  2. Dating back to the initial release of MSFS, Juneau Intl has been afflicted with a persistent unaddressed bug that put the airport in an eternal state of winter year-round...in the middle of summer with an OAT of 25 deg, there was still snow covering the whole airport. Well, whaddya know, setting the wx with ASFS in preset mode fixes this. Just loaded up PAJN (the NSS add-on) with historical wx from last summer (15 Jul 23), and the airport is now depicted in all its green summer glory. Hat tip, Damian and Team HiFi!

  7. Started by Christopher Low,

Is there much of a difference between the HIGH and ULTRA settings for Buildings/Trees/Grass and Bushes in MSFS? I decided to switch these settings to ULTRA mode on my i5 7600K/GTX 980Ti powered PC, but it does not seem to have affected performance. I am just curious if there is any significant visual difference. For the record, I also increased my TLOD from 250 to 300 🙂

  8. Just wondering how many FPS people are getting in the sim with the new release? I have tried optimising Nvidia Control Panel, MSFS settings, deleting GXCache, DLCache and D3DSCache, setting AutoFPS to TLOD on ground to 100, with FPS target of 40 but it rarely makes 40. Seems to average out in the low 30s & is pretty stuttery at airports, particularly landing and taxiing to the gate its pretty bad. FYI, I'm running a pretty decent rig: sim installed on SSD, 32GB ram, Ryzen 7 5800X3D, 4070ti. At a loss as to what else I can do for a smoother experience?

  11. "A new beta build (1.37.16.0) is now available for all platforms. This build contains updates to the A310 and A320neo V2. Full release notes will be posted tomorrow. We are aware of the WASM issue preventing you from flying many add-on planes, as well as the performance and stability reports on Xbox. The team is working to address these issues for the next beta build."

Are there any tools out there that can listen to communications on Vatsim and convert the speech to text log on the fly? The times that I used Vatsim the controllers sometimes speak too fast. It would be real useful to have a log in a separate window.

Well..... The price is low, but I'm still reluctant to be the guinea pig. Anyone else want to try this out and report/ The one video I found looked kind of more like a special effects tech demo than an actual flight.... Overdone? https://secure.simmarket.com/south-oak-co-real-effects-a320-neo-msfs.phtml

Hello everyone. In anticipation of the upcoming release of the Black Square Dukes, version 1.0 of the open-source KLN 90B has now been released: https://github.com/falcon71/kln90b/releases/latest This project has been a labor of love for this old and clunky, yet very capable GPS unit. While the device is horribly outdated these days, I hope you too will feel that mastering it, is a very rewarding and unique experience. Version 1 was developed solely based on the real manuals and some videos and photos I found online. I'm sure there will still be bugs left and cases where the KLN does not behave exactly like the real unit. If you have access to the real device or…

  16. After 40 long years of flight simulation and almost 4 years of MSFS I don't think these 'as-real-as-it-gets' expectations are unreasonable. The four things that will really disappoint in MSFS2024... if MSFS still has: 1. Dark lines on the water. Black lines in the water - Bug Reporting Hub / Scenery and Airports - Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums 2. Suicidal ground personnel. Airport ground crew are they just stupid in MSFS2020? - Discussion Hub / General Discussion - Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums If Prepar3d can do crew animation, you can do it too! 17. Started by Konterhalbe,

Hey there, every 15-20 flights, MSFS resets the sim time by an indefinite amout of time. I have just departed LFLL at sim time 1245z (my local time 1645) and after half an hour (my time 1715), it's 1240z in the sim. A month ago, sim time has changed by 1-2 hours. Anyone else having this and anyone else got this issue? I'm wondering, if I am pressing some keys unintentionally or why this keeps happening? Cheers!

  18. Hi all, During the development of Reset XPDR’s excellent Auto FPS app, it was revealed that frame generation in MSFS stops when MSFS loses focus (like when you click on another app for some reason). Frame generation resumes when MSFS regains the focus. Does anyone know more about this? I’m frequently using other apps, and I’d love a situation where MSFS continues with frame generation, no matter where the focus is within windows. Is this possible?

What's the best aftermarket scenery for sightseeing low and slow around Pearl Harbour? The default I've just tried wasn't all that great - seemed to be missing some rather.. large.. items from the area, and another one seemed oddly misplaced.

  21. To be more precise: Release sooner without AI traffic OR release later with AI traffic. Here's the poll link: https://forms.gle/UQcu7KA7tDw5oaHg6 Personally I've chosen "sooner", I'm quite happy with AIG + AIGround + AIFlow, what I really need is a humanlike immersive ATC that works. EDIT: And here's the discord link explaining the poll: https://discord.com/channels/1082413096045391915/1117850343607369888

He is right. This has been really bad for ages and it does seem to be getting worse. I've not used DX11 for ages and always assumed it was a DX12 issue. I do notice it more when I am using lower TLODs (with AutoFPS). As the MSFS team don't seem to have any idea of the cause or how to fix it, would anyone here like to offer their thoughts, opinions and experiences?

  23. Hi flyers Not sure if this has been asked before. Can you recommend Thrustmaster Airbus joystick sensitivity settings I can use with the Horizon Sim 787 mod please? At the moment my Thrustmaster Airbus joystick sensitivity settings are configured for the Fenix A320 and it is difficult to fly easily using these settings on the Horizon Sim 787 mod.

  24. Started by TWSY,

Just happened today. Voice informs me of the % loading. Then the voice repeats every I select. Is this something new or did I accidentally turn on an option? If so, how do I turn it off again? OK found the culprit. Screen narrator 😡
