I ran into a strange issue I've never encountered before and am wondering if I accidentally triggered something I didnt intend to. I was early in my STAR to KORD ILS28R when ATC all of a sudden vectored me in to the runway. I was pretty far out still, had a number of waypoints to go. No reason to be vectored from where I was. I DID accidentally hit the approach button on the map to bring up the yellow lines, hence my "did I do something on accident" question. As soon as I got vectored, my flight went to hell. My descent was totally shot from that point because ATC wanted me back at my original FL. I was coming in way way way too high. Also had the heading/wind…

This is something of an academic question as I have no technical issues with FUSIPC and do have a paid license for it. However is there a specific reason why Pilot2ATC works through FUSIPC instead of directly with SimConnect?

  3. Does Pilot2ATC accommodate VFR flying with or without filing some form of flight plans? Does it accommodate VFR flying in any form? I am hoping for something that allows vfr atc from the free flight setup page, like I can with the default ATC. I sometimes like to just jump in a GA airplane and go sightseeing without a flight plan, but like the idea of asking for flight following and having to request landing etc. I would like to do this by voice communication rather than mouse clicks or typing. Thanks.

  4. Hi Dave, I know this new behavior was specifically requested by other users, but I found it to be a pain in the neck - that the 'center map on aircraft' button is now 3-state - center/hide/move freely. I usually turn on centered when enroute, but every time I like to zoom into a specific part of the map and then get back, I now have to press that button twice, whereas before it was a nice and simple toggle. I'm not saying to revert it (to be honest I personally find it pretty useless but I get that it may be useful for others), but maybe an additional setting that enables/disables this 3-state behavior? I know, sounds like configuration feature creep, and I'd un…

I've followed the instructions to set acrobat as default but I just get a grey window with no chart. P2A is trying to use acrobat but I see nothing. Is there perhaps a new issue with the latest reader? If I uninstall reader it goes back to just asking me to download the pdf so it's clearly acrobat doing something.

What is the best way to do flight planning? I created the route in FS2020. Low altitude IFR. I select the Flight Plan from SimBrief and get it loaded into P2ATC. I add a SID and STAR to the flight plan. But now the problem is how to get the GPS updated in FS2020 with the P2ATC flight plan? In the sample video, using Sim Brief, the person removed the SID and STAR and loaded the route, then added the SID and STAR via P2ATC. With this scenario, how do you track your route as the FS2020 flight plan and P2ATC flight plan are not the same. I am also thinking about purchasing the latest NavGraph data. You would download for FS2020 and P2ATC? …

This has happened to me during various flights in Australia (and not anywhere else): Requesting a step climb, say from an inital cruise altitude of FL360 to FL380, it is denied by ATC saying that it is below minimal altitude. Instead, i'm instructed to climb to FL600 (!!!). The only way to stop hearing this demand for hours is to quit P2ATC, restart it and file a new flight plan with the requested FL. Normally, I just enter the new FL in the Cruise Alt field, re-file and request a climb to. P3DV4.5 , current Navigraph data

  8. On most flights, I only need about 4 different maps at differing zoom levels… On Taxi Out and Taxi In, I need large zoom in showing the airport and runway/gate maps. On takeoff, I need varying zoom out for certain distance away from departure (SID). Diminishing until Top of Climb. On Cruise portion, I use maps at high zoom out just to follow progress across most of the flight plan. On Descent/Approach, I need to regain zoom in to view approach to STARS, with attention to ILS active runway. Is this how most pilots use the maps and zoom? Pardon me if I get confused what zoom level is high/low or whatnot, but I think you know what I mean as describ…

Is it possible to save default “Start-Up” settings for map? I do change the settings during a flight, but I would like to reset them at the start of a new flight (connect). If not, could this become a wish list item?

  10. Long time user of this software, love it. However, I still struggle when it comes to changing runways. A lot of times I'll start a flight in the evening and when I get to flight level and everything is smooth, I'll let the autopilot fly the enroute and I'll have the sim pause about 30 or so miles from the TOD. This works perfectly. The issue is when I wake up in the morning the flows changed to the opposite runway. I try to look at the forecasts and file my flighplan to use the forecast winds, but sometimes the forecast is wrong and I end up programmed to use the wrong runway. I would think that I could select "ArrivalRunwayRequest", scroll through the predefined st…

Hi Dave, Just wondering if you could shed some light on something. The other day, heading out of Lisbon (LPPT) the winds were 290/5 when I got my clearance with AI were landing on 21. Then the winds moved to 310, meaning that the AI started using Runway 03. When requesting taxi, P2ATC said 'Taxi to runway 21 via......' but actually gave me taxi instructions to Runway 03. What happens when the winds change and the other runway becomes active? I continued taxi to 21 and had to turn off traffic to avoid collisions. Is there a way to re-dispatch said clearance in that situation? I do have the 'Match Sim Runway' checked. Not sure if that makes a difference. Log…

I was on a flight from KOZW to KORD. I asked to land at runway 10L: Everything went fine all the way to clearing the runway and I announced I was clear of the active. The tower welcomed me to Ohare and handed me off to ground 118.05 I then asked Ground for directions to GA parking: Ohare Ground November Seven Whiskey Alpha Request Taxi to General Aviation Parking At this point, I got the white text telling me the route to GA parking but NO SOUND. This happens quite a lot and I end up having to disconnect P2A and restarting it which recovers the sound. Log has been included. Thanks -mark Log can be downloaded here (p2aNoSou…

Hi All, I just pulled the trigger and purchased Pilot2ATC as it seemed like it might be a nice change and bring more flexibility than Pro ATC X. After a day of messing around with Windows and microphones I finally get that sorted. I've also used the Taxi manager to import the gates and taxiways for my first planned flight from EHAM (FlyTampa) to KORD (FSDT). Both processes seemed to go well and showed up on the map with correctly alligned runways, taxiways and gates. However, despite clearing me for a departure off Runway 18L - and assigning me a STAR for 18L the taxiway instructions took me to 18R. See image below... Any ideas why…

  19. After I load a flight plan (usually imported from Simbrief), then I am on my way doing the flight. However, at each waypoint shown in The grid, the TRK heading takes me a few (5-8) degrees higher than the visible flight plan line on the map. Is this caused because I don’t have a correction map setting, or something like that. I have simply set my actual heading lower than the TRK setting, but I think there should be an explanation why the TRK value is not spot on. Is it not taking into account magnetic deviation, weather, or what?

Hi All, I'm trying adjust to the switch from ProATC X to Pilot2ATC.... Its a bit of a step accross, but one of the issues I'm seeing every flight (or every time I load Pilot2ATC) is CPU usage >20% (sometimes ranging up to 50%) and RAM usage over 2GB. The software is VERY slow to respond in all scenarios (not just FP loading or filing). I'm using an older Intel 4500U Laptop and it only has 4GB of RAM. Is that likely to be the issue? No issues buying another 4GB of RAM if that was the problem... Cheers,

Greetings! Recently, I downloaded P2ATC and have been going through the trial period. However, on two occasions while in use, the program has slowed a crawl to the point it's unusable. It no longer detects my PTT, and the window begins redrawing extremely slow. I've also noticed other things on my system lag but only when P2ATC and FSUIPC7 are open. If I close both them, it immediately stops lagging. I have tested this on multiple occasions now and repeatedly it begins working like normal once I close these two programs. Here is a screenshot of P2ATC while the issue is occurring: https://i.imgur.com/UlqglJr.jpg Here is a snip of my task manager while the issue …

Forgive me if this is a newbie question, but I'm trying to get X-Plane setup and working well with P2A (already got everything going with MSFS 2020). My main annoyance at the moment is I can't get ATIS to go over the same headset that P2A is assigned to - I don't see an option in X-Plane to route radio traffic to a different sound interface, and even when I check the option to have P2A handle ATIS, it still comes out of the main system speakers (along with engine noise). Am I missing something on either the X-Plane or P2A configuration fronts, or am I asking the impossible here?

  24. Hi Dave, it seems to me that P2A is not enforcing airway altitude restrictions at all. For example on my last flight I had a flight plan with cruise altitude FL420, but the first 100 nm or so were on an airway with an altitude restriction of FL305. This was a flight plan exported by SimBrief, in SimBrief itself the cruise altitude in the dispatch output showed as 'FL290' (in the briefing details it was FL STEPS LOWI/0290/VAMTU/0410/DIVKO/0310) and P2A imported it as FL420. When I filed the flight plan it was valid (green), andP2A correctly showed the restrictions in the Alt Restr column: After getting the clearance for FL240 I would have expec…

Hi Folks, The weather was kind of rough last weekend where I was trialing P2A - I tried for the life of me - to get a deviation to get around some cells... Nothing worked... Now - I've done some more reading and there does appear to be a "DTO" request - but in order to use it - I have to go into the P2A interface to set this up ? I was trying to do the DTO just with the verbal commands and recognition just went out to lunch... Is this the only way to deviate for weather ? Personally - I've been trialing P2A with the P2A interface on a second screen - minimized - out of my field of view - the more things we can do without having to stop flying and go to the P2A i…
