Hi. As part of my flight planning prior to setting up flight sim I usually relied on Sim Brief as i get all the necessary info that i need and flight plans for my PMDG, or so I thought. i will in most situations not get the correct real time runway departure and arrival info. I used to correct this by using AirNav Radar Box that was very accurate with the ACTUAL take off and landing runways. they however no longer provide that info. Does anyone know where one can get real time runway departure and take off info? obviously trying to keep is as real as it gets. (I'm also using real time weather) Thanks in advance Steve

Hello fellow flight simmers, as the fuel plan is part of the flight planning I guess this is the correct place for my topic. If not, my bad. I did an excel table for the fuel planning of the 717, I use the TFDi 717. I humbly ask for your comments and corrections. I gathered info all around the internet, some times it is official info, but most of the time it is not. I do not possess any 717 books that cost a 100 bucks, and I do not plan to do so, I am sure you understand (even if it will for sure be interesting to have). I explain my choices in the excel sheet. I tried to build the fuel planner as accurate as possible, but I am not a professional at all, just …

Hi I am planning my first GPS plight using the GS500 in FSX cessna 172 skyhawk I plan to fly from 4B6 to KLKP on the New York sectional landing at Runway 32. I have downloaded the approach plate for both R32 and R14 . My question is why does R 14 show a TDZE and an MDA but R32 shows neither. Also R32 has a displacement of 1140 feet and this info is also missing. Finally what is the significance of R32 being -A while R14 is called RWY14 Could any kind soul please illuminate me on these anomalies. Regards

So after the last update 3 days ago flying the A320 has been nothing but a fail. You cannot fly the plan realistically as far as navigating. Entering a fight plan in the MCDU is pointless. If you don't change anything while enroute, there is no problem. However, if you want to bypass a waypoint and go direct to another, the whole autotpilot nav system goes haywire. This was also a problem prior to the update, but you could work around it using heading and or a direct command. The aircraft will go direct to the waypoint selected(sometimes), but when it reaches that waypoint, instead of continuing to the waypoints past the waypoint you were going direct to, the MCDU reverts…

I fly MSFS2020 with my brother. We entered a flight plan from World. We both picked the Cessna 182. Departing Airport is KLOL Arriving Airport KRNO. When we go to Low Altitude IFR my flight plan shows " KLOL WADDS FMG KRNO" When my brother does this he doesn't get "WADDA or FMG" Just KLOL KRNO. I noticed he does not get waypoints like this on other flight plans too. If you select a from and to, then select low altitude IFR or High Altitude IFR, MSFS 2020 should be adding other waypoints in. Mine does..... but his doesn't. This has me baffeled why he is having this problem. Anyone have any ideas I can give him to help him out? Thanks Walt and Happy Flying

As a new student reL world I am wondering if GA pilots with modern avionics still bother with airway or navaid routing or if GPS Direct is becoming more popular for flight planning? Do any of our PPLs here have any insight? Thanks

I just bought LECO via Orbx. I like to practice SIDS and STARS from the airports I buy, but this Vpt RWY 03 approach puzzles me. It is a visual approach, but how am I supposed to start where? In particular: how to fly from where 114 degrees to CO401 with only VOR and DME? And I approach at 3500 feet?

I am using the stock A320 NEO in MSFS 2020. If I am enroute and change the runway at my destination, the autopilot begins a left or right 360 turn. Sometimes it heads back to the last waypoint and sometimes it completes the 360 degree turn and starts tracking properly to the next waypoint. What am I doing wrong. Thanks for the replies in advance.

Was wondering if there is a quicker way to change radio freq's in the A320, other than clicking the knobs with the mouse. It can be a daunting task having to switch freq's several times during the flight when on VATSIM. Especially in the terminal environment and several controllers are working. Was hoping there is, but don't see anything. Would be nice to be able to enter the freq on the keyboard and press enter somewhere.

I have seen while doing long haul flights, when you carry a lot of fuel, climbing straight away to FL380 isn't possible, the aircraft will stall somewhere around FL340. So I have to wait for like 5-15 mins, and then increase altitude by 1000ft and so on... nd you Slowly reach your Cruising altitude. My question is, Is there any other way to find/calculate what FL is feasible for the current load, instead of waiting for that scary stall whistle?

Hi new to this part of AVSIM and wanted to ask what would the absolute normal takeoff flaps setting be for the Boeing 767-300ER? I’ve looked for a few times on Google but never got a definite answer. Anything would be of help. Cheers!

I am learning to fly VFR crosscountry and saw some tutorials how to setup a flightplan. I have some questions: - I can use Skyvector to create a VFR plan with specific waypoints but how can I use Skyvector to edit the altitudes for the specific waypoints (to be clear of restricted airspace) in the navlog - how do I get the resulting navlog to show within the MS FS2020 VR cockpit?

I hope this makes sense. I have been watching a few youtube videos on how to use the G1000 autopilot in MSFS, but I am stuck. I am using the Cessna 172 with the G1000. I have NAV 1 set up with the VOR 1 frequency, and the autopilot is following the CDI to the VOR with no issues. I now want to set up NAV 2 (ahead of time) to follow a course to VOR 2. I enter the VOR 2 frequency into NAV 2 (all is fine) but when I click on the soft button for NAV 2 (under CDI along the bottom of the G1000), and try to set the course/CDI for NAV2 to follow (again, not now at this time, but when I pass VOR 1), however, as soon as I start tuning a course with NAV 2, the autopilot sta…

I am currently living in a caravan touring outback Australia, so internet is often not available. Using P3d V5 I want to create flight plans offline but many planners available need internet access to work. I used FS Commander when I was using FSX, which also exported to PMDG. Nearly all flight planners require internet connection. The P3d planner is not very good. Any suggestions welcome.

Hello, I want to depart with my Piper PA-28 arrow (in MSFS) from EHAM via the ANDIK 2F departure. After ANDIK I want to fly to UNEXO (chart 10-3X5) and change to VFR. Am I mandatory to fly under flight level 95 or 65 due to the alt restriction by ANDIK? Martijn

I did a Simbrief planned route from EHBK to EGLC with the G1000 in the C208B. The autopilot flies the route well, but I tried to cross-check if it indeed is flying correctly by tuning into the corresponding NAV radio's with radials. I can tune the radio's but not set CRS for the radials. The course windows stays on the course from the active leg of the flightplan, so I cannot tune a radial that I am supposed to intercept. Is that correct?

I'm learning how to fly an approach using Prepar3D v4.5, Reality-XP's GTN 750, and Flysimware's Falcon 50. I quickly read the GTN manual but still have lots of newbie questions. Does anyone know of a nice walk-through (detailed) tutorial? On the screen shot below, after arriving at the SNS VOR: 1. How do I go about capturing the ILS? 2. Do I manually fly to ZEBED? How far? How do I get from SNS VOR to ZEBED since there are no directions from SNS? 3. Do I need to activate the plane's auto pilot? 4. At what point in time do I press the APR button on the plane's auto pilot and the 'Load Approach & Activate' button on the GTN? 5. Can GTN auto land the …

New to flight sim and aviation in general. I have found that I really enjoy departures and arrivals that use a 180 degree turn after take off / on approach. Is there a name for this in aviation? I think of it as a 180 departure or 180 approach but I'm hoping there is an actual name for this.

Would anyone know where the setting is to PERMANENTLY fix a zoom in/out setting in the map in Little Nav Map? Meaning... when I set a zoom level, it STAYS there, PERMANENTLY. I found one setting that will allow a user defined zoom setting to stay put for up to 3 minutes or so, then it goes back to a default setting centering the aircraft with a medium range zoom. It's Tools/Options "Jump Back Resume...." and can be set to a maximum of 300 seconds, then reverts back to centered zoom. I guess I can't bXXXh too much as it's free software (of course I sent a nice donation), but I get really annoyed with software that won't do what it's told 🙂 Anyone? …

I do a lot of sightseeing flight planning, not using auto-pilot, but using LNM, and flying MS 2020, tracking progress using LNM Connect. I create points of interest POIs along my flight plan, right now focusing on castles in Ireland. When flying I can keep on course using the pointer that locates the POI and the magenta line. When I am getting close to a POI the pointer to the POI disappears so I never get to see. I create POIs by editing my flight plan using GPS data from Bing or Google maps, or just by getting location data from the Internet. I have been researching and fine that there are 2 types of waypoints, fly-to and fly-over which describes these but I …

I've reached a point where I feel pretty comfortable using autopilot functions in the G1000 and G3000 in MSFS. Now, I'd like to learn a bit about back course. I understand this in that it is used at airports that have only one localizer and it happens to be at the end of the runway I'd be landing on, correct? A flight I'm in the middle of planning is from KSEA to KBOI in a G36, which uses the G1000. Assuming RWY10R at KBOI will be the active landing runway, I can see that the localizer is located at the back end of the runway and the telltale missed approach turnoff is *before* the runway as seen here: https://flightaware.com/resources/airport/BOI/IAP/ILS+Y+OR+LOC+Y+…
