Hi, I'm very happy with the Learjet but I have a question about the autopilot. How can I set a preset the VSI or set an rate of climb ie. 4,000 fpm? There is no manual for the autopilot and the autopilot does not have trim wheel. Thank in advance.

Hey Everyone, Finally downloaded this beauty. With regard to taxiing, how much power is needed to keep her rolling? I have to put in a hefty amount of thrust to get it moving and need about 64.x N1 to keep it rolling. Is this normal or do I have issues with FSX's dynamic friction? I worked on 35's years ago as a lineman. I don't recall a lot of thrust being used to keep the LJ's going. Thanks for the input. Dave

Made many hops across Florida last night. Very enjoyable. The problems I ran into were pilot related and this last one might also be procedure? I make (what I think is) a smooth landing, reversers and differential brakes applied. Airspeed drops and I turn on steering. The 'steering' panel light illuminates. Now, there is a 50/50 chance that I actually can steer at all. If I do a maintenance fix on the runway, steering works again. Am I doing something procedurally wrong? Spoilers; do you assign a hotkey with FSUIPC? Steering always works before a flight, but only sometimes after landing. Thanks!

Just a heads up. The only change listed in the description is regarding the GPWS warning system.

I use the GTN750 in the Lear in P3DV3 - I notice that when I ARM the NAV function after t/o, I need to be fairly close to the course line or it won't capture. If my takeoff heading is 180 from the course, I must manually make the turn after takeoff or it will not arm. Is this by design? Vic

Just wondering if engine failures are modeled in the Lear 35? I ask because on a flight in Alaska this morning, I had a left engine failure with an attendant "ENG ICE" Warning light. I had lots of go-juice in both wings and I couldn't find any other reason for a failure. I did not have the Nacelle Heat on at the time and had just passed through a fairly deep cloud deck (temps were a bit below freezing at the time). That's great if this is modeled, as long as I know about it and can take precautions in the future. By the by, the flight finished successfully. I did a single engine approach into Homer with a pretty routine landing. The airplane handles very believably wi…

It would be helpful if you could get Pc Aviator to update their download link . Currently they are still showing 1.7 and version 1.9 was released several days ago. A better way of dealing with these frequent updates is needed. You go through the pain of making the learjet continually better and risk customers downloading a version which may fail in some way even though you have already corrected the problem in a later version. thanks MJP

I have installed the V1.7 version and the newly load manager. So far everything is O.K except the load manager which does not work. I cannot load PAX, Fuel, and I am wondering if it is supposed to be fully functional in V1.7. Would be great if someone could shed some light on this. Jean-Pierre

This is the first time I used the landing/taxi lights o the Lear. I landed just before dusk and there was an extremely bright halo around the entire a/c in spot view as if a helo was overhead with their bright spot. Anyone else seeing anything like this? Using P3D3 - I have HDR enabled. Vic

I have a Logitech 3d Pro joystick and a Logitech gaming pad to control all my buttons. Just installed the 35A and everything works off one of these two devises except for the AP. When I press the Auto Pilot joystick button, I only get a brief flash from the AP Control Panel with no actual operation. I can engage the AP with the mouse without a lot of problem, but when you're approaching 200' and a 1/2 mile minimum; getting ready to go around it's a real inconvenience. Never had this problem before. I checked the key list and it uses the plain old Z for AP on and off. Any advice would be appreciated, Mike

Just purchased the Flysimware Learjet 35A, Version 1.8, from FSPilotShop (exactly one day before their sale!!!), and am initially impressed with the quality of the graphics, cockpit sounds, clicks, bells and whistles. However, I am unable to start the blasted thing! Following the checklist for a cold and dark start is a no-op - while everything clicks on, the start sequence is non-operational. Even doing a CTRL+E start fails - the turbine spools up to 18.1 on the left engine only, and then shuts off to slowly return to zero. It does not even try to start the right engine. I am running P3D V3, which is a supported platform. Any ideas? I checked the Flysimw…

Hi Guys, I cant get the PM to work, when I loaded the aircraft after modifying the DLL.XML file, it did not ask to run the DLL to my knowlege, I followed the instructions, added the XMLTools.dll section in the DLL.XLM file, and copied the XMLTools.dll file to the P3DV3 Main folder My last few entries in XML.DLL: <Launch.Addon> <Name>FSUIPC 4</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Path>Modules\FSUIPC4.dll</Path> </Launch.Addon> <Launch.Addon> <Name>XMLTools</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad> <Path>XMLTools.dl…

Hi all, I don't know how the autopilot works in the real deal. But I suspect when crusiing at a level altitude and wanting to climb or descend to a new altitude, pushing "Alt Sel" would dis-engage the elevator servo so the pilot can set the desired VS or IAS and then push the respective mode button to maintain it. With this simulation, I have to select "Alt Sel" twice to free up the elevator. Is this correct? I hope I explained this so it's half way lucid. Does anyone know how the real airplane works? Thanks, Bill

Man, this airplane is really coming together beautifully!! Just did a fantastic trip from Redding, CA to Calgary/Springbank and what a super flight. Man I like this airplane. BUT (there always has to be a "but", right ?), I've asked about this before but not had any response from FSW. I'll try again. PULLEEEEESE can you take out the dimming of the GTN when it gets dark!!! PLEASE (note hint of desperation here ). Have a gander below at my panel as I prep the aircraft for a dawn flight: Like, how do you read that (and if you tell me you can, would you be willing to donate your eyes to me? Yeah, didn't think so  ). I theory it's a really cool idea, and …

This is strange. Just installed 1.7 and had an awesome flight. I left the pedestal/yoke showing and noticed smooth aileron movements, but the travel speed increased dramatically at about 50% deflection. I wondered if this may be causing exaggerated roll on landing? Set up a good approach and greased the landing. I was sure not to overuse the ailerons and all I can say is it handled smooth as silk. What a great plane to fly. After taxing back to parking, I noticed that pulling straight back on the yoke caused it to spin left and right as I pulled straight back and forth?? Like the aileron and elevator axis was bound together. This did not happen on TO. Very…

Yaw stability I feel that the yaw stability is quite "screwy" (unstable) especially in slow flight. Slow to 130 - 140 kts in clean or landing configuration. Now try some shallow to medium bank turns and observe the "ball" (slip skid indicator). The plane behaves like this: it starts with a significant skid in the direction of the turn (adverse yaw) and then yaws into the turn way past center to a big slip, all with little to no rudder input, YD on or off and no wind. One may argue that this is exactly what I deserve for not using the rudder. I admit that using the rudder does help dampen this instability. As I start banking I need to "kick" the tail into the tur…

Hey, bought the Lear a few days ago and finally had a chance to play with it... Is there any tool for fuel calcultions? There is no Learjet 35 profile available for PFPX, but default or either a custom one... How many thrust to use for takeoff, climb and cruise? I couldn't find any info about power settings? When I hit full throttle on takeoff it accelerate like a Tomahawk missile.. I dont really get the AP logic... AFAIK, this is a "stuipid" AP. To set VS I have to bring the plane the VS I want the AP to maintain and then engage VS mode. Same goes for IAS mode. Am I correct? I downloaded the Learjet 35A Flight Manual by Bombardier (The one on FSW LJ35A p…

I have to confess that I've become spoiled with most of the airplanes that I've flown in FS. I've become too used to digital readouts of, among other things, the radar altitude and mach speed. Flysimware has done a simply amazing job with the Lear; it's amazing. But I still have a way to go in getting re acclimated to the old school, analogue instrumentation, and the Lear's airspeed indicator is unlike that of any aircraft that I've flown. I still haven't quite figured out the correct way to read the mach indicator. Is the actual mach indication at the very top of the curved drum, at the "mach" designator, or is it at the red notch between the 330 a…

I have noticed on the latest release that the engine sound does not change at all as you advance the throttles from idle to about 66.5% N1? Above 66.5% N1 everything appears normal. Also, there doesn't appear to be any thrust reverser sound? Anyone else have these issues? Thanks, John

Flysimware: Just a thought - put the landing lights you have on the new Lear now on the MU2, and you'll sell a whack more MU2's ^_^ Just sayin' -_- (PS - cargo interior would really help too!)
