This is a real world flight plan of BA 777-200 ER from London Heathrow to Mumbai. I requested pilots to hand over their flight plan papers at the end of flight which they happily did. I am thankful to them. The cost index BA used for this flight was 100. Initial flight level 320. I have the GTN 750 gps and wanted to find an online (preferably free) flight plan service to help me setup the GTN. What do you guys use for a detailed flight plan service that would help answer some of the questions I see when setting up the GTN? I was going to try Sky Vector but when it came to activating my account the terms of service had a checkmark saying, " I will not file flight plans for non-real flights" (not sure exactly what that means as I would only be using it to get info to insert into my GTN and would not really be filling anything.

Hi All, I fly with Skywards VA, but their despatch does not provide, passenger and cargo loads for the flights. Is there a random load sheet generator that I can use. I mainly fly the pmdg 777-300ER. Without random loads for every flight, planning is becoming a bit boring. Thanks Harishanker

My goal is to understand published routes a little better, but I need some help. Can anyone get the following route to work in their FMC using the 1507 AIRAC cycle? The route was found on flightaware from KBNA to KMEM: DANLS3 DANLS SPKER BLUZZ1 Now, what part of the above route refers to a SID or STAR and what part is a waypoint? DANLS3.SPKER is a published SID for BNA. BLUZZ1 one is a published STAR or MEM. When I try to use this route, basically I have to enter the BNA runway without a SID and go straight into the BNA.BLUZZ1 transition/STAR to avoid a discontinuity in the route. If I try to add a SID or any waypoints like SPKER, it doesn't work. I…

Hi, I'm trying to replicate the following in FSX: FR8163 / FR8165 (EGSS / LEMG), and would like to find the real world planned routes. I notice that in flightaware, for US routes this is shown, however it doesn't seem to be there for the flights I'm interested in. Can anyone suggest where I can find this information? Thanks for any help.

Hello. I'm not sure if this is the best place to post this or not, but, I'm wondering if there is a tool out there for FS9 that will search active AI flight plans to find, and change, any entry associated with a specific airport. In other words, change one airport to another. The example would be an airport in FS9 that no longer actually exists and has been basically replaced with another. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, I have been wondering if there is such a thing as an optimum Flex Temp that can be selected when presented with a range of viable flex temp options all other things being equal, in TOPCAT? Is there a minimum stop margin for specific aircraft that comes into play or is this completely pilot discretion or what other logic comes into play to determine which flex temp is best suited for departure? With a little trial by error I have been selecting take-off parameters that give at least 600m margin in good weather conditions. There's not so much info about this specific topic re stopping margins and Flex Temp selection I could find, but did find this little piece…

Hi. Is this forum page monitored often? I have seen a few posts that seem to go back a while with little or no replies. I am looking for access to real world flight plans from UK to US. Specifically VS15 (EGKK - KMCO) for this coming Saturday 21st March. I know it won't have been filed yet but thought I'd drop a note in here to see who has access to the necessary systems. Cheers::::WB

I'm trying to plan a flight from Anchorage to Hong Kong and have been doing some flight planning research. I've been studying some routes on flightaware.com and see that many routes include NOPAC routes and OTRs in the flight plan. Is there a set of NOTAMs or ICAO rules that govern transoceanic flight planning to include certain tracks or other routing requirements when flying transoceanic routes to/from Alaska? I'm a little new to this so some of my terminology might be flawed. Todd

I just completed a test flight from EGLL to EIDW, on approach I thought everything was good until I started to prepare for catching the glideslope. After searching the internet for the glideslope altitude I found nothing, i hit the VOR LOC but it turns my aircraft right around the other way, and so I had to land manually. Is there a certain website that everyone finds their glideslope altitudes and runway information? if so, a link would be very appreciated Also, is there a website for finding SIDS and STARS in a flight plan to enter in the FMC? Thanks (The aircraft used was a PMDG 777) Jamie

Hi guys, yesterday I landed my Leonardo MD80 in EDDL via RNAV 05R approach in FSX Stem Edition. This is the approach plate: https://fly.rocketroute.com/plates/adminview/EDDL_3-1-5_GPS___FMS_RNAV_Arrival_Chart_Transition_to_Final_Approach_%28Overlay_to_Radar_Vector_Pattern%29_RWY_05L_05R.pdf?cmd=pdf&docid=400000000096018&icao=EDDL Starting from DOMUX at FL140 down till to FAF NATOS to 3000' The strange thing is this: when I do the final right turn base to align with 05R (always following lateral navigation with FMC NAV TRK) the aircraft was completely misaligned with runway 05R (I arrive parallel to 05R and not aligned to) so I can't capture the LOC…

Hi all, Can someone tell me how the star pigot should be handled as per the star chart in the link below. My proatcx just clears me for the approach and my a319/777 always follows the holding pattern first, and it always shows the holding pattern on the map. http://www.pilotnav.com/airport/EGNX anyone else experienced this? thanks Ollie

Hi, This is my first post! I have flown many flights on FSX before now, however every single one of them have been offline and not on a network such as Vatsim. I'm thinking about going online soon but first I have a few questions: How do I decide what my callsign should be? Can it be something I come up with randomly or does it come with the flightplan? Leading on from that, how do I decide what the flight number should be? I use Simbrief to plan my flights and it asks for the airline and the flight number - is this random as well or does it come from somewhere else? Also, how do I determine what the registration of the aircraft I'm flying is? I use a PMDG 7…

Hello simmers, I have been thinking this for a while now and I was not able to work it out. It might be blindingly obvious but I am not sure. My question is what altitude should a jet fly at to give the highest true airspeed (TAS). Because I have noticed that the higher I fly I actually fly slower but I am saving fuel. I think this will be useful for when I am planning a flight that I want to complete a bit quicker than usual. Thank you for your help.

Hi. I've been flying an airplane on Flight Simulator X that has all the real instruments, fmc, etc. I use a program that copys the real weather (wind direction, clouds, etc) to Flight Simulator on the current moment. Now, I'm going to tell how I plan the FMC, if you desagree, tell me something. I look at the real METAR, at the wind direction, and by looking at the map, If the airport only has one runway, I know in wich direction I should land. What has been happening to me is that, I have all my plan made in the FMC, but when I am approaching and contact the ATC (the default tower which I only can contact very close to the airport), they tell me to land on the opposi…

How do you cross the Atlantic when there is nats and no airways. Flightaware gives the nat coordinates when flying across the atlantic-but I was wondering how do you do the same with fs2004/fsx?-and how can you use navdatapro to fly nats across the Atlantic?

Hello, Guys! In image one is departing airport and second is arriving airport runway. There's is my house too. How will I know that today, how the plan will depart? I mean According to Plan A or Plan B? If plane departs like PLAN B then there's my house and definitely it'll go over my House and I can take its picture over me easily. If It goes with PLAN A then I cannot take the picture. This is actually the problem. lol I hope guys here will help me. Best Regards, AP,

Just getting into all this, but I'm noticing something odd with flight planning. It seems with the FSX and Plan-G flight planners I can create flight plans that take no notice of the range of my aircraft, ie a plan for the east coast to the west coast in one hop in a Cessna 172. Am I doing something wrong or do I need to do my flight plan as a series of in-range hops I've figured out on the side with pen and paper? Not a problem, but with all the built in assistance I'd think there was something there to help out that I'm missing.

Hello all, I'm in the process of planning an IFR flight from KATL to KFLL. In the route that I obtained from FlightAware (shown below), there is a short section where, according to the semicircular rule, I should be cruising at a different altitude. I'm wondering how this situation might be handled in the real world. Would a plane be asked to change their altitude after a turn in order to remain in constant compliance with the semicircular rule? Or, if there is no presence of traffic, would the plane simply stay at their original altitude? Route: https://i.imgur.com/WO9ESvv.png
