Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I started the sim today and all airports look like this. There are also grass on runways. Anyone else have this issue?

Spring season is done for the following areas: Australia - (western part) New Zealand (all expect desert and high Mountain area) Japan (all areas) I setup spring trees to show within cities only. It didn't make sense to make all mountains pink/white/purple. I think it looks best like this. All others countries still have spring colors but may have wrong colors outside cities or on mountains - So I only recommend using this mod for Australia, New Zealand and Japan. Just flew the US West coast mountains with METAR showing 400ft overcast with snow 1/4mi visibility. Saw lots of cloud cover over the Sierras and then CAVU blue skies over the airports?! offensive initials not allowed? Is anyone getting proper weather? Where is all the overcast and snow?

I have flown in several small cities in Latin America and others regions and noticed that these cities are not accurately represented. I see a lot of farm houses and uniform buildings throughout these locations. I guess only major metropolitan areas are more realistic and accurate. By the way, I also purchased LOWI from Orbx and did not sense a major difference from P3D. Am I missing something mates? What can you tell me about the sceneries in general and are addons worth buying?

Is it possible to just "change planes" in MSFS. Say I land at any particular airport in one particular plane. Now, I want to stay right at that airport, and just CHANGE PLANES. I'd like to just select another aircraft and not have to go through all the "back to menu" or other moves. I just want to pick up where I left off with a new plane. Is that possible some way in MSFS? I have been trying to get the aircraft in MSfs2020 to work. I don’t feel there is a reasonable IFR aircraft available. The small VRF aircraft flown by hand, operate OK but are so slow you really can’t go anywhere. The scenery is impressive, but the weather is very unreliable, and the map nav waypoints are often incorrect. I don’t know when or if Navigraph will work with MSFS2020. The autopilots track for a while, but often the aileron and rudder trims are not set correctly. If you touch anything to correct, the aircraft will go into an uncontrollable spiral. I'm opening this thread because I don't want to hijack the other one already opened with a different purpose. Two open questions: 1) Do you agree that each update is reducing the visual quality of MSFS? I have four main issues: a) Water masks b) Water quality: now it's very low; in August it was great everywhere with notable wows in tropical seas c) Visible scenery radius has been decreased d) (Probably a consequence of c): frequent scenery popping (which was practically nonexistent in the first version) 2) Any idea on what the reason may be? My premium MSFS is fully updated but no airplanes are available except the TBM and C150. What did I do or what do I need to do to reclaim all the missing birds? Mike

Does anybody know how to set the trim (aileron and rudder)? I have considerable problems having the aircraft flying "straight and level." Any flight changes to the trim cause an immediate, almost uncontrolable spiral that usually ends in a crash. I have reviewed the Flight_model.cfg in the ...\Official\OneStore\asobo-aircraft-generic-turbo-singleengine and cannot see what could be corrected. Is there a known solution? Where should I look?

I searched but could find no entries about ORBX version of REX WX. I am just wondering if anyone has tried the ORBX version, it is probably the same. But I was hoping the registration and updates would be easier using ORBX. Reading the manual it looks, on the ORBX website, like you have to download and install the same way as if you buy it direct from REX. If so I see little advantage. But if ORBX handles the install, registration and updates through ORBX Central that would be a big plus. Also what are your opinions on how the latest updates of FS2020 and REX are working. Is REX worth it? Thanks in advance to any info.

I gave up on MSFS jetliners. It’s not that they’re bad, I just think they lack the seriousness of third party add ons. With that in mind, who’s coming up with first jetliner decent enough to fly? I refuse to do a two hour flight with the default MSFS planes. The nose of the plane is very unstable and autopilot is a pain. I read somewhere that it could take up to a year to develop third party planes the like of 737, 777 and 747? Anyone knows anything about where we stand?

Can someone tell me where the turn and slip indicator is on the MSFS CJ4? Looking for a ball to step on. thanks

Love the game. Initially the first upgrade no problems. Since then every upgrade the game starts normally and then within half a week or so after it looks for updates, it goes to the black screen to load, instead of one minute it will try loading for 25 minutes or so and then hang about 80% loaded. I tried the repair button, no effect. I notice my Community Folder is completely empty. I did not change the install location, I just accepted the default location each time. I have had to reinstall the game completely four times. Every time I reinstalled it the problem went away. But then with the every next upgrade the problem returns within a few days or so. Long time lurker, rare poster.... Anyway, is it just me or does the flight director not seem to work in the Working Title G1000/G3000? It works for vertical navigation, but not lateral navigation unless the a/p is engaged. If I have FD on, NAV on, and the CDI in the PFD set to GPS/FMS, the flight path shows in the CDI, but the flight director just remains level until I engage the a/p. Then, it turns towards the flight path. Am I missing something, or does it not function correctly? Thanks!

For those who don't check for updates every now and then, an update is now available.

Has any used the Navigraph map update program to update mfs 2020 to the current cycle of maps charts and approach plates so it matches Navigraphs current cycle of maps? If so have you encountered problems? Also if you update the Microsoft map database this way can you revert it back to Microsoft original map data? I just subscribed to navigraph and am learning as I go. Thanks for any help or info. Al Skorich

Using the latest FBW dev mod for the A320 Neo I found that the autopilot so far is working fine but just for a few minor glitches. Flying a SID works perfect and following the FLPLN is great, too, but problems do occur when executing an ILS APPR to an airport. As soon as the A/P notices that the next WPT is called USER or USR then a sharp turn to the right is executed, where it should take a left turn. Also if a turn to the right would be applicable the A/P takes a sharp turn to the left. The only way I found to circumnavigate this "glitch" is to do a DCT to the next waypoint in the APPR. Am I the only one running into this anomaly? Is there a better workaround for it the…

First of all I have to state that I solely fly FBW's A320NEO. As I was suffering of the reported A/P problems as well, I have been investigating this problem and came up with what for me, was the solution. After deleting the rolling cache and having FS2020 generate a new one, I made two short flights with the A320NEO (dev mode). No problems whatsoever were encountered. I of course don't know if this fix will also help for other aircraft or other users, but it worked perfectly for me. If you don't have a rolling cache, you may want to try to delete the manual cache and see if that helps. Try it, it might work for you, too. Hans van Wijhe

Did you notice that almost 50% of all roads now end at a river or canal? These are mostly smaller rivers or canals. From a closer look it turns out that the bridge is there, but a water texture is loaded as the texture. The traffic runs over it. I wonder, a. That no one has noticed this yet and b. That there is apparently no final inspection before it goes online? Note the areas outside of the USA are not affected. If the updates are to be bought soon. If this is no longer possible, it must then be delivered without errors.

So... is it just me, or does the anti ice not work at all? I'm doing a circumnavigation trip with the TBM and im now coming out of Greenland into Canada. (super awesome experience) But I've noticed that if I have the anti ice switches on or off hardly makes a difference at all? If I turn them on, my windshield nearly instantly heats and there's no more frost. But the fuselage? Doesn't matter. is this how the TBM is? Thank you.
