Hi everyone! Novice here. I'm wondering if I completely setting up a STAR and APPROACH incorrectly. I used Simbrief to come up with an IFR route from KLGA to KORD. This is what I got: COATE Q436 EMMMA WYNDE2 So WYNDE2 is the STAR and EMMMA is the approach right? But when I plug in this info into Navigraph Charts for an ILS RWY 28C with the VOGLR transition, it gives me this zig zag: My screenshot https://flic.kr/p/2oiawEX It looks wrong to me and I figured that I'd get something that looks close to direct. Did I do something wrong? TIA, Will

We’re excited to announce the release of a new dispatch interface in SimBrief! SimBrief was originally released in 2013, and since then the user interface has only seen minor incremental changes. The dispatch interface has now gotten a complete redesign with a more modern look and feel, along with additional improvements and new features, such as: The interface adjusting to any screen size Dark mode and large text options Adding comments or notes when saving your flight The ability to share your flight options with another user …

I know of SIDS and STARS but Transitions confuse me. Is a Transition the last waypoint of a SID and is a Transition the first waypoint of a STAR?

Embarrassed to say that I can't get the exported flight plan file to work in MSFS2020. I reread the help file, studied the tutorial in it, and tried a number of things including changing the file extension, but I cannot see my flight plan file with MSFS2020. When I change the file extension I can see the flight plan file, but MSFS2020 doesn't seem to do anything with it when told to load it. It's as-if I hadn't clicked on it.

I've been using actual flight plans published by FlightAware for overseas flights. Most the information, way points etc. I understand but recently I've run across tags that I don't understand. For instance: N0445F330 CORRS Y81 GEMAC is the beginning of an Air New Zealand flight from Melbourne to AUckland. CORRS is the departure from Melbourne followed by the airway Y81, etc. What does N0445F330 stand for? Thanks for an information. Jim Driskell

So I mainly use Sim Brief to plan my flights and use AS for my weather. One thing I always have trouble with is knowing what altitude is best to fly at based on winds and turbulence. I mainly just use the recommended altitude from the FMC which might mean I encounter some bumps. I mainly use live weather, but will sometimes use custom or historical weather. So is there an easy way to see what the winds and turbulence are like at specific altitudes. I'm trying to learn how to read weather maps, but I'm still so confused. I mostly know what symbols mean, but I don't know how to relate that to what my route should be and what weather I need to avoid. Thanks

Hi, I saw a posting about new maps (sectionals, VFR and Low IFR) available for Little Navmap. I believe they are for MSFS. Are these maps (by Bina?) also available for XP11 users? Thank you.

I have had to move MSFS to a larger HDD (D:\) now the aircraft will not move along the FP. I think the Littlenavmap cannot now find the information. The connection is showing as connected but the aircraft fails to move after takeoff. Can enyone please tell me how to correct this. Thanks.

I needed an older version of AIFP for some flight plan revisions I was doing and was able to download AIFP 2.121 from the library. It worked for my purposes, but I'm discovering a lot of issues with it when creating new flight plans. I'm looking for a Version 3.x that is pre-P3D5/MSFS and was hoping someone here might be the type to archive versions. Unfortunately, at least for my needs, only the latest is available on Stuff4FS. Thanks, Ernie

Hi All. I frequently fly out of EGCC (Manchester) using the Listo SID. The Listo departure(s) holds you at 5000 ft until reaching the waypoint "Listo". The transition alt for EGCC is also 5000ft. When would I be expected to set to standard pressure? Should I wait until above 5000ft ...or at reaching 5000ft? If there is a great difference in pressure, if I select standard at 5000, it could alter my altitude by a few hundred feet.. I have been doing this in the sim for many years, but never sure what is the correct procedure. Thanks if you could clear this up for me.

Hello everybody. hope I'm posting in the right section. I was planning a flight, VFR, to MROC-Juan Santamaria INTL. I opened Navigraph charts, Visual Corridor West Sector map. First time i see an approach chart that way, and i am having troubles reading/understanding it. It is a visual approach, but instead of giving me visual references, reporting points on the ground, it gives waypoints with gps coords, or VOR/DME wayponts/distances. How does it works in real life? How to read it? If it is not against the forum rules, I will post the chart. Thanks for your help.

I am using the JF BAE 146 FMC, which I understand uses the MSFS default unit for navigation. I am not sure if the issue that I am encountering is due to my ignorance regarding proper importing of a flight plan, or it's specific to the BAE unit. Whenever I create an IFR flight plan using either Little Navmap or MSFS default planner and add procedures to the flight plan, the FMC creates some courses that do not correspond to the courses in the flight plan. For example, a procedure may have a 270 degrees course showing on the map, but the FMC leg is showing 90 degrees, which of course steers the aircraft away from the planned course. So I have been seeing is that in a t…

Probably finger trouble on my part - or an unreasonable expectation. When setting up a FlightPlan within Little NavMap around airport SAWL (Tolhuin largo Fagnano). There seems to a 900 ft difference between the online profile elevation vs the contents of the (NOAA) all10g.zip. I assume the NOAA data is correct - but I think it means that msfs & NapMap profiles are in error? A flight plan to TOD visually highlight the issue (part of the chile bush trips).

I placed the following on Orbx but without any real Success - Maybe someone here can help?? I like to use a combination of The flight planning tool in the sim with Little Map - ie LP first and transfer to MSFS Sometimes - after transfer - the MSFS has a different approach set up - and this is the plan laid in the A/c's FMS What I find annoying is that once we have the A/c set to Fly - if one wishes to access the MSFS plan - I have to go through the whole process of setting up the plan again - because I cannot find a way to access it once the A/c is "Set to fly" Anybody know of a Quick Access back to the Plan

Good day. I normally build my flight plans using Simbrief and they offer various formats to download, i.e. for MSFS and PMDG. What are the benefits of installing these plans into both your simulator AND FMC of chosen vehicle? The FMC is obvious, but why the simulator aswell? My guess is ATC? Regards.

I have come to the realization that to accurately fly A320 and 737NG I need airport charts. So I know what departure to select etc and so that I can program the FMC. Now everywhere I go I see Navigraph. Is there anything else which is less than the $8 per month? I don't care about getting the latest charts. I am only simming and not flying in real life - an older one would be fine. I tried googling but could never really find a good chart for free. The resolution would always be bad and hard to the chart hard to read.

Hi guys, does anyone uses Foreflight Trip Assistant? I found this feature to be pretty amazing and very helpful. If you fly long hauls on a general aviation aircraft or commercial i found this feature to be very helpful. I've always wish for and app that calculates fuel stops best for you. For example pushing at A320 or 737 to fly around the world and having this feature recommends you where to stop for fuel. I've use several flight planning apps in the past but always found this feature to be missing. I don't know if pfpx has this fuel stops calculation feature ,but if it did i would find it to be amazing. If anyone care to share your thoughts on this. Also if you have a…

Greetings everyone I want to take my Cessna 152 from and to the above airports. Is anyone able to offer a proper RW flight plan based on the limitations of this aircraft? Presumably I take off and head down the sound towards the sea and fly North up the coast but how to approach Glentanner correctly avoiding Mt Cook? I note that Glentanner has instrument procedures in place, according to SkyVector. I could turn North up the valley immediately after take off but I'm not sure the aeroplane has climbing capabilities to negotiate the rapid climbing required, let alone anticipated turbulence! It's doing my head in. Can any pilots familiar with this area kindly a…

Im looking at the winds aloft for some airports. One gave an actual of 184 @07 and the aloft (3000ft) at 240@21 with following readings of a few degrees and speeds higher (and clockwise) than the previous ones. Questions are: is the 0-3000ft difference THAT different-it seems a big change for just 3000ft. Does FSX:SE actually use the winds aloft data?? Should I be using something more modern for my weather (build 5870)?? Cheers

I just flew this flightplan from Simbrief (Seattle to Klamath Falls): KSEA J65 LMT KLMT using ILS32. Could someone perhaps fly this in the FBW A320 and tell me what I am doing wrong with the flightplan? The a/c crosses LMT and flies an outbound course to the OM. The path indicates a right turn teardrop-shape to make the turn to come back around to intercept the localizer. But the a/c crosses the OM and continues straight. I see this is a DME arc approach, but then why did Simbrief translate this to the flightplan without using the appropriate IAFs for this approach, which are either MUREX or TULIP? Can someone explain what is going on here with Simbrief/the MCDU/a…

G'day guys, Hope you can help me - long time flight-simmer here - FS98 was my first 😉 I also play the naval game, Dangerous Waters, and in it, it's possible to mark military ranges/airspace using a 'line marking' program (enter the coordinates, it makes a line) I've made a few maps around the world, and wanted to make one using the west coast of Honshu, Japan (the coastline around Tokyo) I've found a few of the training ranges from sailing guides on the net - such as the the Sagami Bay Submarine Training Area - but can't find the coordinates for these sections of airspace: * R-116 * R-121 * R-599 You can see them marked on P.12 of t…

So I'm trying out Navigraph at the moment and I quite like it. It has a clean gui and I really love the SID/STAR overlay plotting on your map. I also had a look at Little Navmap that has his pro's too (It being free being a very big pro) but it's interface is less clean then Navigraph. I'm wondering what other people's experiences are with these two and if there are other reasons for me to stick to Navigraph instead of using Little Navmap
