  1. This screenshot seems to summarize nicely the 3 types of infrastructure we could have in MSFS Extruded footprints, similar to what we call "Facades" in the other simulator. Generic (ready made) 3D library infrastructure (classified per region) placed procedurally. They are those with more details on the roofs I suppose , and don't match the exact footprint. Custom 3D landmarks Edit: Ok now I see what looks like extruded footprints with details on the roofs ummm

I am kinda confused about this one: Some photos show the Alaska hangar at KSEA in blue colour and some show it white...which colour is it actually at this moment in real life, blue or white?... Below I have attached some images depicting where its white and then blue. This first image is a footage of how it appears to be modelled in the MFS2020: clearly from above the hangar is white. These two following real life photos show clearly a blue Alaska hangar at KSEA...again...which colour is it at the moment in real life?...if it is blue...then I guess the developers will have to correct that...unless I am wrong of course.

April 30th, 2020 Development Update POSTED BY: MICROSOFT FLIGHT SIMULATOR TEAM Screenshot by RentalCanoe6839 As we bring April to a close, the team remains focused on the core deliverables needed to bring the next iteration of Microsoft Flight Simulator to market. We are pushing to release an updated DR on 05.07. PARTNERSHIP SERIES The current health challenges have added a…

A comparison of Ibiza in real life (Google maps) And in the new sim I don't know about you guys but the difference is clearly noticeable...specially in the depiction of the colours ...notice how in the real areal photo the land vegetation is lush and vivid green and also the ocean water looks deeply and vivid blue. Hopefully these things will be corrected, even though I highly doubt that they will. Oh well...I guess this where the add-on developers will have their chance...because there are clearly lots of improvements to be made scenery wise and also in other areas, this is of course taking into consider…

Please Microsoft/Asobo: We have seen great footage in the previous discovery series of the wonderful cockpits and exterior models of general aircraft and we are truly impressed by the incredible attention to detail and craftsmanship!...and they all look stunning!... But now its time for us to take a look at heavies, like 747 777 767 737 and so forth. Even though we have gotten little glimpses of the cockpit of the Airbus Neo...but it would be nice to have a discovery video especially dedicated to showcase in detail the interior cockpits cabin and of course also exterior of the heavy models. And please include the 737-800 in the sim! …

I have already signed up for the alpha insider program last time, but I just heard that from now until Sunday if you update your dxdiag info, you will be registered into the next wave of invites. I'm confused on what I should do, since I have already done this already and still haven't gotten any emails regarding access to the alpha build yet. I'm afraid if I re-update dxdiag that I might further miss my opportunity and possibly push me down the list.

I have been a flight simmer most of my life. After transitioning to Xplane11 from Microsoft. I had stayed put. I even ignored all the hype behind Microsoft flight sim 2020 until just this week (The reason I didn't being, so many sims have fallen short) But after watching numerous videos and screenshots I can't help but think this could actually happen and be the future of flight simulation! Providing, that the actual flight model is of course up to the challenge? My questions are these, if anyone has any information/facts, or if there are any alpha testers here I'd love to know.... A - What will the sounds be like? Will we hear the wind? Sounds in general, I'm hoping f…

  8. I'm really curious as to how the coverage is in Asia. I really hope that with all the new technology that Asobo and MS is using that we'll finally be able to get a decent rendition of this often neglected region with past iteration of flight sims. I'm glad that North America and Europe has the best scenery, but I really hope that Asia will be up to par in the release of MSFS 2020.

I was thinking due to all stuff happening in this digital world, the processor is going to be very busy, especially when things are happening all at the same time. I'm thinking about things like complex weather generation, AI generation including cars, boats, and ATC processing etc. It's possible, especially when not having the highest specs processor, that this will generate (micro)stutters, as the processor is busy calculating primary tasks for local wind flow and aerodynamics of all the different air surfaces, etc. Wouldn't it be an idea to have the possibility for network client PC('s) taking away the workload I mentioned in the first sentence, so that the s…

MS, what about some info about the improved AI and ATC systems that have been implementing? Or, maybe it is all the same as in FSX. Hope you can fix, - trees ( they are too large now) - waves to big in rivers and lakes ( they look like they are the same as in oceans) Don't misunderstand me. What I have seen so far, blows my mind. It is my dream come through. But, a lot want more:)

Hi all, I feel so stupid right now, I have my Gmail fetching emails from my Hotmail account via POP servers. I just realized today that it's probably not fetching the Junk email in Hotmail so I checked my Hotmail Junk folder and found an email from MS mentioning a survey regarding the latest Alpha update. Does that mean I'm already in the Alpha? Any idea on what to do now? Any chance I can still join the program even if I missed the invitation email?

An article on FS20 in a French magazine, nothing new really but I liked the end. Translation is mine so would be the errors. We have been focusing on some relevant priorities for a flight simulator, in particular according to the feedbacks from our testers, but we keep on beefing it up. We will refine our representation of the Earth, for instance, adding the road or maritime traffic, forest fires or animal migrations, up to be near of having a digital twin. But that will take years. An ambitious project which goes beyond a flight simulator proper in the long run . But as the saying goes, in the long run we are all dead so let's have a good simulator in 2020 😋 …

  16. https://vr4dcs.com/2020/04/27/microsoft-flight-simulator-2020-isnt-what-you-thought/ "It has become painfully obvious that Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 will not be the beautiful VFR/IFR capable high-fidelity simulator we were hoping for in this massive re-do of the classic Flight Simulator family. In fact, so far, it is not at all displaying what Microsoft touted as being “focused on pilots and long-time flight sim enthusiasts with learning capabilities for those just beginning.” MSFS 2020 is without a doubt the most visually stunning representation of the land, sea, air and weather ever depicted in a flying simulation. The beautiful part is spot on. The flig…

Hi all, The live real world traffic could be truly awesome if it’s as I hope. I am wondering whether it applies to all air traffic. The skybus, lands end to Scilly isles is a small company. Will I see them taking off in sim at the same times as real life? Or do you think it will only apply to big airlines

Dear Microsoft/Asobo development team; A "humble" Wishlist: Different simulation options like a basic option in which anyone with no particular skill level can just get into any aircraft and fly and just enjoy what it feels like to be a captain in command. Needless to say this option would have to include some kind of AI to completely operate the aircraft from starting configuration on the ground all the way to the landing. The only thing left for the user to do would be to choose a departure location and a destination location and also the user will have the option to make in flight videos and use the camera systems. This option would be like if you want…

  20. Hi there, I recently purchased the PMDG 747-400 and 747-8 expansion pack just a few weeks ago and im planning to purchase the 777-200 as well. I am also planning to purchase MSFS2020 when it is realeased and I am wishing to use my PMDG 747 in it. Although I worried if I have to buy a new one. I know that PMDG is switching its entire focus to the new platform MSFS2020 and that they will also stop sale of PMDG products for other simulators. Knowing that I will be purchasing the PMDG 777 soon, I'd rather use both 747 and 777 in one simulator. So I am wondering if I can use my 747 I purchased for MSFS2020. I've heard and people have told me that I won't need to buy a ne…

  21. Hi all! New forum user here, planning on migrating from X-Plane 11 to FS2020 when it comes out. I have been trying to see if I can find any mention of some sort of "persistant universe" to borrow a Star Citizen term, or an in game economy with missions/jobs to fly passengers or cargo, plane maintenance, rental, hubs, all the good stuff you get with FSEconomy but integrated into the game itself. Is this planned, has there been any discussion of it? Or has there been any news from FSEconomy themselves on integrating with FS2020? I currently fly in Elite Dangerous when I need my mission related relaxation kicks, but if something smooth could be implemented in FS2020 I t…

I have just opened the Bing Maps page on Wikipedia, and I saw with disbelief that the last map update took place in 2010. So if I'm not mistaken, it means that in Flight Simulator we get a world that is very out of date... A closer look at my neighborhood on Bing Maps just confirmed it. Are the other towns you live in also like 10 years ago in Bing Maps?

Going off the discovery videos, official screenshots & videos and what info is found from the main MSFS page...heres my thoughts. If MS and Asobo can deliver a base sim that offers all that they are working on for this release then I feel we are more than 90% overall to the best possible sim we have ever seen. I can't see one area that falls short of being almost as near complete leaving only small improvements or a tweak here or there. ATC: MS introduced ATC in FS2002 and it hasnt changed since then. The biggest aspect that was left out was SIDs and STARs. With those now in the sim, finally us users can fly full IFR routes using default ATC. Additionally it see…
