFS2 is an exception ) / and Flight Dynamics and verall physics modelling. They're always a reference, and I sometimes have to clean my brain from the limitations of the civil flight simulaton games and go there just to experience, even if just for a few minutes, how much better everything feels in there in spome aspects, and still, runs smooh and solid as I would dream to have in my civil flight simulation games ( XP, P…

One of my favorite guilty pleasures, I watched this movie anytime it was on because it had everything a kid could want. Godzilla and a ton of other famous monsters, heart thumping martial music, multiple attacks on major cities, aliens, a ufo, moon bases, rocket ships.... Essentially, this movie threw in everything and the kitchen sink, and I loved the battles between the human spaceship and the alien ufo..... It was in regular rotation on weekends every few months in New York, I think on channel 11. Memories.

I am now getting a banner add at the top of the page as well as the bottom of the page. And, when I click on a post to read it, a third add appears for a bit in the middle. I know it takes money to run this site, but can't we have something like a VIP option to donate some amount of money to not see these adds? I for one would be happy to do this. On my 17" laptop almost half the page height is taken up by adds. Add to that they are constantly flashing changing adds which is really distracting when you are trying to read something on the page.

It's a general Windows 7,8,10, maybe 11 tweaker that changes the way everything looks and acts. Like fonts. All menus, desktop icons, email messages, web browser messages, system fonts, status bar fonts, etc. can be set to different fonts. Such Ariel Black instead of Ariel. And larger size. This is nothing like the Windows Display Settings/ Scale and Layout size increases. The layout displays are all the same size and it won't make things not fit in apps. Actually you can tweak a zillion more settings in Windows, not just fonts. To see changes you have to log off Windows and then log back on with your Windows password. But you don't have to Restart or Shut Down Windo…

I once saw a movie titled 'The Crowded Skies'. It seems the skies are now becoming too crowded because of radio waves. I once asked a rhetorical question about how much radio wave energy your body absorbed just standing on the corner in a big city. Police and ambulance calls, radio programs, television, cell phones, aviation communications, anything producing radio waves. Now it seems the growth of communications networks are going to interfere with some aviation instrumentation. https://www.theverge.com/2021/12/7/22822875/5g-faa-rule-c-band-landing-airport-bad-weather-visibility Noel

This morning my wife came in with a handful of regular mail. She said the mail came early today. Christmas cards and bills. I said, "Where the hell are the catalogs?" She said we didn't get any today. WRONG! This afternoon at our regular mail delivery time the PO truck stopped at the mail and stuffed no less than 9 catalogs and Christmas offers from local stores. I have a special trash can just for junk mail. I have to empty it twice a week. Noel

Looks like the National Ignition Facility has generated more energy than absorbed by the fuel. Great result. Obviously not more than the entire facility but a great result all the same. https://www.sciencealert.com/for-the-first-time-a-fusion-reaction-has-generated-more-energy-than-absorbed-by-the-fuel

So my schedule takes me from Easton, Maryland (USA), to Bloomington, Indiana, tomorrow and this is what must be dealt with. Headwinds that climb severely if I choose to climb. Ha! Clearly the law of diminishing returns. This FltPlan.com plan is based on a Bonanza B36 and luckily I fly the Robert Young Turbo Bonanza A36 for MSFS. So I will gain some 10~15 knots TAS. But my best enroute time and burn due to headwinds is at 2,000 ft., a level I cannot fly due to mountains in West Virginia. So it will be either 2,000 or 4,000. And I am banking on getting a direct to from Wooly to CVG. If I had to stay on V airways the flight an burn would be +10%+. At least at 6,000 …

Do you remember when telephones sat on desk or small table in the house instead of in your pocket? Do you remember walking to school in the morning and walking back home when school was out? Do you remember when Mom had cookies and milk waiting for you when you got home from school? Do you remember changing your clothes after school and then going outside play instead of sitting in front of a computer? Do you remember choosing up sides for a softball or touch football game without uniforms or adult supervision? Do you remember dad getting the news of the world in 15 minutes over the radio in the evening? And speaking of radios do you remember…
