Well, just having returned from Hot Springs, AK yesterday, just in time to be caught on the road in this season's hardest showfall, the issue of my antennas has become seriously moot. There's at least three feet of snow on the roof at present. I had just taken over driving to relieve a friend who's been traveling with me when less than a mile down the road the vehicle I was carefully keeping in sight suddenly disappeared from view! We were instantly enveloped in a "whiteout!" I loudly exclaimed "I can't see!" The next thing I know we found ourselves stopped in the center grass median throughly stuck in a snow bank. We tried calling several tow companies, bu…

Or maybe there was an emergency gear system, that did not work either. Over 4 years ago I guess, so not a new story. "The pilot had circled St. Mary's County Regional Airport, in Maryland, for more than 90 minutes after he realized his landing gear was defective. An NBC chopper captured the drama from the skies as the plane finally came into land on its belly. Footage showed an incredibly smooth landing as the aircraft touched down, without its wheels, coming to a slow but steady stop."

I've already posted this to the P3D forum. I cranked up my P3Dv5.3 for a flight around the San Francisco Bay Area (ORBX NorCal scenery) and all the small boat's and ship's wakes go straight up into the stratosphere. I went to Seattle to test out Puget Sound and likewise all the boat's and ship's wakes are straight up. I haven't added anything new to the simulator or changed anything. Yesterday everything was alright but today the wakes have left the water and gone to the sky. Noel

Canada's proposal to store nuclear waste for thousands of years. https://thenarwhal.ca/nuclear-waste-ignace-bruce/?utm_source=pocket-newtab Instead of naysaying what Canada is doing and the WIPP site in New Mexico the naysayers had better come up with better solutions or accept what is being done now to store the waste. It's already here. It's not going away. And with new nuclear plants there will be more waste to store. Unless you have a better plan to submit don't keep saying tis won't work and that won't work. Tell us what will work. Noel

Requests to open Avsim or pages/posts take a little time these days. Sometime I get a 503 error. It is not my connection as any other site comes up as usual. No sweat but just to let you know.

We have Playstation 4 (PS4). Peacock Network is free, no charge on PS. All the Olympic contests are there, every match of every one of them. Mostly just curling being played today. Opening ceremonies tomorrow and several sports. I think Peacock is available world wide. We don't have a normal channels TV subscription, but Peacock is free on PlayStation without subscribing to anything.

They both get to sit wherever they want to sit. One of our cats has taken a liking to my wife's chair in the living room. When she is sitting in it my wife won't disturb her but sits in a different chair. Noel

Middle school humor never dies, it passes from generation to generation. I got these on the phone last night from my great grandson who's in the 9th grade now. I didn't let on I'd heard them when I was his age. The Golden River by I. P. Freely The Big Pile by Suzie Squatndropit The Russian Massacre by Major Kutchakokoff Noel

So at least I have something to do while I am stuck here waiting for surgery. My wife and I can literally sit here all day and watch these incredible birds in the yard. They have been incredibly active the last few days. Some interesting facts. The Females are larger than the males, at 4-5 years old they choose a mate for life and will not separate unless the other eagle dies, wingspan at full maturity is ~ 7ft, they cruise at ~40mph, can dive at ~100mph+ and usually live ~20-30 years in the wild... This guy had just caught a meal and was sharing it with his partner. We believe there are two nesting pairs with kids and 6 eagles total now. Some pics... …

Some of his novels were turned into movies and TV. 3:10 to Yuma (Glenn Ford), Hombre (Paul Newman), Valdez is Coming (Burt Lancaster), Joe Kidd (Clint Eastwood), Last Stand at Saber River (Tom Selleck) Jackie Brown (Pam Grier), Get Shorty (John Travolta), 52 Pick Up (Roy Schneider/Anne Margret), Out of Sight (Jennifer Lopes), Justified (Timothy Olyphant). Early this month FX announced a new series Justified II with Timothy Olyphant again as Marshall Raylan Givens.

I've posted about 3D printed homes before. The technology seems to be progressing nicely. There's even a new patent for a 3D printing tech that can be hoisted to great height on a crane.

Hello, I am a student planning to take a Private Pilot License and is looking for a simulator. I been googling and watching YouTube of mainly 3 software but cannot come to a conclusion 1) MSFS 2020, 2) XPlane11, 3) P3D I need a software that is most accurate in terms of flight physics as I want to practice maneuvers outside a normal flight envelope. Such as accident barrel rolls and vertical flights...etc. I have a high end computer and willing to pay for pay ware planes. Plane type will range from GA to Airlines. The most important solo goal is the accuracy of the flight modelling and weather dynamics.
