Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I loaded up MSFS and it greeted me to update, but my sim has already been updated. So after the update, I noticed it asks me to configure my settings all over again! offensive initials not allowed! Does anyone know what happened? Now I have to redo all my camera settings, keybindings, game settings, joystick settings, sigh. I'm seriously word not allowed!!!!

My variation of the Resort Supply mission in FSX. Not exactly like it but very close. I chose the Cessna 152, as I did not like the King Air 350 for this mission, and I am trying to make all my missions ( 2 so far ), with Standard Edition aircraft and default scenery. Still needs a lot of work, but had the basics of the original. Not all text to Speech refers to a Point Of Interest, just the way I chose to make mine. But there are F18's buzzing you when you enter the MOA ( Military Operations Area ), and as you are leaving it, right before Twisp. Have just installed the latest MSFS2020 update and also the latest Nvidia video driver, as of December 15 versions. And a recent Xbox update from the Microsoft store too. Now the Marketplace tab in MSFS is greyed out, so I cannot access it. Has anyone had similar difficulties, and/or suggest a fix? It seems also that I am not able to Automatically connect to the server, just getting a revolving circle that endlessly rotates. Are the Microsoft servers working alright for everyone? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I had high hopes that they would fix my biggest concern with this latest update but .. no, not even close. Scenery/terrain pop-in, aka= morphing mountains, aka= shifting hills, etc. Prior to the USA update, I flew for many hours every single day. Since the USA update, I have not flown once. The scenery loading directly in front of the plane absolutely kills the immersion for me. This did not exist prior to the USA update. I have been playing DCS ever since, just waiting, reading forums and hoping they fix whatever the heck happened to this once amazing sim. Just fired it up with everything updated and fingers crossed. Having trouble controlling mouse position when scanning instrument panel. View shifts around as I move mouse and sometimes I cannot even press a switch because mouse will not stay put. Sometimes view will rotate. I believe I remember a post solving this problem, but searching I cannot find anything. I think it has something to do with "Camera Controls" in the keyboard settings. Can anyone suggest where to look or what to do ? Dave Hinson

Hi, I Have strange problem on just the Prop planes(Not Turbo Props or Jets). As soon as I launch a plane, the ignition stays on a endless loop flickering between "Both" and "Start". And no matter what I do, I cannot stop it from this loop. I cannot change it to "L" or "R" or command it to any specific position. It just fans back and forth between "Both" and "Start". Fortunately, other than the annoying constant clicking, it doesn't really affect the flying, so I've tried to live with it. When I use my Honeycomb Yoke switches, it doesn't change anything(and there's no conflict on the Honeycomb assignments.) The only thing that I can do with the Honeycomb that I cannot with…

I’m new! I’ve been flying the CJ4 WT a lot and wanted to try my hand at an airliner. After hours of tutorials I’ve made a few short hops (KPIT>KBWI). First - does this plane do a VNAV type descent where it will drop to the next altitude on the flight plan? I’m in managed altitude but it keeps going to what altitude is manually set to. Second - can I change the speed / altitude on the flight plan? I can do it on the Pro Line of the CJ4 but cannot for the life of me figure how to do this on the A320. any help is greatly appreciated!

Everything was fine this morning; tonight I launched FS2020 as usual and it shows me the initial setup screen. All preferences and settings (including joysticks) are gone Any hint? Andrea

This popped up on the official forum two days ago and I had a lot of fun with it over the weekend. It's a modified version of the Savage Cub that shaves weight with a carbon frame and replaces the Rotax 912S with a 915is, netting an extra 41HP. It also improves the brakes and moves the undercarriage forward to allow sharper stops with less of a tendency to nose over. It's not a "real" model, but it's a perfectly credible one that's not dissimilar to various custom STOL planes that already exist. As of yesterday, Feb 22, FS2020 desperately is searching a server to connect to. Normally my FS2020 is hooking up to the Western-European server, but that one seems to have crashed. Or am I the only one "suffering" from this issue? Thanks, Hans

Last World Update release notes : Several terrain spikes have been fixed, including incorrect cases of water elevation issues. Yeah, right ! Several 🤣. Like in 2 or 3 ? The world is still covered with artifacts, spikes and the like. we find them everywhere. My last "finds" in the upper Amazon , PNG and Borneo... Why is so that a Mom & Pop businesses like Pilot's or Toposim have been able to cover the world with good and clean meshes and that you, Microsoft, can't ? Instead of cranking out new regions, can't you do the job and erase these warts first ? And if you can't do the job, isn't it the time to open the sim (SDK) to mesh addons ?

Hello, So today i did a first attempt to fly the FBW A320 which is obviously a great mod! But i get a quite annoying stutter every few seconds which is a gamebreaker for me. I am running @30Hz and about every 5 seconds FPS drop to 25-26 like there is something loaded in the background or so... Is it just me or is anyone else having this issue? Hi: There's nothing to click on, no icon on the desktop. The program is not listed as an app. The 10 disks were simply sucked into Windows 10 and disappeared. Where did it go? How do I play it? Maybe one for the hardware forum, but I thought I'd try the main one first as it's only happening in MSFS. Probably been there from the start but only noticed it when i glanced at the throttle on screen recently. My TCA Airbus throttle behaves fine except for one instance - when the two throttle levers are sitting at idle, in the cockpit, the left lever is somewhere between 0% and perhaps 7% (that it itself I need to work out a fix for), whilst the right lever will always be around 7-12% higher. At any other setting on the physical throttle, the sim throttles will be matched, i.e. both at 10%, 20% etc. Even in reverse thrust, they match, so it's only at idle there is…

and if so, have they committed to fixing it? I DID research the internet, the latest progress reports and schedules for Microsoft, Youtube etc.. and I'm not clear. it MAY be out there but I did search before asking. thoughts?

I just saw that there was a Gaming Services update available on my machine. Downloaded it, started MSFS again and I was back in business. All my controls are back!! I'm a happy camper again !

My default keyboard bindings all make reference to joystick buttons in my default keyboard settings. I’ve tried to rest the profile_00 file without success and tried to reset the default commands without luck. Would someone be so kind as to point me in the direction of the default keyboard settings file or worst case provide myself with the their copy of the default keyboard file ? any help or a copy of anyones input profile with defult keyboard settings would be most appreciated and will be loved forever kind regards david david

I have Steam version of MSFS. I downloaded Tokyo enhanced Landmarks pack yesterday from the market Place. It didn't put it in the Community folder but into the 'Official' folder where all the Asobo stuff is. I also noticed that my Carenado WACO aircraft, also purchased in Market Place some weeks ago has also been installed into the Official folder. I thought Market place purchases were meant to go direct into the Community folder?

Hello In MSFS 2020 before and after the last update, Buildings in cities e.g. London or NYC are showing like huge Rocks, Pyramids and Needles. I am using Nvidea GTX 2070 Super with 8Gb. Scenery in general is acceptable except buildings. Interesting Airports buildings are fine. Any insights in what is the cause of this deformities. Bill Hagag

I have decent (OK) internet at 5mbs due to my circumstances so I'm looking at a very long haul to get 150gb. I can do about 10gb a day tops. I wonder if the install will be a putoff for some who don't have even decent web? cheers bs
