I remember one of the Feature Discovery Series films (Cockpits, as far as I remember) and the "virtual" checklist, where subsequent instruments were highlighted in green. Do you know if this kind of checklist already works for smaller aircraft in the current alpha, and - most importantly - if it works in A320 and B747 cockpits? Thanks!

This video (https://youtu.be/BWQGI7tffWM) on IFR leads me to believe that my goal of keeping add ons to a minimum may be realized. It appears that a decent map system, flight planning, and ATC may be built-in. Of course, there will still be add ons available to compliment these and add further detail. But, for a change, I want an out-of-the-box experience that just works.

Am I alone not to care much whether I am in the alpha or not ? Good if am in, good if I ain't. Any case, the sun shines, the flowers bloom, the wild grass grows, the bread dough is rising and the cat is hungry. Plenty to do. Including waiting for the next IFR EP 😉.

Love to see this level of commitment from the top. I asked him if he's going to implement anything he's experienced in the sim but he's understandably tight lipped lol.

This thread is Part 2 of the What We Want thread. This topic is here to summarize all the community wishes for this new sim in term of features. Please do not talk about price or business model. Keep it clear and consize, like a simple list. Thank you

Dear Asobo Loving all the screenies and I am sure I can say that we are very much looking forward to the IFR video later this month but at some stage I would love to see a full flight even if its just the Cessna doing a short run from one GA Airport to another maybe Darrington to Concrete in the Seattle Area which is about a 10 minute flight. You may be waiting for the NDA to be lifted before we can see anything like this but I thought there is no harm in asking...... Many Thanks Hamish

Just curios, but what time of day do the weekly updates usually go out? I live in Europe, and I won't see them until Friday morning, cause they're never up when I go to bed (usually around midnight here in Denmark) I don't mind waiting to Friday, but wondered if there's a certain time they usually upload them If you could give the time in UTC, please, that would be great.

No has mention this yet but Microsoft has hinted things on it and other users have suggested what Microsoft wants to do long term. So some ideas This is a united effort Microsoft cannot do alone. 1. Why Don't Microsoft open development more like kick starter so it can really bring in all the relevant feedback it needs? 2.it has partner with aviation and tracking companies but why not call in other business like major architect firms? They can put in their models of the city and use it as a way of display their work to other companies and everyone else so much can be done! No need for photographics tricks a full 3d model building to be in the simulate world…

If you want to see the tech being used in MS2020 it is based on Bing and Azure, the exact same technology used to drive the Windows 10 Store App called Earth View - Map 3D. When visiting the locations shown the trailer in this app, they are pixel-for-pixel identical. The app streams data to your PC in the exact same way as Google Earth 3D does. I expect that the simulator will likely allow users to set a local disk cache size so when revisiting a city the data does not have to be re-streamed. /end_speculation 😉 To download this free app: 1. Windows 10 - Microsoft Store 2. Search for "Earth View" 3. Install the app Run the app, click o…

I remember un boxing my sidewinder force feedback pro joystick over 20 years ago and pairing it with FS98. I was wondering if any of you still had interest in the novelty and whether you had any expectations for the upcoming MSFS. I personally would love a joystick rendering turbulence and vibrations accurately (landing gear, flaps, wind, etc.)

We have had a few leaks, but if you read some of the comments on the latest MSFS youtube vlogs (which are great and informative and do not breach any NDAs), 'alpha testers' are making comments (or replying to comments) Not sure if these could be the same alpha testers venting though.... IF they even are actual testers. Eg, check the comments on this nice VLOG, the vlogger even briefly discusses the issue.

Mission can be integrated into the world if there are simulated people wanting to go too different destinations. Pilots will need to create routes for these people travelling to and fro these places. This is a flight simulator not a game! Well Truck simulator has this in their game in delivering goods and having this increase the simulation as Pilots will always have interesting objectives to do then just fly to point A and B! They can build reputation be known as a pilot that meet the needs of people who like to go on holiday or even rescue missions from disasters that can occur whether natural or man made. It keeps the game exciting over many years as that i…

The IFR discovery series on May 28 looks like the last feature series, at least until late July. Do you think it's the last one or what would you like to see in a Feature Discovery Serie? I personally would like to see more about the AI Traffic, both sea, air and land Maybe the air ai will be covered in the IFR episode, like how they will allow a user to be able to ie. take off, if there's a steady line of live ai landing.without having to wait for "hours".

So we've all been drooling over the beautiful photogrammetry of MSFS for the last few months. Done well, this PG can create a flying environment of unparalleled visual accuracy and realism. Microsoft is obviously super heavily invested in PG technology, as well as spending untold but seemingly enormous amounts of money on MSFS, Azure, and a huge new internet backbone. The purpose of Azure seems fairly clear, and 2D mapping for various location services, like Bing maps, is understandable. But (accepting the high risk of seeming dense) I find that besides for being thrilling the eye, and cool to swoop over in vr, I'm not quite sure what commercial purposes ex…
