Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Pilots, besides some nice flights in the cfbw modded neo today I also have some issues today, now with MSFS refusing to start. It hangs at the „set your experience“ screen with a frozen circle next to checking for updates. I closed MSFS via task manager (which does not say „not responding“ btw) and moved all mods (actually the neo) out of the community folder. Internet connection is on at a rate of rather whopping 220. Am I alone? Is this a server issue at MS side? Did a search but found nothing here. Help appreciated, DAD

Ran my Site X52 for 5+ years on Windows 8.1 with no trouble. Installed Windows 10 some months ago (fresh install, new drive) and that was fine for some months. Then came MSFS Beta and it's insistence that I lower my expectations of what I expect my firewall (3rd party) to do. Next my computer slowed down (slower to reboot, start up etc). Then I started having trouble with my X52 losing its connection but managed to fix with re-installing the Site driver. Yesterday all fine, Sleep overnight, today nothing. Have jumped the hoops with reboots, re-installing Saitek driver (doesn't see it when I plug the USB cable in) and trying to update the driver etc. Nothing works. O…

Good evening, Is it possible to inhibit/silence the gear warning on the Longitude? Ab bit annoying when you use AT to slow down from 290 to 200 kts and the plane is yelling at you. Kind regards, Tom

Hello All I have the HOTAS Warthog throttles. I have assigned the throttle levers as my engine auto stop - so when I raise the levers back over the detent position ( ie fully aft) I want that to cut the engines. I think it is Position 29. I have also assigned the key "X" as autostop Although these bindings both show as saved they are not having any effect and engines in all planes continue to run Any idea what I have done wrong? Pilots, am I alone? just a minor glitch but both EDLP and EDDK airports from Aerosoft (bought through MS Store) do not show up with the "custom" icon on the word map. I have to admit that it somehow bothers me 🙂 . Deleted EDLP through content manager for a re-install and now it downloads 10.26GiB whereas the file size for v1.0.3 is supposed to be 3.13GiB. Have bought the new MFS2020, but after install I can see some name in Upper right corner "Flaxenterror728" I have not type in these name, how can I change it to a name I wont.?

Hi simmers 😀 These days i did my first repaint for FS 2020. Took a little while i found in again and there is still some fine tuning too do - but so far.. It is the 787-10 in Srilankan Airlines, but to say they do not Operate a 787 in there aircraft fleet they use mostly Airbusses. ( A330,A340,A320) I think i will do the A320 aswell at a later time, if all ready i will be upload the stuff to flightsim.to. cheers 😉

Greetings, If anyone has done this could you share the proper procedure that you followed and how it worked out for you. I just don't want to screw anything up that'll cause a problem re-installing and getting airborne again. I'll never be accused of being the sharpest knife in the drawer with this stuff. Mine has been crapped out for quite a few days now. Still not able to start. I do no think the situation is going to be resolved. Many thanks to all who took the time to send suggestions my way. Hi all, as my search did not result in any hit, I ask the question here: each and every default airport in MSFS has a huge flashing beacon somewhere installed, usually just floating some meters above ground. What is this? Can this be removed somehow? I wonder why most addon airports do not have this, is this something "normal" to US airports only? Thanks for any heads up...

Hey, in my simulator FS2020 the rudder moves from a small turn of the joystick directly to the extreme position, right or left. Because of this, Cessna or Airbus are very tricky to steer on the runway. That is, the rudder has only two positions: In the middle or completely on either side. This is happening with the new Airbus (Thrustmaster) controllers and also happened with the previous second brand controllers. In addition, this is done with the Enter command on the keyboard. FlyTampa's Las Vegas is spectacular, but depending on one's system and graphic settings, the FPS can be less than optimal. I was able to gain substantial performance while retaining both the city and airport by removing all the PBR Maps (reflections) and Normal Maps (bump mapping) as well as their associated .json files from the respective city and airport folders. Reflections and bump mapping are gone of course, but the scenery boots without errors, and all the buildings, night lighting, animated signs, and Bellagio fountains are essentially unaffected. FlyTampa has indicated a fix for FPS will forthcoming this week, but it's effectiveness has yet to be tested…

30 airplanes and still want to fly the Carenado Mooney. Weeks after an ASOBO broke the airplane, still no update. If you're like me, maybe you are outraged! 😀 In any other business customers would be clamoring for a fix or a refund. BTW, it's still being sold.

So, I’m 200+ hours in on MSFS. Got the Carenado 182T and was enjoying it, although missing my A2A 182S! Then decided to move the G36 closer to home from KPNS to KMEX... but, checklists? Who needs check lists? Well, I do! And I use one almost always. As an OnAir member, I wanted to do their Christmas Challenge and based on the way the event is designed, I figured MSFS would be the most enjoyable platform. I didnt own it at the time but did Alpha and Beta test it. Seeing a more finished platform there are a few things that really impressed me. 1st was for the challenge the user has to stay below 500'AGL and by flying over bodies of land and water, I loved how there is thermal turbulence over land and it gets smooth over water. I should read more carefully these updates 😁. But, honestly, I do take these things with a huge pinch of salt nowadays. Anyway, the last update says that, on January 14th, they will release a Feature Discovery EP#10 on "Aerodynamics". They already released one, in November 2019, which raised a lot of hope, not all fulfilled. Interesting that they wish to revisit the topic. Hopefully, they will have read this forum and listened to all the FDE wizards of the hobby. I also hope that it will include something about propulsion (for instance the turboprop modeling).
