I know this plane has been popular amongst those who specifically what this aircraft. There are several out there of this general size and utility. However, for me who would use the in game Caravan (maybe even moded) for these types of flight, what does this plane bring that might entice me purchase? I know it is an excellent product, just looking to be talked into it I guess. Just curious, in other words, why this plane?

I purchased a few Carenado Aircraft when I started with MSFS. I had read many negative reviews about this Developer, , but decided to give them a try anyway. The first aircraft I got was the Mooney. The Mooney had some problems right away, and after a couple of weeks Carenado released a patch, then followed by another patch. At this point I had problems keeping the engine running after landing due to an idle speed that was too low and it seemed it had lost some cruise and climb power too. I put the Mooney in the hangar for a couple of months while I flew the DC6 and the Kodiak. I read a couple of weeks ago that Carenado had released some patches for two of my air…

Get ready to fly to the Mexican sun. Coming early April. Plenty of screenshots and it's looking good so far. They are releasing a 'complete' product rather than a Beta as previously, but promise reactive updates.

Hello all I have taken the plunge now and purchased MSFS 2020 from the steam store. I just need confirmation that I am doing the correct procedures as I am not conversant with Steam. I paid for the Deluxe Version and it appeared in my library. I pressed the big blue Install button and it downloaded and installed the launcher about 800 MB. Once done I selected MSFS on steam and the install button had changed to PLAY. I pressed that and another window popped up with MSFS and it asked me to log onto my Xbox account which I did. This window was labelled Installation Manager and 1 of 5. I changed the destination of download to a new SSD 1TB in size the E drive …

For some reason, my King Air avionics keep shutting off automatically after about 10 mins or so. I do the startup procedure correctly, gens on etc. But there is always an annunciator saying "Bat Amp" that never goes off even though everything that should be on, is on. I have the working title mods installed as well but just removed them to see if there was another issue. Can anyone lead me in the direction to fixing this? Thanks

The new Optica comes with a GNS530, or PMS50 GTN750, and now as a test: TDS GTN750. The Optica team have stated that they are looking at updates, so consider this a work in progress.. If you would like to try my TDS GTN750 mod, you can get it here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/5mll8uxgplmkp9l/tds-gtnxi-gotfriends-optica v3.zip?dl=0

OK, I decided to re-enter the flight sim world after a 15 year layoff and bought a new PC just for using MSFS ( Intel I-7, Nvidia 3060 12g, 16g RAM, 512 SSD w/1 TB HDD), 32" curved monitor, CH yoke and pedals. I've had it up and running for just under a month. While waiting arrival of the PC I studied this forum and there was a lot that didn't make sense to me (which made me a tad nervous). The PC arrived and the first few weeks have been pretty good, I even got the Staggerwing (great!) and FlyInside Bell 47 (not so great). However, the booting up process is frustrating. The "Installation Manager" immediately checks for updates and then apparently downloads stuff fo…

I dont write here often despite having had this hobby now for for almost 30 years and beeing a AVSIM member for I dont know how long. Anyway, I just felt I needed to ventilate a subject that have grown to annoy me a bit with MSFS and its payware addons. The issue I have is static aircraft! Why do payware developers insist on adding them. At least back in P3D and FSX days many develpers made them optional. It suddenly with the introduction of MSFS seem to be some sort of norm and so magically difficult to accomodate the customer to get rid of. One payware developer replied to me on why they had static aircraft "becasue I like them". Hard to argue of course with this logic,…

Not being a person who likes to do long boring jet flights - or any other for that matter - I miss the x2x4x8 speedups on P3D I dont seem to be able to get the same facility in 2020 I have a key bound to MISC. Sim Rate - and note the + and - - but I cant get it to work when in flight

I own the Flysimware Widgeon, which I really enjoy flying. The new Big Radials Goose looks a really well-done plane. But they both fit into pretty much the same niche. Any input from those who own both? Are they enough different (Pretty subjective, I know) to make picking up the second one if you own the other? Is there much of a difference in their handling? Please don't turn this into thread bashing one or the other producer. They both should be proud of their work.

Here are Montmeilleur and Mens altiports created by Emmanuel Richer. Montmeilleur and Mens are two neighboring altisurfaces of a few kilometers located in Trièves, south of Grenoble in France. Montmeilleur LFKK, code LFRR in MSFS2020, is the castle's private airstrip open to air traffic. Mens LF3828, a grass runway located on a hill near the town of Mens is used by mountain pilots. https://www.simvol.org/en/downloads/airports/montmeilleur-mens

Captains,A quick update to let you know that testing continues to progress on our new product for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The PMDG 737-700 for MSFS has completed four full weeks of very thorough testing, and has now entered into it's fifth week of testing with great progress being made.I predicted last week that I felt we would soon turn the corner, with progress being shown in the form of the development team resolving more items than are reported by the beta team. This is a normal pattern that emerges looking back at all of our beta programs and I was pleased to see that pattern emerge this week. The beta team opened 71 new issues this week, and the dev team resolve…

I have run into an issue on a few liveries downloaded for the FBW that when I drag them into the community folder, I get a message saying unexpected error "error 0x80010135: PAth too long". I thought maybe the file name was too long so I tried to rename it to something shorter but I didn't have the option to rename. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks!

I'd like to suggest a simple but fan enhancement to the in-sim Flight Log. As it stands now, all flights are showcased identically in the flight log. There is no special recognition or award shown in the log for a successful flight. Yes, the log does tally up your landings. But I'd like to offer a novel idea: If you fly using Real World Weather and in Real Time, and if you successfully takeoff and land your aircraft at the airport on your Flight Plan, then a small diamond -- or something like that -- should appear in the flight log along with the current information. It could be called a Diamond Flight -- or something like that.

Hey all, I just saw that MXI released Tirana LATI. I quite like flying in these parts of the world because of the beautiful, mountainous terrain. Also gives me additional destinations to fly to from Athens. I was wondering what people think of this rendition of LATI, and, more generally, of MXI? https://secure.simmarket.com/mxi-design-lati-tirana-nene-tereza-msfs.phtml Curious to hear your opinions.

Hi all, I have noticed on numerous visits to this airport that live AI traffic taxis into position on the active and just sits there before eventually disappearing, next one lines up same thing. I have noticed this issue on the 01/19 runways as well as 08/26. I am using AIG traffic. In my old days of FS2004 i thing you could move various nodes to alleviate this problem, can you do this in MSFS? Has anyone else noticed this problem, and does it affect other airports also? Any advice would be welcome. Regards Nic
