Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Lately, I have been experiencing an issue with my PC or MSFS2020, despite not making any changes. When I select an airport, it automatically defaults to a specific runway. For instance, at KEWR, the default runway is 22R. However, if I try to select a different departure runway, such as 11, it reverts back to 22R. Strangely though, when I select a parking position, it works fine without any issues. Has anyone else experienced a similar problem? If so, do you have any suggestions? Thank you.

Wondering if anyone else is seeing this. I will notice that the sim has suddenly turned into a stutter fest from time to time. If I move my mouse I notice it is a bit larger than normal and not as crisp as normal. When I click on MSFS (which is full screen BTW) it is like MSFS regains focus, the screen almost "pops" like it is refreshing, mouse becomes crisp and sharp and performance returns to stutter free with no issues. So it is like something is stealing the MSFS focus despite it being full screen and it completely transparent in terms you never see the window focus change as an end user. Is this exclusive to me?

Is skydiving modeling available for fs2020 simulator?

I'm hoping someone can help me with figuring out why I can not engage the auto pilot. Every time I try to turn it on it starts to engage (light comes on and the yoke starts to turn or bank to heading) but then shuts off. Normally, this would be a conflict of a hardware controller that is assigned but I can not find any in all my settings that would be the issue. I have both the Honeycomb Bravo and the Real Sim Gear Garmin AP 500. It acts the same on both the ground and inflight. Any thoughts on what I am missing? many thanks for all who help.

A few posts here at AVSIM yesterday and today refer stutters with a higher than usual frequency and duration / effects on sim sesions during May 9 2024. Would like to get and overall idea of your own experience regarding this.

Hello Simmers, I had very good luck with this addon until they just patched to another version. In the documentation they talk about setting up the speed in the MCDU or ? My problem I take off all good. But Aircraft blows past my speed setting in the AT control. Always at max 320-330Knots. If anybody has solved this or has a tutorial they can share I would very much appreciate it. I really like this aircraft but I am sure it is something I did? Please let me know if anyone can help.

I have used FS2020 Store Edition now for several years. To launch\start the sim I use the "gamelaunchhelper.exe" from the Content Folder. This has always worked OK for me. Today when I tried to start\launch the game this method did not work to start FS2020. I have no idea why. It worked fine yesterday. Any help\suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Herman

Is there a list of assignments for the Black Square Dukes to assign hardware controllers? I have a few hardware controllers that I would like to assign various inputs to like Gen 1, Wing fuel pumps, Starter On, Ignition auto...those kinds of switches but not sure which ones work the best in MSFS.

Was flying in northern Wisconsin this morning and there was no snow on the ground. According to Meteoblue, there should be snow on the ground (anyone here from northern WI can confirm?). Have any of you had snow cover issues in SU14? They said snow cover should be better.

Hi, I was mostly using other sims over the last months, so I may not be up to date: My MSFS 2020 from the Microsoft store was always located in the %appdata% location (the packages) and the actual .exe in that "hidden" location. I now noticed that during one of the last updates, the .exe was somehow located in c:\xboxgames. When did Microsoft change to this location? (Not that I would complain. I like transparency, so having access to the game files feels somehow good). Is there anything one needs to consider or take care of due to this change?

Hi, I just jumped into the Fenix B2 with the Frontier N909FR liverie from flightsim.to and started refueling with GSX when all of the sudden there is no movement of clickspots in the VC. I can here it and going to drone view and back to VC the action has taken place. Also using the EFB is not a problem. Anyone had this ? Its like something is blocking . My TCA is also not responding visually (posistion is changing if going from Drone to VC) Thanks Michael Moe

This happened out of nowhere - My setup is an X52 stick and throttle that worked perfectly 2 days ago. I made not changes to the setup. I will use the Cessna 172 in my explanation. When sitting on the runway with the engine on the engine runs perfectly. When I power up and begin the take off run, the engine throttle is reduced without input throttle input. When I attempt to increase throttle, the cockpit throttle goes haywire as if it is receiving input from somewhere else and is wrestling with my own inputs. The mixture knob does the same. I tried resetting control settings, resetting my X52, checking for control conflicts, etc. I even tired disconnecting …

Once take off speeds have been calculated on the ground, I turn on AT ARM and FD and I get TO/GA TO/GA on PFD. When I arm LNAV and VNAV, the LNAV replaces TO/GA (VNAV is armed in white underneath). TOGA should remain on both with LNAV armed in white.

According to ICAO, "An altiport may be defined as a small airport in a mountainous area with a steep gradient runway, used for landing up the slope and for take-off down the slope, thereby making use of only one approach/departure area." Love the PMS50, but the other day I went to pop out PMS50 screen onto another screen and nothing, well not quite nothing, I get a slight screen flicker and then nothing. I looked at all my monitors and made sure it was not hiding. Has any one ran into this?

Then I deleted rolling casche and it was perfectly smooth again. Does anyone know why this happens? I have a Ryzen 9 4080 card.

I bought all of Active sky products in P3D etc, I did not buy AS for MSFS. I did go back and try REX again. I have had but experienced memory issues early on. I always did like the depiction better than MSFS but the issues I could not deal with. With AS being released and seeing some vids of it, I thought I would try REX again. Man, over the past 5 days I have been impressed with the depiction and accuracy. Is it perfect, nope. but dang believable.
