Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Looks like after the last patch the wind sock and ATC/ground is in sync yet when taxing the aircraft I'm fighting the wind in the opposite direction. Even on takeoff/landings the aircraft is pushed opposite of the wind direction seen from the wind sock. Anyone else seeing this?

Hi All, Am I missing something? When taking off or landing a jet airliner I really don't hear much runway noise. While watching videos of actual aircraft landing and taking off the Runway expansion crack sounds are very pronounced. This seems to be missing for me in Microsoft flight simulator. It takes away quite a bit of the realism. I have seen videos of FBW's 320 add-on and it seems to be present in that. I have tried all the sound settings and adjusted to no avail. I have also tested on Microsoft detailed enhanced airports and still the same. What can I do to get the sound more realistic when taking off or Landing a jet aircraft? Thanks in advance!

I'm at my twice yearly "shall I shan't I?" over moving from FSX-SE to another platform. Having been put off P3D by issues I'm prevented from mentioning (LOL) I now am reconsidering MSFS 2020. Everywhere I look there are complaints about failures to install, CTDs, bugs and so on. I have 38mb/s broadband, and i7 quadcore CPU, 20MB RAM, a GTX1050ti GPU with 4MB memory and a newly installed 250MB SSD - all of which ought to be good enough (I think). I'm going to lose quite a lot of paid-for FSX-SE add-ons (mostly P3D compatible) but is MSFS2020 now stable enough, and reliable enough to install, to make it worthwhile? My virtual dart thrown on the map landed in San Pedro MZ10 a small strip in Mexico and, surprise !, flying North to Xcalak MZSD I found tens of square kilometers of very nice watermarks. Worth a look if it is your thing 😉.

Hi guys, On this occasion I set the arrival procedure to LHBP in the 787 MCDU as instructed by the ATC (VOR DME 31R via TPS VOR, which was the predefined waypoint in the MCDU) and the a/c started a steep left turn. I thought "the usual autopilot bug" and decided to manually direct the a/c on the approach route. Then I noticed that the TPS waypoint the autopilot intended to track was NOT the TPS VOR on the approach path, it was another TPS VOR located about 190 miles west instead of 15 miles east. Hello, lately (maybe since the last patch?) I've found that the incoming ATC transmissions (ie everything other than what my pilot says) are very faint. At first I thought that it was the recurring issue where ATC doesn't work at all but it's only incoming transmissions and they're definitely playing, just very faint. Faint enough that I can't really here them in a normal flight situation. Same issue with Azure and offline voices. Same issue using my headphones and speakers. Sound mode is default, all volume sliders at 100% Any ideas?

In the MSFS weather settings there is an option called aerosol density. More important to me though (because i use rex) its also in rex. Can anyone give me an example of what this does if checked on in rex and is it better/more realistic to keep it on or off? Thanks so much.

Moderator -- I've asked a variation of this question in the "hardware, controller" forum, but I'm hoping this might pull more pertinent attention. Of course, please don't hesitate to relocate if appropriate. Can anyone provide a list(s) of avionics and flight control sim hardware that is basically "plug and play" with MSFS 2020? That is, not requiring a third party software utility and programming to make it fully functional? I ask because I'm getting to be more interested in flying the sim than having to work around hardware issues in order to operate it, Thanks, Brian

Hi Fellow Simmers. I remember when MSFS2020 first came out that you could move around the cockpit, eg left, right, up and down using the four arrow keys. The arrow keys now don't have any bindings, I've been into the settings trying to find the appropriate key bindings but don't seem to be able to find them, does anyone know if the bindings still exist and if so where to find them. Hello everyone, TLDR Cannot set custom cockpit camera views because camera seems to insist on using the view coordinates of a different plane. FULL I have set up custom hotkey cockpit views X-Plane 11 style where the view hotkeys are on the numpad (using the camera customization menu to bind numpad to the numrow) It worked really well for the Carbon Cub & the Cessna Caravan. I then downloaded a mod of the Cessna 172 (its a bush mod with big wheels). Using the arrow keys to move along the XYZ axis (just like I did with the previous planes) I began to set the views. Hi guys, have you tried to fly at high altitude? This is what I have now at 40,000 ft. Connection is fine and exchanging data without issues (600 Mbit fiber). Can we have something better at Ultra settings or are they preparing the graphics for the XBox 360?

I tried recently to play FS 2020 but i keep getting a warning message saying it can't find a specific path to the flight simulator.exe saying the specified path does not exist and says to check the path and try again.I am using the FS on another drive since my C drive is already to full to put anymore games on.

I have now spent some 5 very frustrating days since the update trying to get my Working Title G1000 to work without any semblance of success. When I have it installed, all my G1000 equipped aircraft (default and Modded) suffer the same problem. There is no speed indicated and the altitude and vertical speed indicator do not do anything. I just installed Aerosoft CRJ 550/700 for MFS2020 and prepared everything for the test flight but when I wanted to do a taxi to the runway I was disappointed: I can't manually control the throttle with F2 / F3 keys (Levers move but power stays on idle) . I didn’t find a solution on “the whole internet”. I just can't figure out that they didn't allow that possibility (you have to use a throttle quadrant). Is it that complicated? Would that reduce the quality of the product? What about customers who don’t have a throttle quadrant? Do they perhaps want to be different at all costs and thus hide their complexes in relation to PMDG? I just can't understand someone making softw…
