Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Aside from being a cloud puff layer that looks totally unrealistic and in 2022 kind of embarrassing compared to the other technology in this flight sim, do I maybe have settings wrong or what is this supposed to be in the screenshot below? Looks like an inverted layer of puff from before FS98? Asobo PLEASE consider hiring a team of professional weather experts/artists much like you did for many other parts of this sim and FIX this substandard atmosphere. And it will SHINE! I've been flying the A320NX for a while now, always turning on AP1 after positive climb once I've cleared the runway. Auto pilot until I'm on the ILS or have visual then land manually. I'm wanting to improve my knowledge of the aircraft Here's a few questions, if you can reply referencing the number I'd appreciate it. What is the LOC button and where/when do you use it? What is the EXPED button? again where and when does it get used? What is ADF? Does RNAV arrival work in FBW yet? How does one fly a VOR arrival at NZAA? I can't find any VOR markers or charts. Haven't seen any posts about this other than comments SPAD.neXt causes CTDs with the new beta. That's bad news for anyone with eg Saitek panels like me. Are we about to see a finger pointing exercise where MSFS says SPAD needs to update their tool to be compatible with SU9, and no information from SPAD.neXt? Their Forum has nothing about this, and is anyway now set to read only. Updates are quite infrequent and I'm not holding my breath that there will be one by the end of April when SU9 update becomes obligatory for everyone. Suddenly, my account at the MS Store has deleted all of my purchases, including my initial purchase of the Premium Deluxe Edition! I am logging into my MS Store account, but none (amounting to $100's of dollars) of my purchases are listed. Is there any way I should go about trying to restore my purchases in the store? I cannot even consider a complete re-install because the initial purchase isn't listed! Many thanks for any advice given!

I'm on the SU9 beta, but have been away from the sim for a bit, so was wondering if this was a problem before. About every 30 seconds I get a spinning white loading disk at the bottom right of my screen and associated stutters which disappear as soon as the disc goes. Any idea what might be causing this, or is this the normal par for the course at the moment? My performance is solid 30FPS with default AC pretty much everywhere when the disk isn't visible. TIA.

The snow covering at airports makes it difficult to taxi. I can't see the taxi lines nor the edges of the taxiway. Night time is like Ray Charles trying to taxi. Is this normal? Gnacino

Hi Everyone, I have a CTD on start up now that I can't track down. The splash screens run, then I get the warning about safe mode, which I select. I see a view of San Francisco Bay, then the screen with three regions and giraffes, etc. Just after the halfway point of the progress bar I get dumped to the desktop. The last things I have done are to install and uninstall NeoFlight and The Skypark. I have uninstalled FSUIPC and reinstalled MSFS via Steam after doing a file integrity check. Can anyone sugggest what has gone wrong please? Thanks, Gareth

Greetings, Having my first major problem running MSFS. Haven't had time to use it for a while. I might be two updates behind. I wanted to fly t tonight and went to start the program as usual. I tried to run the program but got an app can't open message. It states Microsoft Flight Simulator can't open because it is offline. The storage device might be missing or disconnected. See in store. When I go to the store, I see the app and see There has been an error message. When I click on see details, I get a box telling me that something unexpected happened with an error code of 0x8007001F. I have been searching for a solution but so far have not found anything…

Every now and then I get this shimmering problem on the top 2 inches or so of my screen when I am panning. I have tried multiple nvidia control panel settings. Vsync on in the control panel and off in MSFS, then vice versa. But nothing seems to truly give me a smooth, non shimmering solution. I run a i7 12700KF and 3070 GTX. I have attached my current nvidia settings. I also use a 32" Samsung 4K monitor. I should note too that sometimes even when I am not using MSFS and just using my computer, sometimes my mouse cursor starts to lag and and will not move around my screen in a crisp way....leading me to believe again that there is something going on because aft…

From Lima today and really a lovely flight and cool landing! Oddly enough ATC announced all the right steps in all the right places for this challenging RNAV approach and landing, every step was perfectly executed by ATC! I think it does best when there are really challenging approaches! The Andes are just so amazing to witness from above!

I'm slowly beginning to use MSFS more. I've been in flight simulation for 35ish years (!) and have been solidly using P3D for the last few. I wasn't impressed with the early iterations of MSFS (I was actually part of the alpha and beta teams - which put me off!), but I am becoming more and more converted. One of the things that were hampering me was the different (and apparently less "good") camera system, so over the weekend I put a bit of effort into learning how to use it properly (or at least how it works), and suddenly realised that I could re-create "tower view" and fixed external cameras (something I was really missing), by using the drone camera and fixing it…
