Gates Learjet 35A

  1. With version 2.6, I'm having a problem with how fuel is sent from the tip tanks to the wing tanks. I believe that in the real aircraft, fuel flows first from the tip tanks to the wing tanks and, when that is exhausted, fuel can be transferred to the wing tanks from the fuselage. This is the way it seemed to work before version 2.6. Now, I'm not seeing any fuel flow from the tip tanks to the wing tanks. According to the 2.6 update at the flysmware website: 1. "'tip tanks are now externanl (sic) in the cfg. file so fuel never burns from the tip tanks" 2. " Fuel valve now transfers tip tanks to wing tanks when tip tanks are 50%". First questio…

Has someone managed to integrate the AS16 Radar into the VC Panel? I have read the instructions, provided by flysimware, but they only refer to a RolASNRadar. Is this the AS16 Radar? I tried this but it did not work. By the way: I bought the Lear yesterday at SimShack, net and they only offered me Version 2.4 for the download (not 2.5 and not 2.6). Had better asked before.... ---------- Alexander

Can anyone suggest a reason for the tip tanks not feeding to the wing tanks? Started a flight with fuel in wing tanks and tip tanks, nothing in center. Fuel warning came on and wing tanks got down to under 200#. Had jet pumps on, I was not using stand by pumps. I did turn those on as well after the fuel warning light came on, but that did not change anything. Thanks for any help.

  5. When I launch FSX SE for the first time and select the Lear 35a, select a flight plan, and weather, during the loading of the scenery, I get fairly loud beeping during the loading of the Terrain, etc. Once the A/C is loaded it goes away. This only happens during the initial FSX SE launch. I tried loading another plane first and then the Lear 35a but the same issue occurs. Any ideas?

  6. I started to wonder why I'd lost the animated nosewheel steering on my other aircraft eg Carenado. Then I went back to the Lear and engaged nose wheel steering. Now the Carenado etc aircraft are fine

  7. Hi, I have version 2.3 and noticed that, while, on autopilot and at level cruise at FL430, the aircraft begins a phugoid oscilation about 1000 feet up and down on the VSI. This happens after after flying for about an hour or so and when the tip tanks are just about empty. The only passengers are the pilot and copilot and their luggage. Has anyone noticed anything similar?

  8. Started by ark,

In both the sim and real world the Lear35A thrust reverser ARM lights don't come on until the a/c is on the runway with weight on the wheels. This seems strange to me because you would think the pilots would like to know the thrust reversers are successfully armed before actually trying to stop on the runway. Why not have the ARM lights come on when the ARMing switches are activated on final approach (indicating a functioning thrust reverser system), and simply require weight on the wheels before the thrust reversers can actually deploy? There must be a good reason for the system working as it does, but I can't think what it might be. Ideas? Thx, Al

When you update to a new version of the Lear35A, like the recent ver2.6, do you have to separately run the Payload Manager install program (which comes in a folder with the update download), or does the Payload Manager get updated as part of the overall a/c update install process? Thx, Al

Would it be possible to make SDK information for the Lear35 available as other developers have done for their products? This would make it much easier for users to tailor their hardware environment to the operation of the aircraft and increase the immersion experience. Understandably, the Lear35 is currently very mouse intensive and SDK information would facilitate the use of switch panels, the keyboard (which for some users may be easier or more convenient to use than the mouse for some operations), etc. The availability of an SDK would also encourage sales in my opinion. Great a/c! Thx, Al

Love flying the Lear, but I'm a little confused about how one would monitor the amount of fuel one has onboard from the VC as in the real plane without having to call up the payload manager, which in my case doesn't work. Okay, my apologies I found the switch and the fuel gauge on the center console which shows the amount of fuel remaining in each tank. Now to see if you can transfer fuel between tanks? Cheers Martin

I use fsx gold edition.. First problem is the load manager does not work. Read the manual and dont see anything in it about trouble shooting this issue. Second I pull up the kneeboard and in the manual it says under references there should be some information about vspeeds. However there is nothing at all in my kneeboard about this aircraft at all. Any help?

  16. Hi, just wanted to ask you other guys out there having GTN brightness problems in the VC during dusk/dawn. For me, it appears that the latest 2.5 version of the Lear 35A gives me a nicely backlit GTN in all conditions. What's your experience?

Just upgraded to v2.5 and I noticed that the HSI on the FO side does not track the GTN750 like on the other side, does that have to be engaged somehow, I would think both pilots should be looking at the same thing? Cheers Martin

  18. I just did my first flight in the Lear on a 1.5 hour flight and it rocks. However, once I got above 30,000' it started with a huge yaw back and forth even though the yaw damper was on. It would do that to the full ball deflection right and left. Then once it got violent enough the bank would also start going up to about 30 degrees each direction. With both going it would almost stall. I had cruise set at FL370 and once I got back down to about FL300 it stopped and was rock solid again. It did this over and over until I descended to FL300. I tried it without the autopilot and it was even worse. I also tried the secondary yaw damper system but it didn't help eithe…

Flew a short hop in the Lear35 from KLXV in Leadville, CO to KASE, Aspen, CO using the GTN750. Approach at Aspen was the VOR/DME-C with the DBL (Red Table VOR) transition. This requires entering a holding pattern at DBL to reverse course for the approach. The holding pattern entry is a Teardrop, and at DBL the Lear35 (still in NAV GPS mode) turned and initiated the Teardrop entry correctly, but then failed to turn back towards the DBL holding fix as the GTN750's magenta course line was "directing". When I flew the exact same flight plan with the GTN750 in the default Lear45, and in the Milviz C310, both a/c correctly turned back towards the DBL holding fix. Although…

Hello flightsimmers, Ive been flying this bird for many many hours since its first release. I heard about the "dont sink" message was going to be resived, but i dont feel like its being worked so far....and i dont see any comments around. No matter what i try, best perfect landing with the Lear, 700-800 fpm, speed around 135, i still get the Dont sink message. Sometimes i feel like increasing speed stops the aural warning, but sometimes i feel is not really speed. So i have a few questions: 1- What triggers that "dont sink" aural warning? 2- Is there some way to stopt it? May be i the real aircraft we have some way and it is simulated prob…

  25. Hello, I wonder how can i update the tachometer number to my real recorded flight hours with the aircraft. I ask because, ive flown about 354 hours so far, but since last instalation it reads like only 100 hours. I know, i know, its one of those "nice to have", but what the heck, its all about simulation, right? Itll be excellent if i could update to my real recorded flight log to compare and other math things.. Thanks...
