Been out on a work assignment for a few solid weeks, but back at it with plenty of bandwidth to fly this summer. Did I miss out on any cool mods?

I didn't uninstall the current WT GN1000 before installing the Beta 10, now I have no idea which is which. Got to thinking about the version #'s (overthink) now I am sure I don't know which is new and which version is the old one.

So I assume we all enjoy using MSFS but we can also agree, things are never where we want them to be. However, instead of this turning into a long complaint thread of people's laundry list of things, if you could improve / fix / add one thing right now that would significantly improve your experience, what would it be? My own personal: Complete UI / UX overhaul. I find the entire experience clunky at best, slow and sometimes counter-intuitive. Especially setting up controls was a real test of patience at times. While I don't actively use X-Plane, their UI right now is fantastic. Fast, logical, to the point and it's almost scary how easy it is to set up co…

Recently, I been testing AIG TG with an OFF-Line setting and almost every time the TC closes on its own. When I landed at KDCA, I noticed that the TC had shut down and yet I still had some lovely liveries parked at their gates. I even saw an AA taxiing. What's going on here? Is it possible that we don't even need the TC with on-line mode?

The Pilot Plus team are pleased to announce one of our current projects, London Biggin Hill for Microsoft Flight Simulator! The Pilot Plus team are working closely with airport management to enable the creation of the most realistic and accurate digital twin of Biggin Hill. Biggin Hill is in the London Borough of Bromley, placing it within close proximity of Central London. The airport is a popular choice for private and charter flights and is rich with history, most notably the role the airport played in the Battle of Britain. The environment will capture the essence of the airfield and be at the level of detail you have come to expect from a Pilot …

This bird was working fine the first few times I flew it. Now after setting up the MDCU and everything as usual when I take off and down arrow the rate of climb, speed, and heading eveything stays stuck at zero. From every Airbus I've flown virtually (FBW included) you toggle these switches right after takeoff to lock in the AOA, speed, and heading before you turn on the autopilot (that's of course if you doing something more complicated letting AP get you right on the SID after takeoff based on what you have programmed in the MCDU). Everything was working fine initially now I have this weird problem. Thanks in advance for any help with this nagging problem. 🥴🙃

So I was perusing Steam and saw something that caught my eye. MSFS had over 36,000 reviews. Not downloads but reviews and 75% of them were positive. The other flight sim platforms on Steam were a fraction of that number. Not really a point to my post I just found the overall numbers impressive and 3 out of 4 reviews are positive which I also found surprising/impressive. Over 2M copies already sold. I guess it shows there is still a tremendous pent up demand for flight simulators and out of the almost 40,000 people who took the time to leave a review 3 out of 4 think it's good. Most of the time people aren't shy about saying something negative these days so…

The iniBuilds A310 thread got shut down, so opening this one... a small teaser on their discord with a new screenshot below. Thai military is a good fit, given that most of the IRL operators these days are the military from various countries. https://discord.com/channels/535246634448191499/784467650612822016/991482570342666300 "I know a lot of you are asking for more information. Development is in full swing, and I am sure you all are going to be excited for it when it is released! " For reference, their recent announcement with some details of the widebody Airbus coming (for free!) in the MSFS 40th anniv edition: https://forum.inibuilds.com/topic/5112-inibuilds-dev…

My sim is crashing lately, sometimes even without any error message in the event viewer. Is there meanwhile a solution as a autosave feature for this with a second dev? Has Asobo talked about a plan to implet it? What's about Fenix? I think they said back than, that it would be possible. Have they made sure plans about it? A crash would be much less annoying which such a feature. If I had the programming skills I would write I code myself, but that not given.

I'm not fond of Discord as a support chanel specially when private data that I really don't want to share with a flightsim addons producer is requested to participate in that chanel 😕, so, probably if I went there I could have found the answer to my query, but I opted for posting here - maybe some of you can help... Now, snce the release, and after a few glitches found, some with more impact like the "uncrab bug" that kills rudder authority on x-wind landings until the nose gear touches the ground, and a few more problems, I haven't heard of any Fénix updates / patches ? Is there a plan ? Have they mentioned any schedule for updates / patches ?

I'm flying along in my Milviz C310 tonight and I accidentally click on the edge of the dashboard. Lo and behold, clicking in one specific spot to the right of the compass makes an Albert Einstein bobblehead appear. Is this new? Any other funny little hidden easter eggs I'm missing?

Has anyone found a workaround to make the elevator trim wheel faster in fs 2020? In xp11 i think it uses some repeatable click on the button presses to make it tolerable, there doesnt seem to be that in fs 2020. I was thinking maybe some trick using fsuipc could be done? The yoke wheel only registers as button presses not axes. Thanks in advance

For me, it's "good documentation". Good documentation should be required for all payware planes. A good example of excellent document is DCS' documentation for their A-10C. 695 pages! An example of a plane with non-existent documentation: the default Longitude in the MSFS Premium Deluxe edition.

Well since there was an update for the CRJ the other day, i hoped it would solve some of the nav issues it displays during flight. Sadly it still cannot follow a route without constantly zig zagging along the route. Why can't they sort this? Every other plane i own works great!

Since the last two days MSFS is failing to keep real time synced. When I start the sim the time is synced, but after a few hours its as if the sim is stuck in a time loop and won't follow the real world time for an area. For example - yesterday I did a return flight from Malaga to Dublin, around the north western tip of France I noticed that it wasn't as dark as I know it should be, low and behold the time was at 17:00, when it was 19:00 in Ireland. France is an hour ahead of Ireland, so it should have been 20:00 and the sun should have been setting. The same thing happened today when on approach to Tel Aviv, it was still late afternoon in the sim when it should have…

I have downloaded a few liveries from flightsim.TO and after unzipping and copy to the community folder I get the following error displayed- Destination path too long. The filenames would be too long for the destination folder. You can shorten the name and try again, or try a location which has a shorter path. I tried renaming to a shorter name and then the livery does not work. Yet online there is feedback from people who like the livery. Am I doing something wrong?

I keep a few PDF user manuals filed away, and wondered if I was missing any that I never noticed. The file search utility that I use found them all in official (23) and community (33). I highlighted them all in that search window (Control + A) , and copy pasted them to a new folder to have a nice alphabetical library. Sure beats trying to hunt them all down one at a time. All of these type of free or pay search utilities work about the same.

New @Simmarket today. What a smart idea!! Skies are finally alive, with a bunch of helicopters, gliders and other flying objects crossing your route, regardless of your AI traffic settings, and without noticeable impact on performances. A must-have for VFR flights in Northeast USA. I did like the "Birds" series from the same dev, I really love this one! Congrats to him for this lovely addon 🙂

I started flying this king air mod. I know we're all bummed about the cockpit but this mod at least allows for compatibility with Working Title G3X. It's decent enough if you're feeling the urge for a twin turboprop. I haven't tried but the props should feather now when needed. https://flightsim.to/file/36292/tiger1962-kingair350-mod B350cockpit2 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr B350cockpit by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr
