Hi All, I'm looking for a flight planner that has a vertical weather profile capability similar to the Flightpath Tool from aviationweather.gov. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hi all just trying to work out the figures. This is for the 787 900 - total passengers is 285. Now the QW787 dispatcher has 1 passenger loaded as 210lbs. Total passengers for the plane is 285 so total passenger weight will be 59 850lbs (285*210lbs). With Simbrief I've selected the weight of a passenger as the same (210lbs). To get the sums right I modified the ZFW of the dispatcher by adding another 59,850lbs. I did this so the MTOW and ZFW could be matched with the dispatcher otherwise the ZFW/TOW would be out due to the passenger weights compared to what Simbrief calculated. Does anyone get me? Am I correct lol?

FYI The Garmin PC Trainer was updated on June 19th so more than likely it will be AIRAC 1906 because 1907 was released on June 20th and RealityXP and Flight1 "most likely" will release an update to the GTN's with 1906. Point is that if you want your Sim, and all your planes, tools, flight planners ect.. to match with the GTN750/650 as closely as possible now is the time to update your fsaerodata and/or grab the navigraph airac cycles to 1906 if you can if not 1907.

I would like to verify if these formulas are correct with regards to calculating the descent. Let's say, for instance, I'm flying a 777-300ER from London to Paris (2 hours flight). 1) Intitial Descent T/D = Current Altitude * 3 - Airport Elevation = ANS / 1,000 = FINAL ANS 2) Descent Rate TAS / 2 = ANS * 10 = ft. per min 3) Initial Descent (Alternate method) *Constantly check V/S every 10,000ft - Altitude Current Altitude(3 digits only) / 3 = NM (ex. 27,0(00)/3 = 90 NM) - Speed *1 NM per 10 kts speed reduction Current Speed - Average Speed(200 kts) / 10 (ex. 320 - 120 = 200 / 10 = 12 NM) - Wind *For every 10kts of wind, add…

After the nightmarish attempt at installing P3DV4.5, and the associated frustration I experienced, I decided to reinstall P3DV4.4 fresh. While I can get P3DV4.4 to run, (reduced FPS), I am not able to save a flight plan, or a Scenario. I uninstalled Academic Client, and reinstalled it, but to no avail. I can create the Flight Plan, but cannot save it to My Documents. I think I may have inadvertently deleted a file that I should have not. Does any body have any possible suggested fix????

G’Day guys and girls my first post. A quick question about AIRAC and Navigraph. Are they the same thing? From what i read online i think they are. Im using Little Navmap with X Plane 11. In LNM in the main toolbar it says AIRAC 1904 which is right and then below it has Navigraph which shows an older version. So how do i update the Navigraph files in XP11? I selected Do not use Navigraph and it still works fine so im not sure whats up. Thanks

Hi, I just discovered Moving Map by BlueSkyscenery. I like these features: -moving map with Lo HI and VFR sectional layout -moving map On Top in Prepar3D Fullscreen mode! The only other program I know that has this capability is FS Tramp. Is there a program which has integrated these features: - flightplanning possibilities - flightplan seen on moving map -moving map on top in fullscreen mode -maybe also SIDs and STARs on the moving map Rene Feijen

I just purchased the Flight1 GTN 750. I created a flight plan using Sim Brief. I created the .gfp export file and loaded into the GTN 750 and it was unable to load a waypoint. I wasn’t using the latest AIRAC update via Sim Brief. Is there a flight planing system that uses the Garmin GTN 750 database? Do I just purchase the latest AIRAC update? What is the best way to resolve this? Thanks,

So i fly a lot on vatsim, and im also a member of virtual Norwegian. However i am not satisfied with my flight planning methods. Firstly, i get my plan from my VA, then to find out how much fuel i need i go to onlineflightplanner and type in the destination airport and the departure airport. On short haul that works fine, but on long haul the different softwares plan a different plan. So fuel isnt accurate anymore and stuff. Now, to my question, does any of you know about a flight planning software that is kinda similar to pfpx (but free) where i can just type in my route and it will calculate flight level, fuel, and all in kgs? Thanks in advance! Philip

Hello guys Is there any good addon that allows to choose arrival gate too while flightplanning? Well i did think about Aerosoft Pro Flightplanner but its little complicated for me because of various waypoints, SID, fuel options and more. I dont want all those stuff. What i want is just a proper realistic route and the most important is an option for choosing arrival gate.

Planning on doing some flights in the Antonov with the space shuttle. I like to keep it realism and so looking to fit two good flights in that's going to take us into three hours. Yes two flights that's under three hours. If you think two is to much and only want one three hours flight then say. I have some ideas but the airports that I want to go to doesn't really take Antonov.

Hi, I’m having some trouble understanding what I did wrong: I was flying under heavy fog to KTHV with my A2A Bonanza and brand new Reality XP GTN 750 and I loaded a vector approach to RW 17. As I reached the initial fix, I put my AP in approach mode. The plane aligned to the 166 degrees vector, the CDI was showing a nice full arrow and when I reached the FAF the AP catched the glideslope and started the descent. But from that moment, I watched the TRK moving away from the 166 DTK by a few degrees as we were approaching. At runway level, the track was at 171 degrees, leaving the runway to my left. What could have caused the plane to move away fr…

Hello I plane a flight using the defualt flight planner, tick the IFR box try end routing say VOR to VOR, check the mapped route visually all there. Plan it on FSC all there..plan it on aFSC all their, But FSX will not let me fly any route, all it wants to do is give me radar vectors to the landing runway. is this all FSX will do, it never asked passing or eta at Nav point it is pretty crude RT but I don’t mind, just won’t it to be one step ahead of my planed route, if I want vectors I With ask for them. The plan is filed Fly comersual twins DH 290ft, do I need Need an add on . Trubshaw

Following the popularity of my original flight planning tutorial and YouTube videos, I have now made a more detailed tutorial document in the Avsim Library under Flight Plans. You may download the document from the library. Cheers, Richard😉

Hi everyone, it’s been quite a while since I last posted in the forums! I’m having what you might call a “blank moment” in regards to Zero Fuel Weight coming from PFPX being input into the FMC in the FS ACTIONS > Fuel and Payload section. Inputting my total fuel from PFPX is fine, however when it comes to inputting the ZFW on the payload section, I’m confused. The figure I’m getting from PFPX is configurable to display either KGS or LBS. I currently have it set to KGS, however in the FMC, it appears to have a different format. I wanted to know if the FMC or the PMDG aircraft calculate the ZFW in Tonnes or in x1000 lbs, because PFPX is giving me figu…

Hi, I've had some trouble planning a route over the past several weeks. As I ask for help please understand, while I know the common (and frustrating answer I get) is "just read the manual", not everyone learns best from a manual. I learn best by reading support materials and then working in conjunction with an instructor. I had success programming the route and then flying the specific tutotial to Dubai. Upon trying to program my own flight I started having issues. Product PMDG777 My Route: CYYZ to CYWG Skyvector gave me a suggested route of AVSEP2 SSM DCT GOVIT GOVIT4 OK. So in FMC I enter my dep and arrival locations. Then click"DEP" to choose my ru…

I don't know if this is the right section for this topic but, I couldn't find anything more specific. I am having some trouble with ProATC, everything works great with my PMDG a/c. When I tried to load a flight plan to my iFly 737ng I can't get the plan to load to the fmc. When I start the sim, I'm tuned to the local ATIS and I can access my ProATC menu, but. When I ask for clearance I get no response no matter which frequency I use. I went into the settings of PATC and checked the folder locations and everything is correct. I did notice one thing though. PATC is using the file extension .fpl for the iFly 737 flight plan folder but, the included flight plans with the iFly…
