Back around 1998 a company called AVCON ( https://www.avconindustries.com/performance/ ) came out with a mod for the Lear35A that included extended range tip tanks as described in this article from the May 1998 Flying Magazine. So having some time on my hands I decided to try and add the extended range tip tanks to the FSW Lear35A. This involved minor mods to the aircraft.cfg and Learjet_35A.cab files, and a modified Payload Manager. The modified Payload Manager looks like this: You will note that just below the Light, Medium and Heavy fuel selection tabs there is a new entry called Extended Range Tip Tanks. In the first pictu…

Hey everyone, As most of you know, I fly the LR35 in real life. It's a rough job, but somebody has to do it. This puts me in a great position to record real sounds off the airplane in a controlled environment. I recorded over 100 custom sounds, carefully selected the best ones, and began editing them. I worked on the sound files and provided a bit of quality control to ensure it conforms to the real airplane (as I do with every aspect of FSW projects). Al wrote all of the code for the new sounds, and I gotta say, he did a hell of a job. Just a quick list of *some* of the new sounds. ALL sounds were recorded directly out of the airplane I fly at work. …

The LR35 information below has been provided by FSW forum contributors and is collected here for convenience. As new information becomes available it will be added to this first post in the thread. Note the latest FSW LR35A user manual is always available from the LR35A product page on the FSW website https://flysimware.com/website/LEARJET_35A.html . t has come to my attention that some users (especially those using Win11 which I'm told does not have a Start Menu) are having difficulty finding the FSW GPS Management tool. With a typical install, the GPS Management Tool for the Lear35A can be found here: For the Lear35A: C:\FLYSIMWARE\FLYSIMWARE LEAR35A INFO\Flysimware LEAR35 Management Tool.exe On a Win10 system, there should be a Flysimware's Learjet 35A entry in the Start menu under which you will find a link to the GPS Management tool. Note to install a third party GPS (such as the RealityXP GTN750) into the Lear35A with the GPS Management tool, you must own ( have purchased ) the GPS unit. Al

  6. Hey all, been gone a while due to real world priorities. I realize I stated the MU-2 would be next, but that will be done by 3DReach. So instead, i've started work on the Lear-35. First things first, I spent the last two days baking ambient occlusion and now started on lightmapping. These first previews are without actual textures, but they speak volumes in terms of spacial orientation and realism. I started working in Quixel completely for model texturing, and blender for baking everything out. I may decide to revisit the Falcon 50 with some of these new techniques, at least for the interior walls, at some point. PBR will unfortunately not be implemented, …

  7. If you feel that the altitude hold sometimes disables on long flights without disabling it then this fix is for you. It will ensure if ENG and ALTHLD modes are on the altitude hold will stay on. https://flysimware.com/website/help/Lear35A_Patch_AP_FIX.zip

  8. This is designed to be a narrative type explanation of how we fly the LR35 from an everyday operations standpoint. I’d consider it more valuable for reference and familiarization than I would for instruction. And as always, everything I write here is for reference use only, and is limited to the context of desktop flight simulation. It is not to be used in any real world application for training, familiarization, technique, or aircraft operation. I’ll spare each of you the detailed description of how we get the catering, coffee, ice, etc. J So let’s start with arriving at the airplane. I’m usually the first one to arrive at the aircraft. Once I get the door…

  11. Flysimware has just made a new Lear35A light package update for P3D v4 and P3Dv5 available. You can download the update from the Flysimware Lear product page here https://flysimware.com/website2019/flysimwares-learjet-35a/ , To update: 1. Download the zip file Lear35A_New _Dynamic_Lighting.zip from the product page 2. Unzip the file to find two folders, V4 and V5. 3. Copy and paste the files found inside V4 into the P3Dv4 Effects folder. Likewise, copy and paste the files found inside V5 into into the P3Dv5 Effects folder. You will be overwriting the existing files. The new files are different for each sim, so be careful to get the correct files into…

  12. When you save the flight it saves the parked modes so you can load the flight on another day and have the plane as you left it in a cold state. i have added 1 more option to the list because of a bug we found. If you save a flight the cabin pressurization value is saved since this is a default code. But the knob is custom and will get out of sink causing too much pressure the next time you adjust it. So use this patch to keep both in sink. Enjoy! Lear35A_Saved_Flight_List

  13. I noticed the beacon lights bleed through the bottom of the cabin. I can see solid red and flashing under the rear bench seats. It looks like there's red floor lights installed in the cabin :). I also notice the flashing down by the rudder pedals but it's fairly dim and not bothersome. The only workaround I could find was to remove some of the beacon.fx files from the main effects folder which obviously diminishes the exterior beacon effects. Maybe this is a LM issue? I'm running 4.5 with latest version of the Lear.

  14. Hi All, I just downloaded the Lear into P3D 4.5. I noticed that when I turn on the batteries there's a black smoke effect coming out of both engines when the engines are off. When I turn on the exterior lights the smoke gets darker. When I turn off of the batteries the effect goes away. Any thoughts? I'm running the latest version from FSW. Thanks, Jonathan

  15. Hi, I have a problem programing a second flight plan into the FMS. 1. I program de 1st flight of the day as usual, everything good. 2. After landing i try to program de 2nd flight ( the return flight ) (ROUTE: SPJR-MANPA-BOBUG-ATATU-ATATU3-SPJC), I can enter everything but in the HSI display not rute displayed, it is displayed just since ATATU TO SPJC), not route showing from SPJR to ATATU. In the FMS is colored with PINK the waypoint ATATU (MANPA AND BOBUG are green colored, as if my first waypoint was ATATU). I am using last fms and aircraft versions for fsx. Regards. Erick.

  19. Hi Everyone. First of all, thank you for this amazing bird. Hello, I recently switched from p3D to MFS for the New Lear 35. I have decided to go back to P3D. A few questions: Is there any way I can adjust the aircraft climb performance? I find the initial climb after takeoff is a bit excessive. Is it possible to have a panel with a stand alone altitude alerter rather than it being combined into the altimeter? For some reason the Multi Crew Experience copilot wont set the altitude when I call for it. I think a previous version of the lear used to have this? I currently have V4.4 however I noticed that I never get an altitude alert. The altimeter annunciator light does not illuminate and I don’t get a a…

I know many of you have been looking for more detailed information on the Lear 35. The link below should allow you to download a copy of the original flight manual for the Lear 35. Note the only difference is that this manual is for an aircraft equipped with the older FC-200 Autopilot. We chose to go with the newer FC-530. Other than that, all the info is the same. Hope this helps out those looking for more detailed information. https://www.dropbox.com/s/rv4087ax13bidwf/Lear%2035%20AFM.pdf?dl=0

I was using P3Dv5.3 HF2 when I bought and installed the Flysimware Learjet 35A. I have what I believe to be the latest version of the 35a (4.3c) and I am using it with the latest version of the Reality XP 750. There may have been problems with these things that I may have missed but when I upgraded to v5.4 I noted the following: (1) On startup, the mach trim warning light is on and I do not know how to turn it off. (2) The DME guages no longer seem to work for either Nav 1 or Nav 2 Is anyone else experiencing these things? Do you know of fixes? Thanks, Stephen

  25. Bought Learjet FMS expansion pack recently. I use Pilot2ATC function "Copilot sets transponder" but it seems not to work. A small Test-LUA shows me that P3D Dword offset 0x0354 is overwritten by the new expan pack "digital transponder" as the focus gets on the outer transponder knob. I searched for a LVAR containing the squawk code of the "digital transponder" but no luck. So how can I modify the squawk code of the "digital transponder" e.g. by a LUA script ? Or is it possible to get some kind of fix that the transponder reads offset 0x0354 before writing to it to allow other utilities to set this "digital transponder" ?
