Okay I am using 777-300 in X-Plane to fly from PHLI to PHNL, and I'm using EFASS as my flight planning software, it gives me a route of: BOOKE V15 SHIGI V12 HNL V2 LNY I'm not sure how to enter this into the FMC correctly. So far I assume i press DEP/ARR and select DEP, and then select LIHUE as my sid and then 35 as my takeoff runway? When looking at the actual flight path on the map, it seems as the route takes me all the way past PHNL to the island of Lanai, and does a 180 and heads back to PHNL? This doesn't sound right to me. Sorry guys I can't figure out how to do flight planning, after watching so many videos on youtube I'm still confused. :( I just want…

Hi, I have a strange problem with my FSC. It makes the weirdest and longest possible routes! I dont understand route. Even the direct route between two destinations without and waypoints takes a couple of hours more than the route in real life. Any one have any fixes? Like from Hethrow to JFK a flight is between 6-7 hours, FSC generated a route that takes me over argentina and the duration was about 12 - 13 hours! Anyone has any solutions to this?? Thanks in Advance Chirag

Hi. I wanted to fly this route by PMDG MD-11 several days ago. The route offered by Route Finder and ASC has a > shape and passes across the Atlantic to the Africa near Senegal then fly up along the continent's coast towards Europe but when I checked planes routes between these two airports in FlightRadar24 it turned out to be almost direct routes. Which one is real?

I plan my vfr flights with a sectional and an e6b. What do yall use for the calibrated airspeed? It's normally found in the pilot's operating handbook but that doesn't exist for the default aircraft. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, Does anyone have Meridiana (ISS/IG) full flightplan which would show up-to-date information about their B767 equipment (Aircraft equipment+transponder+ADS capability and preformance based navigation cabability also). It would be nice to know.

Hi, I am a pilot rate d on ERJ series, and i have 8000fh. If you want your fight prep look more realistic, you can use the following app. i have built this app that displays performance of the E135/145 in TO, CR, LD, EMER. No more doubt about RTO distance, Net Level Off or even EMER Landing Dist. If you want to play around: erjPerfs on stores. Have good flights. Pascal

Hi all, Something I've been wondering about. I want to join a STAR at a fix in the middle. I think I've seen it in RW flight plans. How do you file that? As an example: The BAYVU 3 Arrival at KSAN. I want to file SLI then join the STAR at HUBRD. Gregg

I've been getting used to flying the Aerosoft Airbus 320, and am finding when programming my arrival into the flight plan of the MCDU, I'm discovering options called "VIAS" Take for example an arrival into TBPB Grantley Adams (Bridgetown, Barbadoes). After I choose the arrival runway, I am prompted to consider Approach VIAS (as not STARS exist). Consider the ILS Rwy 09. VIAS include: BGI, D1540, D3460. What are VIAS? BGI is a VOR, but what are D1540 and D3460?

Hey ya'll, I just updated PFPX with the most current AIRAC cycle and noticed that it ran through an update of the stored routes after the update. It showed there was 4,000 or so routes out of date. Is it recommended to delete them? Im concerned about losing alot of stored routes if I do this...the count would probably go from 9,000 or so to around 5,000. Joel

Just checking to make sure. Can the iFly737NG work with PFPX? And I did find the product page of PFPX on the Aerosoft website, but there isn't a link to where I can buy the package. Can someone tell me where to buy it?

Hello, Guys! What are VORs and NDBs? I know that these are navigation beacons but Every Aircraft has GPS in it and Pilot can easily go through by GPS, but despite of GPS why we have needed VOR and NDB? I've read about these on Wikipedia but unable to clear my concept. So please help me out here. What're the advantages of VOR and NDB to pilot? Many Aircraft goes away from VORs and NDBs and many of them goes over these beacons and follow them. So what actually the matter is? What kind of info, these beacons give to pilot? Even they've no human in them and how pilots contact these? Please explain me briefly. Regards, AP,

Hello guys. So I dont do much flying out of Australia. Im trying to get a RW route this evening from YSSY to CYVR. ACA034 I normally use flightwise.com and or flightaware for routes in USA/Canada, and CFMU for European routings, They have the route when it gets filed, but only the route segment from USA airspace. for example... last night flightaware before it departed it gave me "3800N 13000W VESPA ENDAW SEA PAE GRIZZ4" Im guessing the Aussie are like eurocontrol/cfmu they wont give out routings via flightwise and flightaware. So if anyone has a website in OZ which works like flightwise or flightaware can they pm me, or anyone who works for air can…

Hi Guys, Stumbled across this map a guy did while laid up with a broken leg. It supposedly shows the shortest route to visit all countries (UN recognized) of the world. Apparently only 6 don't have airports. Anyone tried this? If so, what aircraft? I'm guessing that all the capitals should have an airport with the ability to take a small jet. Regards, Jonjo69

Hey guys, I thought it might be a good idea to share our long-haul flights on this thread, comment on routes, alternates, fuel consumptions, interesting details, maybe post some screenshots etc, I'll start myself with my flight from Frankfurt to San Francisco, EDDF-KSFO on the next post. Might use this first post as an index, so that anyone can easily navigate through our ETOPS flights. I like to fly online via Vatsim and I am trying to do a better job at picking the appropriate routing. So I have a few questions concerning what is the preferred/correct method for selecting a departure and or arrival procedure and although the title says without ATC I suppose it's applicable with or without ATC available. I have access to current charts via Navigraph subscription and do my flight planning via Flight Sim Commander (FSC8) and Active Sky Next for Wx reporting. So what I have been doing in now is looking at the conditions (wind) at the departure airport then check airfield notes in Navigraph to see if there is a preferred Ops direction for winds under …

Good afternoon, morning, or evening.. I wasn't sure where to find out this information, so I figured I'd start here with all you aviation buffs. I was looking on flightaware for a flight plan from Dubai (OMDB) to Seattle (KSEA), I knew that United Arab Emirates flew non stop to and from. I'm curious as to why there flight plan FROM Dubai Is only YNY J503 YDC JAKSN GLASR9, as opposed to flying TO Dubai from Seattle is STMSN DIABO J503 YDC YQU J526 YOJ YHY J526 YZF 7000N 11100W 7500N 11000W 8000N 10500W 8500N 9700W ABERI G359 SH G498 ALAGI G498 TINRI A299 BALPI A299 URG A370 AFGAN G775 ASB A117 RIKOP A419 DARAX. Why does one flight plan seem abnormally short…

I really don't know which star should I choose and which VOR app. UL995 is the last airway and next should I choose TIGRA 1P? and VOR V? I would be grateful if anyone could tell and explain me correct approach cause i want to practise that Type of app. Thanks Again and sorry for my English ;-)

I had an installation of fs9 and only kept it around so I could do my flight plans in FSNav, and have done many of them. I still have many of them but I want to modernise my flight planning with the ability to save in PMDG, A2A, fsx etc files. Is there a no brainer, planner that does all these things? Still? Jon
