Hi guys, I use FSC9 and FSBuild 2.2 for flight planning in FSX, up until a few days ago whenever i saved a flightplan in either the speeds and altitudes would be on the legs pages on the FMC of both my PMDG and LevelD aircraft, as they should be, but now all I get is the waypoints on the left and -/- on the right, the speeds and altitudes are missing, I have printed the flightplans and they are on the plan so it would seem that FSC and Fbuild produce the data, I then export the plans but it would seem that the saved data is not all there, anyone any idea's on this one.

EDIT Never mind! I think I fugured this out already... The N stands for knots and so the number is the speed. N0362F190 at the start means I have to go to F190 right away, NIK/N0447F390 means I have to climb to F390 right away after NIK and KETEX/N0443F370 means I have to descend to F370 right away after KETEX. I don't have to stay at that altitude for a specific time, I may descend when needed to conform to the next constraints which aren't on the OFP but which can be seen on the MCDU... Can anyone explain to me how I should 'read' the bold parts of the following plan? N0362F190 LEKO1F LEKKO N872 NIK/N0447F390 UY131 BARTU UZ709 CIV UN872 LESDO UM728 KETEX/N0443F…

Hi all, I'm looking for schedules (possibly scanned ones) from airlines like BA, LTU, TWA, Eastern, Pan Am, or even PSA, to find information on flight numbers and times. I would love to take the L-1011 I bought for my Flight Sim on a realistic flight, but basic info on what flight# departed what airport, and where to, and a departure time will be enough for me. Also, since only the L-1011-385-1 (Tristar 1, the very first version) is simulated, it would be nice to have schedules from older dates (before the 1's were modified to, or replaced by updated Tristar versions) So, if anyone could help me out on this, I do appreciate it!

Hi folks. My question is about PFPX and ASN. Right now my subscription for PFPX is over, so I decided to use ASN as weather data for PFPX. Seems to be that something is wrong. Always my Ai planes are taking off from different runway, landing is same. It looks like PFPX does not read weather data from ASN, or maybe I am doing something wrong. Here it is - in PFPX I gave path for current wx snapshot.txt and wx station list.txt - first I start ASN then PFPX Am I doing something wrong, or I miss something, or those two simply do not work together ?

Folks I was flying SFO-LAS last night in the 146-200. I fly off line and really only use the FSX ATC for taxi/take off and landing/taxi instructions with maybe a bit through B/C airspace clearance if I can be bothered. All flights are VFR as far as the sim is concerned. So I was looking through STARs and found those out of the west seem to end up very late downwind for 25L. How to I get to 07R from there? Do we complete the STAR and fly a circuit of some sort to get to anything other than 25L/R, or would we expect vectors from approach for a visual? I called up the tower about 30 DME and was instructed to join straight in for 07R. I was high, but had the …

I use Professional Flight Planner X (PFPX) to plan my flights and I'm very curious about the meaning of two parts of the OFP (Official Flight plan, the viewable, ".txt" version of the flight plan). In the fuel section towards the top of the OFP, right under the spot for "Captain's Signature", there is a spot where it says "CLB: 250/310/84 DES: 84/320/250" I know that they stand for Climb and Descent but I don't understand what the numbers mean next to them. I've looked all over the internet and I can't find a single answer.

Hi there, Its been a while, since i have studies aviation law/theory for australia and ILS. I have been working on my flight skills in the PMDG 737 NGX. And i have several questions, as i try to fly as close as possible to real world procedures. General, What is the difference between a CAT A,B,C,D approach and a 1, 2 or 3 approach The way i understand it its a CAT A B C is an IFR approach, and CAT D is visual, A,B,C correllate with 1,2,3 Approaches Australia, How can i read an ILS chart, to determine the correct DH for a Cat 1,2,3 approach? and What are the current autoland regulations in australia (Last i heard was way back in 2007, which stated t…

Hello. I've been simming for near enough half my life now, but one thing I've never really been able to get to grips with it Trans-Atlantic flights. I don't know where to find tracks, how to request clearance for it (I fly on Vatsim near enough always), ETOPS planning, I know nothing about it, but I'd really love to do it. So, my request is, can someone write a short dummies guide on how to find the active tracks, how to put them in the FMC or MCDU, expected conversations with ATC, how to calculate ETOPS alternates, etc etc. Thanks in advance, Alexander.

Is this correct. Eastbound – 0100z to 0800z, Westbound – 1130z to 1900z. Times are UTC at 30° West. UTC time is based at 30 degrees west and not Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) 30 degree west puts it at the border of shanwick/gander oceanic. Thanks, nebojsa

Hello. I am currently in the process of planning a flight from EGKK to KMCO in PFPX. However, I noticed that the airlines use a NAT that is pretty far south. I'm currently looking at NAT J. This track starts in the middle of the Atlantic. An airliner that recently flew this route actually used the first two waypoints of NAT F before deviating to the south to cross via NAT J. This is shown in the image below. How is a clearance obtained from ATC to fly these half NATs? Is it normal to simply hop straight to the middle of the Atlantic and then join a NAT? I am many well confused.

Dear aviation enthusiasts & dispatchers, I'm an aviation enthusiast and study at an aviation engineering & operations acadamy near Amsterdam, NL. I Worked for KL in the past few years. One of My passions are the flight planning all over the world. I worked and searched a lot with the principles in the EU like CFMU validation, optimal routes, cost index based, and tech & data planning like bass & balance. At the moment I would like to specialise more on the U.S. Domestic flights from Delta Air Lines, as I'm a big DAL fan. I was wondering If someone can help me with the following as I was looking behind. I've been looking for some older ATC pla…

Hi all, I`ve recently been getting used to the citation x and I`m a little confused on the descent profile the FMC is giving. I`ve loaded Gatwick to Eastmids along with the SID and STAR for ILS27 approach. However, its not starting to descend until I`m reaching waypoint ROKUP and the EGNX STAR chart says I should be passing this at 8000 feet. The cruise is up at 25000. The fsbuild plan does seem to reduce the altitude sooner. Am I missing something really obvious? thanks for any help, cheers Ollie

Looking at the Seattle Four Departure I was a bit stumped by what this means. I understand it all but the SEA R-161 part. I know SEA is the Seattle VOR but what does R-161 mean? Flying the departure is also strange because after you clear the runway you immediately turn back and fly past the airport to pass over the SEA VOR.

I wasnt sure about which topic to post this question in, but since it's closely related to flight planning, I think this would be the best forum for it. As I'm from the Netherlands north-west Europe is a bit of a 'comfort zone' when it comes to where all my addon airports exactly are and I know the location and the name and I can make my flight plans almost blindfolded. But I'd love to expand my comfort zone and fly in areas where I'm not that familiar with where every addon airport is located, or when I'm at one of my addons, what the next addon airport will be, that the time spend on planning (looking through the list of addons, comparing it with plan-G/Skyvector, s…

Folks Part in preparation for a certain sim airliner maker releasing a DC-6 and part nostalgia, I fired up FS9 yesterday and flew a couple of Cal Classic birds up and down the US west coast. In the days before INS, let alone RNP, how did airliners approach airports? Did they simply turn up on a radial from where they came and get vectored from a point to an ILS, or descend DME steps until visual and then circle to land? Or were there STARs of a fashion using VORs and NDBs (thank heavens for a navigator!)? Subsequently, when did STARs become common place? Was an INS accurate enough once there were ground stations in range, or were they too slow/cumbersome to pr…

Combining these two great products, we are talking about more than 100 US bucks here. Are both doing the same functionalities and I think PFPX doesn't have moving map? Now, I have EFB and I will not fly my FSX without it. But what will PFPX do for me that EFB has not done it? Enquiry mind wants to know........thanks Kin M. (KLAX-Moorpark 3 Arrival)
