So I won't step climb if it's not scheduled in the F-PLAN in a narrow body generally, since it's very easy to exceed the MLW in some heavy load flight scenario, then I'll have to descend sooner to burn the fuel I saved, so that doesn't make any sense in most of the time. But when comes to wide body, it's something completely different, 'cause I won't use all the capability of the plane in most of my wide body flight, so even if I step climbed to save some fuel , it won't exceed the MLW, but this caused bias against the F-PLAN, so I don't know if it's right to do so. Example in the Pic.

I have three issues all focusing on England and flight plans. 1. I am trying to load a flight plan where the starting airport is in England, but the FS2004 Flight Planner will not load it. It will load flight plans when the starting airport is outside of England, for example in Germany. I have created these flight plans using Plan-G. 2. Furthermore, when I try to create a flight plan using the FS2004 Flight Planner, I cannot SAVE the flight plan when the starting airport is in England. 3. I created a flight plan, again using Plan-G where the starting airport was in Germany and it terminated in England. About half way through that flight my FS2004 CTD. I lo…

Hey everyone, I've been working on a free web tool called SimLetsFly and wanted to share it here for some feedback. The idea is simple — it's a random flight generator for sim pilots. You set your criteria (location, distance, airport size, runway type, fuel, nav aids) and it finds you a random departure and arrival pairing you'd never think to plan yourself. Great for bush flying, airline ops, GA — whatever you fly. SimLetsFly is not a full flight planner — once you have your airports, use your simulator or preferred tools to plan the actual route (VFR/IFR, SID/STAR, etc). Think of it as your destination picker. What it does: Filters by continent/count…

I posted this on the Navigraph forum also ... my post is not intended to ruffle feathers, I think Navigraph and SimBrief are EXCELLENT tools and worth every penny. Maybe my use case is just not correct? BUT, I don't understand why we have two separate tools and VERY clunky interaction between them ... copy and paste? My adventure with these two tools and my approach just seems not very efficient with redundant data entry: Do my route planning in Navigraph Charts on my iPad Build a route in Navigraph Charts on my iPad On my Flight Sim PC, open Navigraph website and load the flight plan I created on my iPad On my Flight Sim PC, use Nav…

Hi All Apologies if this has been asked before. I am used to being able to load my LNM flight plans directly into the PMDG Boeing aircraft by saving them into the flightplan file in the aircraft's config directory. I am new to the Fenix world. I have seen the fact that you can use Simbrief flight Plans with the Airbus series. I can see also that one can save LNM flight plans into Simbrief. However, I wanted to check whether one can load LNM flight plans directly into the Fenix Airbus? Thanks in advance

I'm trying to figure out the correct data to enter into the FMC using default values for payload on the PMDG 737-800 flying a very short test route from KSFO to KSJC. I used simbrief and generated a route: ROUTE ID: DEFRTE KSFO/28R DCT HEMAN DCT ROKME DCT MUSSK DCT KSJC/30L Where do I find info for the items circled below in the simbrief file?

In GA, how does one navigate to a VOR blocked by terrain behind a departure runway? Using the GNS 530, should I just use GPS mode and hand fly to the VOR?

Hello everyone, first I want to mention that I generate my flight plans using the AH2 add-on; and I recently got a job in a mountainous area. I'm creating the flight plan with the Little NavMap add-on. After adjusting the east/west IFR/VFR rules, the add-on suggests flying at 13,500 ft. What's the problem with that altitude? Well, I would be flying a route in Air Class A (Little NavMap tells me this area starts from 11,500 ft to 24,000 ft), and that would be prohibited under the VFR flight plan. Now, the navigation charts for the VFR departure have the last waypoint at an altitude of 11,000 ft. This waypoint is close to other VFR departure waypoints from an…

I'm using a tall mountain in the far distance as a marker for when to make a turn. As soon as it disappears from a side window in the cockpit I know it's time to make a turn. Is there a map that shows mountains and how high they are?

How can I delay contacting air traffic control for clearance? I want to be able to connect the ground power unit and make the necessary adjustments before requesting clearance from ATC, and therefore not contact ATC as soon as the ground power unit is connected. Is there a way to do that in the settings? Thank you very much for your help. J

Hello all, I know there were some profiles made by Jon at Airlinerperformance a while back for the A321 Neo + A321 Neo LR, as well as the A320/21 CEO sharklets. If anyone has these profiles - I would be extermely grateful!! Unfortunately, they are impossible to get hold of now elsewhere, so I am hoping some chaps here might them. Cheers, Rudy

I have this question: in the image, the yellow box shows the aircraft's fuel consumption per pound, with the settings shown in the blue box. Now, the question is whether the data in the yellow box and blue box, ‘140’, is the value that should be reflected in the ‘fuel flow’ indicator on the dashboard.

It turns out that my flights have been in calm weather conditions, with no wind; now I want to make it a little more difficult by adding weather conditions. I would like to know how the process would work, and I will give an example: 1. Planned route as shown in the image: 2. In terms of weather conditions, we have: - Wind speed: 30 knots - Wind direction: 360° So, I would think that I will have a crosswind or sidewind (I think that's what it's called), but I don't know if at any point it will be a tailwind or headwind. That's what I would need to learn. I know that if the wind were headwind, 30 knots would be subtracted from the cr…

Hi all, I’ve been experimenting with ways to add more of the crew/ops side before starting a flight — not just weather and routing, but the kind of details real crews look at or brief before pushback. I ended up building a small web-based tool for myself (crew-room.com) to play with those ideas. It’s not commercial or anything, and I’ve set limits so it won’t burn to much LLM credits if people take a look. If anyone’s into that kind of preflight context or immersion, I’d love to hear how you approach it. Also feedbacks for my webapp are appreciated 🙂

Not sure what I've done but my Littlenavmap flight plans no longer populate in either X-plane 11/12. It's worked in the past. I've got a number of plans already recognized in my sims Garmin 530 avionics but for some unknown reason any new plans I save and export via "Export Flight Plan FMS for X-Plane 11 and 12" aren't working. I've tried other paths: LNMPN, Multiexport variations, etc... I've tried adding "FMS plans" to 11/12 files (see below). Basically I'm going in circles now and wondering if it might be best to delete LNMap and just reinstall. Thoughts? Where should those files be? C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\X-Plane 11 C:\Program F…

Using the online weather option I am not getting any METARs. SIGMETs and wind data are up to date so it seems a little strange that just the METARs are not updating (the last METARs are from the 16th). For any of the few that are still using PFPX online weather is this affecting you too? Jonathan

I have a question: What do you do (as realistically as possible) when you want to fly IFR and the airport doesn't have instrument charts (no SID, no approach, etc.) and you're flying VFR, but the weather conditions aren't helping. 1. Is it possible in real life to depart VFR while intercepting an airway and then begin instrument flight from there? 2. What happens if it's the other way around, departing from an airport with instrument charts, but the arrival doesn't have instrument charts?

These are my questions: 1. I understand that you need to have the following values: distance in NM, time in hours, and speed in knots. The aircraft performance tables show speed in the following format: “TAS MPH.” Do I need to convert this to knots, or can I work with this value as well? 2. When the planned altitude is not reflected in the performance tables, for example, the flight plan is to be carried out at an altitude of 13,500 ft and the tables are 12,500 ft and then go to 15,000 ft, what do you do in that case? Hello, fellow pilots! My name is Svyatoslav, and I'm just beginning my journey into flight simulation, specifically within the VATSIM network. My main goal is to learn how to fly as realistically and correctly as possible, so I can feel confident in any airport and under any conditions. I understand this is a long and challenging path, so I'd like to ask for help from more experienced members of the community. I'm particularly interested in the following: Theory: What books, manuals, or online courses would you suggest for a deep dive into the fundamentals? What are the most important things to know? (For example, flight manuals, FMS principles,…

I'm trying to find the realistic route for Chicago to Brussels in the late 60's. The flight I'm thinking of which I took as a kid was usually Chicago to (or New York to) Iceland to Amsterdam to Brussels. Simbrief is not being very helpful in planning a VOR route from Chicago to Iceland. Any sites out there with a realistic old route plan?

Does anyone know ho to reactivate TOPCAT now that server is out of order? I got this message: An unknown error occurred during Product activation: wrong server response. Please contact [email protected] But flightsimsoft.com and topcatsim.com are "under costruction" or down. I activated PFPX without issues but not TOPCAT. Any help or ideas?
