Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Hi all I'm currently building a new system and I have two NVME SSD's. This system will primarily be used for flight simulation. One is a M.2 1TB PCIE4.0 (Upto 6600MB/s) and the other is a M.2 1TB PCIE3.0 (Upto 3500MB/s). This will be on an ASUS AMD ROG STRIX B550-E Gaming motherboard. If this was your system, would you put the O/S on the PCIE4.0 or the PCIE3.0? Thanks

First sorry forcmy bad English .. The latest LEAL update from pilots is a disgrace. Invisible walls in the taxiways and abyssal holes that destroy your undercarriage. I won't talk about the poor airport optimisation..... It's the first and last thing I bought from those people, I don't know how they dare to publish something like that when doing a 5 minutes test you realize it.It is an airport that has never worked well...

Not sure if it's just me but if I leave Rolling Cache on, close the sim, and restart my computer I never able to get into FS again until I reinstall the whole sim. This has happened consistently. Basically, if I fly in one area using Cache (west coast US) and then fly in another area later (Australia or East Coast US for example) when I reload up the sim it seems cache can't delete the previous area. It lets me fly in the new area but if I close out the sim that's it, game over especially if I shut down and/or reboot. I have to remove/delete my rolling cache before shutdown to avoid the problem where the sim won't load up casing me to have to reinstall the whole sim. …

I am new here, so this probably is a stupid question to ask. When I full throttle my Airbus, and it starts accelerating down the runway, approximately reaching 120 knots, the aircraft emergency stops kicks in everytime I try to take off from the runway. Anything I overlooked here that prevents the aircraft from taking off. Thanks in advance.

Hi all, I'm glad to present you my last cinematic video with DLSS ON, I'm really surprised by the performance with this new beta update.

First such type that I recall seeing in quite awhile, if ever. Climbing out this morning on my way to KSLC in my FSW C414 Chancellor Ver 2.7.0 FINAL I hit the bottom at about 5500 MSL. Exited and on top at about 7500 MSL. Everything looked pretty much as you would expect. Flat and solid at the bottom, grey and soupy inside, and nice white puffy top. Very satisfying. Any other SU10 users seeing similar, or was this a one time random event? 😃 -B

The final Beta for the Cessna Chancellor 414AW has been announced and is on Flysimware's site right now it is designated Beta 2.7.0

A couple of times I have thought about getting an X Box. That way my grand kids would have something to play when they stay over too. I was wondering if I have the Steam MSFS whether it would play on the XBox or would I have to purchase another version specific to that platform? Also which model of the XBox would I need to buy from an MSFS point of view?

I wanted to make a short flight in my area, so I loaded up the 152 with live weather. I took off and immediately decided I couldn't see enough to do anything, so once around the pattern and back in. So I loaded up from the same location, same live weather, in the 172. The skies were clear as could be. I prefer flying in the 152, so I decided to load up with that again, using live weather. Clouds and rain like before. What!?

Nav lights you see behave in a paradoxical way: when you zoom IN, they get SMALLER, and when you zoom OUT, they get LARGER. I really dislike the large blocky appearance and it may be that part of this is that I am zoomed out more than Asobo guessed I would want to be. Still, this behavior is oddly paradoxical! Hi guys, I have a 9700k, 32 Gb ram, 2080s gpu. I can run pmdg 737 with my rift s. 30 fps is decent enough for me but low 20s is horrible. I can run fbw320 also but it is a bit harder than 737. I wonder if the Fenix will be worth it on my rig. Is there any possibility to try the bird before buying. I don't mind spending 50 bucks for a plane but if it will not run in vr it is a no go for me because that's all I use for flying 😉. Thanks for your thoughts! Jozeff

I used to be unable to do longer flights (8+ hours) because by the end of the flight I would get less than 1 FPS. This is on a very powerful machine (RTX 2080TI, i9-10900k @5ghz, nvme m2, 32gb ddr 4 @ 3.2mhz). Was this bug identified and fixed in the last SU?

Hi, I am wondering if there is a way to edit the live weather, or I should say edit a snapshot of the live weather ? I just would like to keep live weather settings and change the wind direction so I can land on the runway I want. I often did that with Active Sky in XP. Pierre

Hey all, I have been a long time lurker of the forum. I have historically been using The Skypark for flights. It has become a bit repetitive and I find the cargo types break immersion for me. My airliner flying has been well covered with A Pilot’s Life V2 but craving some GA/Biz Jet routes. Any ideas out there for some alternatives for the above?

Hi folks. I stepped away from MSFS for a couple of months due to personal issues going on. Now I have moved and I just finished setting up my computers again. I have brought MSFS up to date and updated all add-ons that indicated they were needed. Today my questions just pertain to wind. 1. If I set up a flight and set the weather preset to clear skies, what does that mean about wind? Will there be any? Is there a way I can configure wind or is it just built into the sim in some way I can't control? 2. How do I see what the wind speed is and from what direction? According to the MILVIZ site this aircraft is in the works. MSFS2020 All those who buy the MV 180 EVO for P3D v5 directly from us will be entitled to a discount on the MSFS2020 version when released. I'm using SU 10 beta with DX12 and DX11 on both I'm having a little stutter on the ground and in flight after takeoff, I only use the experimental FBW A32NX and always updated. But I tested stable version 0.8.2 and development and continued to have little stutter. This has been going on since SU 9. So I did a test using the asobo standard A320 and the stutters disappeared. I have saved an FBW A32NX experimental version (5fd8a6a4) published on April 14, installed it again and to my delight the little stutters are gone. I know others have reported stuttering using other aircraft, but in my case installing an older version solved my problem.

Hello gents, I'm wondering if anyone can provide me with some pointers on proper usage of the mixture controls with the C414. So far, it seems rather haphazard in trying to achieve the best EGT. Should the mixture be gradually decreased throughout a long climb? As a separate question, what should I expect to achieve in terms of maximum altitude for this aircraft?

Hi guys, Quick question. I am thinking about using Aerosoft Navdata Pro for MSFS and would like to know if someone else has an opinion about it. Is it a good alternative to Navigraph? Its just i like the LIDO charts better than Jeppesen ones and Aerosofts charts software looks a bit more userfriendly. So if anyone has used it and can say something about it, i'd be happy to hear! I have been trying to set some cockpit camera views using Ctrl + Alt+ # (a digit 0 to 9). However, when I recall the camera view with Alt + #, the zoom level is way off. So it seems I am doing something wrong -- but what? Thanks. Al

Hi, I was wondering which in game setting has impact on 3D building radius. I was landing at KLGA and could see that Manhattan was empty, no buildings were popping out. Of course on the approach path close to the aircraft it was good. Is that the Terrain LOD slider ? Thanks, Pierre
