  1. Started by jt233,

So I am planning to do a flight from Anchorage to Amsterdam which I think takes you very close to the North Pole. I plan to fly the 747-8F which I think is capable, but I had a couple of questions. Is there anything special you have to do when planning a polar flight and what fuel rules would you use? I want to try to do it as realistically as possible. From what i understand the 8F switches heading mode automatically when reach the correct longitude. Is this correct? Thanks

most likely, we all know how to perform this procedure with a direct approach eg LGRP, it would be something like this: Spoiler but what if we don't have a direct approach? eg WPDL: Spoiler rwy 08 course 075 and rwy 26 course 255,also please note we cannot circle south... if we need runway 26, we go straight to the VOR and and reaching rwy turn left onto the course 075 +045=120? then (this SOP for the airbus): Spoiler but we will not have a downwind leg, since we have already passed the threshold in the first 30 seconds after turning 45 to the left... accordingly, how …

  3. Hello everybody, I would be very happy if you could help me. I am planning a tour in Japan. I would like to fly to a lot of destinations (over 100). I have entered all destinations in Littenavmap (LNM) and plan to plan the tour with LNM. I would like to fly the tour according to visual flight rules or use radio navigation. I also plan to use a different airfield for each leg. (So do not fly to an airport twice). Does anyone know a source for a list of all the airfields in Japan? (Skyvector only shows about 130 airfields). I am also interested in a good source for charts. So especially for VFR. For Germany (where I come from) I bought real tickets from the previo…

I have created a VFR flight plan from London City to Heathrow airports adding just Buckingham Palace as a point of interest. Created and saved it and after loading it and taking off it shows all of the sight pointers in the area, in this case some 20 or so. Is there a way of not displaying these extra pointers as they distract from the scenery on the way to Buckingham? Thanks in advance, Otrman AKA Henry

Good afternoon, I’m looking for some help planning a flight from Booker to Old Buckenham in the C152. I’ve always spent time in the PMDG’s, but after recently buying MSFS, I’m actually enjoying the VFR side of things. I’ve got as far as: BNN BPK (Would need to be below 2,500ft for this stretch IRL?) BKY Norwich NDB The problem with this route - it would take me directly overhead Honington (an RAF field) and I’m assuming that’s probably a no-go. I’m considering using the Cambridge NDB to fly 85deg at the appropriate time to pass in-between Honington & Wattisham, then measure the time/nm, to make the final left turn to Old Buckenham. …

  8. At Jocqueline Cochrane Regional (KTRM), I selected an approach that has a Runway at a negative altitude (presuming that is correct, these are the eastern deserts of California and all). Selecting apprach RNAV 35 (using the MSFS 2020 scenery), the flight plan TOD calculator is telling me it cannot calculate elevation profile because: The fact that the landing occurs at an unusual situation, a negative altitude, has me wondering if this is a bug.

Not sure if this is the correct forum but I tried the SimBrief forum and got no response. Airac update Post by forpat67 » Thu Feb 25, 2021 11:28 am I was wondering now that Microsoft are updating the Airac on a monthly basis in MSFS 2020 whether it might be possible to update on SimBrief to the equivalent month. Obviously without the usual Navigraph subscription. Bob P

Hi all I am new to flight sims and I am trying to learn navigation using the Nav trainer by Chale wood. I am at the stage now where he has introduced DME and the flight to to KFMH requires me to set Nav1 to 115.8 kHz and begin descent at DME13. My problem is that the King radio in the nav trainer panel only increments and decrements by 0.5 kHz and The DME panel only shows dashes. This applies whether I select 115.05 or 115.10. any advice would be appreciated

I am trying landing on Paro, Bhutan. I am studying the cloud break procedure VOR DME like on https://www.tropicairvirtual.com/company/twoballs/Carte/VQPR_CHARTS.pdf on page 10. I am trying to make sense of the altitudes, like at the VOR PRO why am I supposed to be at 13500 and why does it say 6167 under that. Apparently you should be there at 6167 feet above airport altitude? That is a lot, being only 6.7 miles away from the airport. Am I correct? Really interesting and dangerous approach!

Used LNM to create a multi legged Bush Trip for use in MSFS 2020 and all goes OK until I start it up in the sim If I have the aircraft parked on the Apron in one of the designated places when I start up the bust trip the aircraft is super imposed into another aircraft that is in the same parking bay. Delete all the files in MSFS 2020 and change the parking bay in LNM and yes, the same thing. I am using Bush Trip Injector to get the LNM generated file into MSFS 2020 and the Developer has no idea why it is happening. Anyone knows whay or is there a fix?

  16. I believe I successfully entered a plan into the 146-100 FMC from Ayes Rock to Sydney (YAYE to YSSY). I'd elected to land on RWY34L and for argument's sake to use the RIVET 3 STAR. I'm a newbie when it comes to FMCs, not too many of the planes in my virtual hangar have "proper" FMCs fitted: Ignore the 35000 feet cruise - I forgot to input 30000 when I obtained the plan although I did input that value in the FMC. When the TOD was reached I descended down to the next point which was 26800 at PKS according to the VNAV page on the FMC. I expected that at some point I would be descending down to 9800 at KADOM, but the VNAV page switched to TAMMI, yet…

  17. I've recently purchased the Just Flight DC-8 Jetliner series 50 to 70 (I like old iron). I have searched their forum, support (sic) site and many other places regarding the following issues without success. Hopefully this will be a positive stop. The product installed 3 folders in its root directory, Flight Plans (RTE format), Flights and Navdata. The particular aircraft model I am trying to fly is the DC-8-61 series. The aircraft has a FMS system which will load pre-installed flight plans. Well…………none of the preloaded routes are of interest to me. That being said……….I’ve tried creating my own flight plan via SimBrief. Their formats are either rte (lower case) or .p…

I’ve just finished trial of P2A with MSFS. I was attracted by the verbal interaction with atc, as I was a user of Vox-atc in FSX for many years. I really like the fp features of Pilot2atc! I think I’m through most of the learning-curve but have one question about saving, exporting and retrieving fp’s, and injecting them into MSFS. I couldn’t understand why, when I clicked-on “save”, it saved as a .vbf. When I went to load file (from msfs Welcome menu), there was nothing in the file. Seems MSFS wants .fps or .pln. Same with “export”, “import”, nothing appears in my saved file, it’s blank. Do I understand that when saving a fp one must actually type in the extension, l…

Hi. I'm trying to get my head around flight planning in msfs 2020 and would like to learn navigation with just Vors and Ndbs only. Looking at the UK on Skyvector I can see that some airports have this type of info available but many don't. Say for example I wanted to depart one airport and arrive at another that's approx 400 miles away and the arrival airport is only small and has no vor or ndb, how would I get to it? I see i can check the map for Vors and Ndbs close to that direct route and perhaps zig zag to them to get to my destination but what if there weren't any close to that specific direct route? I'd have to do some pretty large zig zags. In MSFS …

  20. Hello, I am flying from Europe to Seattle with TBM930 and save the flight. The next day I want to continue: I load the flight and in the cockpit I press the flightplan button and can see all waypoints. The next day I am flying some bush trips and then wanted to continue my flight. But now I can't see the flightplan anymore. I did the same steps. Does anyone know why this could happen? Isn't it possible to save flights in any order and continue them? Best Regards, Lessing

Hi everyone! Every time I load My Flights, I have to reprogram my FMC (Honeywell), which is very annoying, especially for Long flights which are not completed in one go and Flight plan too is verry big... So is there a way to save flights along with FMC state? Thanks in advance! Harsh Sharma

  22. I'm doing some Alaska routes in the Q400. The Anchorage to Alpine Airstrip route looks interesting to me. https://flightaware.com/live/flight/CON231/history/20201118/2210Z/PANC/PALP However, when I try to create the same in Simbrief, I always get the FFITZ4 departure while all of the Conoco Phillips flights operated by Alaska air seem to depart straight north. Any thoughts why that might be?

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone had any flight charts for CYWG. The only ones I can find online are from Back before 2008. The airport I have i downloaded a short time back for fs9 and the charts and airport diagram I have for the airport don’t match up very well at all. As of now I am using a screenshot from Google Earth of the airport for taxi purposes. I just did a flight into the airport yesterday for runway 18 and the approach givenOn the chart I have and from my FMC help me coming in at an angle. Anyways, if anybody can provide some new charts I would appreciate it. Thanks Chris [email protected]
