Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

According to the manual it should be possible to assign the SYNC button with toggle afterburner. But if I assign one of my buttons to that nothing happens. If I click the SYNC button it works. What is the problem here ?

It's apparent that 'quite a few' VRP assets are missing from FSX (not withstanding my Europe Base ORBX). To upgrade to the highest level ORBX of the UK would set me back 30 quid a pop so I'd be looking at about a ton. And there's no guarantee all the VRP's I'm likely to need would be included. So, as 2020 is currently at 60 quid should I move over? I'd be pretty word not allowed if I found some VRP assets were still missing, though. Exclude any discussion about the financial investment I currently have in FSX or the hardware required to propel msfs. What did you guys do?

PG has a lot of potential but server issues seems to plague it and users often complain about 'melted' buildings and a 'nuclear landscapes'. I have had as much myself but every now and then the planets align and tonight was one of those occasions while testing 30FPS locked in the Got Friends Optica. It was a butter smooth flight around New York and since it was going so well I thought I'd activate PG to load the system some more. This is what I got. Just Wow! Add this to the list of weird stuff the sim does for no apparent reason. I can't drag the world map to reposition it anymore. I have to put my cursor on the side of the screen toward where I want to go, then do a bunch of zoom ins and outs to get it to recenter. This started right after the sim "forgot" a bunch of my settings, like switching all assists to easy mode and losing some controller assignments. I didn't think being able to move the map around was bound to anything particular. Any idea what's going on and how I can fix this annoyance?

Using pause (not active pause but just hitting ESC) has caused my last two flights to be wild. As soon as I return, the engine is off and the plane is flying all over the place. I've been able to get it under control both times. But this has not been happening until these last few flights. I'm not sure what can be checked or what I could have added. It was a different plane each time. Changes/additions recently include: -Added SayIntentions.ai -Added Active Sky Any insights?

Simple Q: Do you guys have a preferred shop (or an advice) for purchasing ASFS? I'm thinking about updates, ease of installation etc. E.g. Aerosoft has it's own installer so managing it would be quite easy. Are updates going to be on that shop as soon as it's available or do I have to DL the update from HiFi directly (if even possible since the use of the Aerosoft installer).

I've attempted to fly the Longitude but always get the no take off warning. I've tried adjusting the trim to the correct position but it goes right back up. Any idea's or suggestions to get past this. Thanks guys!

While reading another thread this came back to my thoughts as it's one of the major quirks for me with MFS 2020 ... the loss of control when I use AltGr to popup / "windownise" a gven instrument that the aircraft model I am using allows to... If I am manually flying the aircraft I get completely isolated from my controllers and have to use the mouse to click outside of that window, or crash... This is really annoying and i puzzles me how they haven't yet sorted out how to solve it ? In P3D and XP I can gladly popup any such components without losing control of the aircraft ...

I'm thinking of getting FS Hud. I've never paid any attention to ATC since using MSFS (due to the default being so bad). I don't use voice, SI isn't for me, and FS Hud seems ok. Just one question! Is it possible to assign a button or keypress to bring up the main FS Hud window? What I'm getting at is, I don't want to have to alt-tab between windows to use the FS Hud window, and also don't want it displayed during the whole flight. So is it possible to use an assignment to bring up (and put away) the FS Hud main dialogue, when in the sim? Cheers.

MSFS2020_AutoFPS.exe was working perfectly yesterday. Now it starts a process and then ends with no error message, creates no log, and provides no other information. I have tried three different versions of the app with the same result. In each case I did a complete app removal and reinstall using the AutoFPS installer. The installer program reports that .NET 7 Desktop Runtime is installed. I do find the correct folders and files in the user\appdata\roaming.... Is there any update on fixing the reverser operations for the 787 and 747? The reversers can only be deployed below 80 KTS on these two aircraft, whereas all other airplanes with reversers are functioning correctly.

Hi, Is the Century IV autopilot in the Dukes capable of flying a coupled RNAV approach? I was flying an RNAV 01 into KFRG with GPS mode active on panel, APPR active on AP panel but it didn't seem to fly the approach correctly, especially the glideslope indication on the HSI. I figure given the age of the Dukes AP that it isn't able to fly this type of approach Thanks,

Was flicking through youtube yesterday and saw a video by islandsimpilot who was saying that MS were going to have to delay SU15 again today as there was a bug meaning that addon aircraft could not be used on Xbox. Has there been anything official on this or do they think they can fix it in the release version which I assume will land at 1600Z today if it is indeed released.

I seeing ND and PFD display freezing and uncommanded game pausing with this new beta in the fenix. Anyone else seeing the same. Two flights attempted and both failed with above issues on climb out. Sim remains active and I can close out normally, so it's not a CTD. I will try the PMDG 737 and some default aircraft in the mean time. I like to fly low and slow, but honestly those turbulences over forests seem to be overly done. Even with clear sky my plane is shaking violently as long as i am over the trees. Do you think this effect is well done and true to life ?, any possibility to tune it ?

Hi All, Just wondering if anybody has successfully been able to accomplish a non-stock , custom monitor Hz resolution accessible with DSR factors enabled. Apparently Nvidia disables custom resolutions when DSR factors are enabled and it is impossible or very difficult to get it to work with a custom Hz. I downloaded CRU to try to make a custom Hz default so Nvidia would accept it but was not able to succeed at my monitors native resolution of 4096 x 2160 42LX3QPUA. I looked up and down the internet for an answer and came up empty handed, wanted to see if anybody here was able to find a solution on their system. Thanks!

I just bought and installed the Duke then tried to run MSFS. I’m getting this message. I’ve never seen this before. Any idea what to do? I checked the “store” but didn’t see anything that looked like it would help. Thanks for any help.

I've installed the freeware Banditsim L-1011 Tristar but have found after a Hot start when sitting at the end of the runway prior to takeoff that there are lags in response to the mouse click commands. FPS seems unaffected. At the moment if I click on something it can take up to 10 seconds are so before there is a reaction. Haven't taken off yet. Anyone sorted out this aircraft & got it flying? (During another look at it I realized that the 'pauses' are in fact the Sim freezing for variable amounts of time) T45

I'm trying to tune the G430/530 radio using keyboard, but I can't make sense of the controls. As I understand it "COM RADIO" is used to toggle between "whole numbers" and "fractions", and "+/-" is used to change the values. I believe "+/-" is literally PLUS and MINUS. So I press "C" for "COM RADIO" and "CTRL+ NUM PLUS" and "CTRL+NUM SUB", but nothing happens. The web search results I've found on this subject are quite vague, but suggest that the above should work. And then we have "NAV RADIO", which apparently performs the same role for the nav tuner, but by default "N" also maps to "DISPLAY NAVLOG", which suggests these are neglected functions. Any he…

I've set all of my GSX EGLL gates to be Cargo Loader gates (no conveyor belts). I also set LGKR (corfu) gates to be cargo loaders so that it was realistic when arriving. But, on requesting boarding at EGLL, up comes the conveyor belt. I reset GSX and check the gate and it says Cargo Loader but still sends a conveyor belt. Same thing happened in LGKR. Can anyone help? Is it possible to remove just the leaning tower of Pisa from the game so I can add some photogrammetry to Pisa. If I add the PG now I get 2 towers.
