Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I have watched many videos on Drone use. They say that the drone can be used on autopilot I use an X box controller and on the ground, all adjustments work perfectly. I take off, actgivate the drone, and none of the adjustments work when I I set the AP on. Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong. The drone follows the aircraft, but always in the same position that I had set up on the ground.

In the process of reinstalling MSFS 2020 and went to download the VL-3 aircraft from Content Manager and it will not download because of this missing file. I know nothing about and searching forums can't find out how or where to get it. Could some help?? Thank you.

Hello, colleagues! I hope to get any advice from you regarding the matter. The matter: I am using TrackIR. When I turn my head in the cockpit the movement is smooth enough but the picture during motion is distorted and jerky. I don't know how to explain clear enough, but literally during the motion the picture is getting a bit out of focus. Very similar to when in real life shooting videos with a camera with no shutter speed set. Even though the motion itself is smooth. Maybe you can tell me where should I dig for the solution how to achieve a better result? I believe there should be some parameters to tweak in nvidia control panel or somewhere else... Wh…

Is it only me or in some conditions, the 208 floats waay too much? I had passengers on FSE, 60% fuel on board, flying into 15kts wind, flaps 1 notch down, power off, the thing didn't want to descend, I could've soared for HOURS if I didn't put the nose down and full flaps, and even then, the ground effect was so strong at close to stall speed that I had to pitch down again, even if I already was in the red zone of the IAS. What is wrong with it? It's almost as it has no weight when descending, but climbing acts as normal, almost on the overweight feeling if anything.

I've been flying the very excellent modified CJ4 version 8 i think and was doing fine until the last update. Now about 20+ minutes into any flight, sim pauses briefly, sputters, and then the crash. Is there a modified cj4 that came in after the last mod that doesnt crash?

How is this done? Mine never resets to zero on the day of the month I have selected. I have changed it a couple of times hoping it will reset the counter to zero. Now it looks as if I am not permitted access to the high quality Bing scenery. Thanks for any suggestions. Dave

Up today I had no problems buying and downloading sceneries and airports within the MSFS Marketplace facility, but from yesterday I cannot anymore, and I am recibing a warning about something as "the billing zone doesnt match the store zone", really weird, as I didnt change anything related with that- I tried the Microsoft support but they derivated me to the Xbox support that doesnt work. Anybody had experience this issue ? Thanks

I am flying the WT CJ4 a lot at the moment & am finding I can't get a cockpit view where I can clearly see the runway on approach, & the dashboard Speed/Altitude Tape, at the same time. If I set up a view to see both concurrently by glancing from the runway down to the Tape, I find the Tape digits are too small for my eye sight. Is there any sort of 3rd party add on HUD or other method that just shows Speed & Altitude , in big digits, that you can toggle On & Off in a corner of the screen? I find the MSFS HUD has too much data & is distracting, plastered across the screen. I suppose alternatively I could set up a Cockpit Close Up…

Hi All, Just before the latest update, for some reason I had it in my mind to start with a clean slate. So I deleted all of MSFS 2020 and did a clean reinstall. Now every time I start msfs I get the settings/preferences screen and have to go thru them before the sim begins, and none of my original settings are there. Since the last couple of updates, I cannot get the flight plan page to open so that I can set up my departure and arrival runways. I can set up all the other pages in sequence but not the Flight plan page. I have the most current development installed as of today Does the FBW team have a forum somewhere to discuss issues or is this the only place? Gnacino

Hi, I know that that the flypad ground services screen is inactive, however I do not get baggage or some of the other ground services when requested via the MSFS ATC dialog box. I receive a message stating something like 'baggage can not be found'. I find this odd as the A320 aircraft model is a default model. Is anyone else unable to use the ground services? (only fuel truck will show but not connect).

Thanks in advance for any advice. I use a X Box controller for the drone camera. This works well, but hate that I have no control of the airplane while the drone camera is active. Is there some way to maintain control of the airplane while using the drone camera ? I suspect there is someway to do what I want, but no clue how to set this up. I use yoke and pedals along with Saitek panels.

I noticed some unusual looking trees...anybody seen this before?

First - there is a reason why trike gear was invented.. I am using the study level A2A Texan as a yardstick. A taildragger with large radial motor. I learned a lot from flying this. Some theory - The rotating airflow from propeller hits one side of the tail, creates a yaw. More significant is the gyroscopic effect from the heavy radial. It kicks in with rapid pitch change.. To mitigate this, you need a lot of clean straight airflow over rudder for rudder authority. Takeoff: Tail wheel lock. After the update with stock everything all my airport runway textures look and they all have grass on them and they do if you are up close. They are all washed out like there is other textures trying to bleed through or something. I have pictures but dont know ho to post them here. I noticed this when I was checking out the UK and did my firt flight from London City and grass on almost no runway textures there plus multiple elevation changes. AT EGLL runway looks like a roller coaster with small hills all over the runway but the airport itself looks fine but again no runway textures and grass. How do I remove the start-up sound?

I know this problem is being talked about in another thread but that relates more to the Microsoft Store Installations. I own the Steam Version and I have no problems with control settings. I do have an issue where I make changes to the Graphics settings during a session and Save the changes as well, but when I close down the sim and go back in the changes I thought I had saved have reverted back to the "before change" settings. I would expect the changes to be written to the "UserCfg.opt" file or wherever the settings are stored. Am I doing something fundamentally wrong here. Quick answer: Post update (1.13.16.0) MSFS now used a DXGI swap chain which allows for (actually designed for) a frame rate unthrottled by vsync but this has the side effect of allowing screen tearing to be observed. This was a design change by Asobo. (Edit: I presume!) Solution to the screen tearing: If you want to run MSFS in fullscreen mode then switch on vsync in either the in-game setting or nvidia control panel. If you don't want to use vsync then run in windowed mode (you can make the window almost as big as the desktop but just not the exact size of the desktop). Even though I have valid payment settings set up in my microsoft account, I get a 'Payment Failed' notification everytime I try and buy something within the simulator. So irritating.
