Hi fellow flight simmers and particularly Carenado. Please , Please, how do we get the key pad up when we are entering details for flight planning in the G1000? It is driving me batty and I am unable to complete a flight plan, The You Tube videos show a key pad for data entry, but as usual do not tell us how to access this. Please Carenado, help us frustrated flight simmers out!!!! Regards Richard SWAN

My question is about these procedures in mid 70's, during time when 727 and L1011 were crossing skies. Were SIDs and STARs present those times ? How INS controlled planes fly in/out procedures ?

Hello bright minds out there I have been trying to use the new fd-fmc in airbu 320 for some time. I go through tutorial again and again with no succes. Every time I load f-plan ofcurse it has to be fsx default f-plan and I can not modify for the fd-fmc, can not change any fixes or waypoints ,following the tutorial I press the required buttons/boxes but nothing happens no SIDS no STARS and even cannot activate the default f-plans to fly please help me to be a little happy

Hi guys, Is there an addon or utility that can tell me for each airport which airlines are assigned to which terminals and gates? I keep just picking gates and they end up belonging to other airlines cause I don't know which are assigned. Thank you in advance.

Does anyone know of an online service that gives real-world information about where airlines are designated to park in commercial airports? Part of my flight planning, I would like to know where I'm likely to be assigned a gate at the different airports I fly to. SIMStarter NG helps on some airports, but it would be great if there's an online service like FlightRadar24; I checked there already but the info is not there. It doesn't have to be the exact airline I'm flying but something similar, like international vs domestic terminals and gates. Thanks, Mustafa

Is anyone else having issues generating a flightplan via simbrief lately? When I click generate OFP and it takes me to the page where it loads the flight plan, the majority of the time the page comes up blanks and says "This page is having a problem loading". I'll keep trying and eventually it will generate but this has been happening for a few weeks now. Any info?

Hi Dave, I recently tried to make a short VFR flightplan in France. Auto plan did it all very well between departure and arrival airports. I could also add waypoints. But if I change altitude of several waypoints, any "validate" or "save" actions resulted in deleting the entire flightplan. Is that normal ? Did I mess something ? Thank you Giovanni

  9. I have a small question about the procedure turns 45°/180° , when we start timer(cat A/B 1 min, C/D/E 1 min 15 s.): at the time of the lapel on course 45 or after leveling( after roll-out) on this course?

  10. G'day everyone, I'm wondering if anybody can advise me on the best way to keep have multiple planning apps as well as P3D using the same data for airways, waypoints, frequencies etc. I use P3D as my sim, Little Navmap for flight planning and Pilot2ATC for air traffic. They all seem to have slight variations on nav data and other things. It's not a huge issue but it would be nice to have them all singing from the same sheet. Cheers Warwick

Is there a program for figuring out the SEL temp anymore? I think TOPCAT is dead. Has anything replaced it??

Support by Christian Grill to PFPX appears to be completely inactive. No future development plans have been announced.☹️ May we have an update by AVSIM about why they continue to list PFPX as an available product without there being any product support for it (other than by Steven Cooke)?

  13. Hi All, I am trying to find high performance airplanes or business jets that use the latest AIRAC cycle or can be updated in their navigation systems? I have been looking at different airplanes but it is hard to determine which ones use the latest updates or are update-able? I know that several of the airlines can be update-able, but am looking for smaller aircraft so I can practice SIDs and STARs for IFR training. Also, which navigation systems are the easiest to use and/or program? Thanks so much, Kent.

I have troubles understanding t/o performance calculations when it comes to derates and assumed temperatures. I use PMDG 737 and their manuals which are pretty much copy-paste Boeing's FCOMs. Example: TODA = 2000m Wind: calm Slope =0% Airport elevation = 0ft Runway: DRY Temp = 12C ----------------- Flaps: 5 Let Assumed temp be 42C and 22K derate This is how I do it: In FCOM vol 1 I go to page PD.30.1 because of the wind strength and 0% slope TODA = corrected field length on PD.30.2 I can see Field Limit Weight of 64.4t (no derates and assumed temp included into calculations? correct me if I'm wrong) on PI.30.38 I get N1 = 91,7% From her…

  16. So, starting to poke around in civilian aviation flight sims, and have a wild hair to do a mostly VFR virtual Grand Tour around the world. What I'm wondering about is, how does one go about setting up flight plans for that sort of thing? Finding maps, airports in the intended region, planning flight paths, divert locations, etc etc etc? I'm not at the stage that I'm planning on doing this with air traffic control, just solo flying for now, but there's still plenty of whale to digest without that. I've done basic E6B calculations and nav in the WWII era sims I normally play, and want to expand on that for this crazy. Thank you, Harry Voyager

I have decided that I would like to switch to the BAW (cirrus) specific OFP format on simbrief to change things up a little. I was hoping that you could help me to decipher everything highlighted in yellow. For some context: LFOT is my C1 alternate for this test flight. When replying, reference the number above the image (not the OFP page number) and then the queried data. I have also attached the standard LIDO equivalent to help. I know what things like ATD are but have highlighted the whole line because the order of presentation is odd. I also suspect that PL is the passenger load (113 PAX * 100kg?) As always, any help is appreciated. 1. 2. …

In the past I've ignored the Climb, Cruise, and Descent profiles in the SimBrief flight planning section, but figure it is now time to learn what they mean. Playing with the E145, it lists a Climb Profile of 240/270/56 and a Descent Profile of 78/310/240. Could someone explain what the three numbers mean? Also, and this is probably more aircraft specific, but there are multiple cruise options. I would assume that the modeled FMC has to be able to accept the options to use them? Thanks, Ernie

Trying to figure out the export path for the Carenado ATR 72-500 from SimBrief. If not possible to export does a add on GPS such as the GTN 750 need to be purchased for this aircraft? Thank You.

This may seem as an odd question. Is it possible in any GPS setup (standard or payware) to make a circular flightplan (or hold) using custom waypoints? The circle would probably be anywhere from 1-3 miles in diameter (or racetrack length). This could either be a full circle or racetrack hold. Thanks Michael

Hello, It has been a very good idea to create flight plans having flightgear format but now I guess it is possible to activate a connection between LNM and FG. Perhaps a specific file is to be added in FG directories ? In the manual there is only (or I have not found) a description of what to do for FSX/P3D, XP and a remote simulator. What is the solution ? Thank you very much for explanations. Best regards gerod

Hello, I just installed LittleNavMap 2.2.4 and I also have installed the "all10g" browser. Everything looks like OK as I have the message "Directory and files are valid" int he box "Use offline GLOBE elevation data". Then I don't understand why I still have the red message "cannot calculate top of climb or top of descent". In the previous version I used these calculations were done without error messages. Thank you very much for explaining what I did wrong or what I missed. Best regards gerod

  25. Hi, I’ve had quite challenging approaches in this area: 1S2 : Darrington Municipal airport. This is an unattended airfield with no approach plates and no indications. It’s at a 553ft elevation and completely surrounded by high mountains. I believe that the only informations you can get are from this VFR chart. When planning an IFR to VFR approach to this airport, I had to transition from FL013. I found it very hard to find a way through the mountains. Best bet was to follow the river, but it all felt a bit risky. Do you have any tips for this kind of challenging routes?
