Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I'm running an Intel 6600K CPU overclocked to 4.5, EVGA 1070 8 GB GPU, 32 gb ram at 3000, a 1 TB M.2 hard drive and I have 160 GB of free space on my drive. I have a download speed of 15 mpbs. I'd like an opinion on how MSFS2020 would run on my system. Many thanks, Lewis

This morning, everything ran just fine. Installed Fs2Crew for MSFS. Started sim, CTD. Ok. Uninstalled program. No good. Emptied community folder. No good. Unplugged all controllers, no good. Shut down PC, restart, No good. When starting sim,no longer get start screen for FSUIPC. Blue status bar at bottom of screen gets half way done, stops, waits short while, and then right to desktop. No error messages or anything. No Clue.

For some reason I've lost weather up in my toolbar. It's grayed out, I can't activate it. Would anyone have any idea what caused this and how can I restore it. Thanks

Hello, running slowly out of space of my 500gb SSD I had a look at the files there. I see there that the first 5 monsteraddons are from Aerosoft, biggest one is EDDB with nearly 6(!)GB of data. So, I have now swapped the CGL folder out of my addons and changed the layout.json accordingly as I heard that CGL files are mostly photoground? Does anyone else has experience with deleting CGLs or could say what they contain exactly? When I fly over EDDB now without the CGL I do not see much difference (but have not made a special before/after comaprison) Only thing is a little ground anomaly one kilometer outside the airport. While the clouds in MSFS default are good, REX does a fantastic job at depiction. I wish they could fix the persistent weather injection that causes FPS hit. I did 4 flight yesterday and only one had the FPS bug show up. All the other were great. When the bug does show up all had had to do what Stop and START the service. Ever since I loaded the new SU8 update, I am getting some huge micro-stutters. Its almost like the game has frozen or crashed, the screen freezes for 3-5 seconds but the game appears to continue as the plane moves whilst the stutter happens. I dont think my PC is under any stress as I have an i9-900 and 3090 so my FPS is well within limits. After the stutter the game continues as normal but they probably happen every 5-10 minutes with no apparent reason why.... btw I am running nvidia drivers 511.79

On a flight from KSAV to KJAX, IFR victor airways, default scenery, default Baron, ATC instructs me to climb to FL 280! The fllight plan was filed for 6000 ft. I tried requesting a lower cruising altitude, but was denied. Finally cancelled IFR, and proceeded VFR. Is this a problem with the scenery or with ATC? I miss the old Radar Contact ATC. Dale

Pro ATC/X was one of my favourite add-ons for P3D and FSX. I loved the flexibility and the really good SID/STAR integration and the 'request direct to' features. Not to mention the amazing community support that continues long after things went quiet on the development front. I know that the developer was unwell and had to step back from working on the app. Does anyone know if Pro ATC/X will make a comeback for MSFS 2020? Do you think that the in-built ATC in MSFS will ever be improved beyond its current functionality? Cheers, Dave.

Yesterday after finding out abou LPBJ having disappeared from my MFS not being possible to place my aircraft there, and because I stupidly skipped checking at the official forum if anyone had already reported it, I decided to make a clean install of MFS. I had a backup with SU7, so I ran the installer and was prompted ( a firt time for me... ) if I wanted to install it into F:\xBox... In the past I naver had this option active, but I decided to give it a try. Noticed that appart from the usual system folders that the installer creates in y F: disk / partition, there was now also an xBox Games folder and inside of it a "Microsoft Flight Simulator" folder. May I suggest a permanent pin at the top of this forum regarding all the steps necessary for a Sim Update or a World Update?

I remember this forum being populated with WT news and threads. I do have some of their mods but flying the FBW product almost exclusively now I have not kept up the WT stuff. I recall that one of the members directly consults with MS now. However, I was wondering, have we seen any impact in the base sim from that move? It just seems like things have gone quite. Are they working on something big? Just curious about your thoughts.

Hello, I use windows 10 and the xbox version of msfs. I have download the update via the Store and then via the ingame update installer. However, when I load e.g Faro airport it's pretty much the same as before. So I think there went something wrong with the installation. I also had updates all the World Updates in the Content Manager. However, as I sad everything seems like the old version. What makes me also suspicious is that the new handcrafted airport are not shown at the world map when selecting your preferences within MSFS. Did I miss something? My sim says it uses version 1.24.5.0 -> is that the version it's supposed to be at after WU8?

I deleted most landing challenges, extra liveries for A320, A747 and other default planes, bushtrips, training flights in Msfs 2020 content manager. I thought that might improve the loading time but I noticed that it did the opposite, the loading time increases. I also use add on linker for airports, utilities and planes I need for a flight so the community folder is not overloaded. any ideas how to improve that, thanks I use Msfs2020 deluxe, intel 9900k cpu, 32gb ram, rtx3090
