I have a fault with activesky2012 and hifi says it's to do with a recent windows update that change the font of windows. I noticed before I had 3 FSX crashes that the numbers in the overhead panel were larger than usual. Could this lead to a crash?

Is there a way to filter airports that display on the ND, according to runway length? It's possible to do this with the PMDG 747, but I can't find anything in the 737 menu about it. The feature really helps reduce the clutter on the ND, especially at larger distance scales. Thanks.

Hi members In the 3D views, can the various wingview (views) be changed from the drop down menus at the top of the page to be activated by the numeric keypad. You could do it in FS9 with 1+5, 3+5 etc etc, but not seemingly in FSX Many thanks Paul

Hello all, I have rather a very strange problem with the pushback tug. Asking for a pushback via the FMC, I hear the usual dialog between captain and ground asking for releasing the brakes, and then when I do so, the tug comes and crashes on the aircraft! That happens only on my PMDG 737NGX. I try the same airport and the same gate (Aerosoft LSZH Gate E43) but with my PMDG MD-11 this time,and there is no problem at all! I tried another airport, Aerosoft EDDH with my PMDG 737NGX with the same results! After asking for pushback the tug comes and crashes on the aircraft! Same airport again with PMDG MD-11 and everything works fine What causes such a weird prob…

Hi. Almost every time I start my descent as programmed/calculated by the vnav, I end up way too high and/or too fast for my approach and I have to circle several times to set up for a stable approach and landing. I always have to use a lot of speedbrakes also. I know somebody will reply that I should input winds to the fmc as it matters if I have tailwind but the problem seems to be every time. And its not every time I have tailwind, sometimes headwind etc. Is the vertical flight path calculation realistic on the ngx? Any suggestions? My autothrottle seems to idle on the descent (it says "arm" and end up about 40% N1), that should be correct? Thank u!

I tend to fly short routes in the 700, so my longest flight is probably only 800nm or so (my typical distance is about 300nm). Just wondering what sort of distance others are travelling in the NGX (unmodified of course).... Especially interested in people who are flying it light & far... G

Hello everybody, I hope you can help me with a problem. Since a while I use the mcp & efis from opencockpits with the PMDG 737NGX. Today I bought the FMC from opencockpits, and downloaded RKsoftware to let it run. The FMC runs fine, however, the MCP and EFIS are useless. The EFIS isn't functioning at all, and the MCP shows wrong digits, and when pressing a button on the mcp, it is pressing a different button on the MCP on FSX. I think there is a problem with the scripts, but I cant figure out what it is. I'm running the ''OCP4NGX_MCP-EFIS-CDU v1.05.ssi'' by the way. Thanks in advance! Niels

I have pretty well got the hang of flying the NGX using the various navaids, using SIDS, STARS and Localizers and hand flying approaches and landings, but do not know how to set up and fly an RNAV approach from TOD to touchdown at a runway with no LOC freq as it should be done. Is there any tutorial on this procedure, specific to the 737NG and its FMC? Thanks,

The gist of an approach according to the FCOM is something like: Before IAF, set Flaps 5 At "glideslope alive", gear down and Flaps 15 Just prior to glideslope capture, set Flaps 30/40 What I find is that by the time I've completed these steps, the runway is generally still a ways out and since I'm slow and fully configured at glideslope capture, it takes some time to reach the runway. It feels like I'm configured too early compared to real-world ops. My question is -- how closely is the above procedure followed in real life? Hi, When I select "low resolution vc model" in the performance manager and select either the 600 or the 700 variant of the NGX, I get a lovely warning from FS stating that "the visual model could not be displayed" :( I have SP1b, does SP1c fix this? I heard it solves the wierd VC issue (related to low res vc option in livery manager as well) in the -900, but I don't really care for the -900 anyway. Does anyone want to try it and report back to me...? the -700 is my favorite 737 ! Thanks,

Hi all, nearing the end of a 737-900WL flight from URKK to UBBY I descended through the clouds and prepared to do a visual/manual landing as the FMC had no ILS record even though it was on the chart I had from Simplates. Everything fully stabilized except no ATC to get clearance when I got to DA..dang...no AIRPORT! well...seemed a shame to waste my REF speed cruise with flaps and gear down so i cruised around at 5000 using FSX nearest airport guide to get me to.....UB16...didnt spot it at first until passing over it I had the devilish urge to try a short field landing as I wasnt fuly loaded (6.4 fuel 11.1% payload). First time poster Been flying the ngx since this add-on was released and loving it. Just one thing that i have noticed and wanted a bit of clarification on is the fuel pumps. Ive noticed that the it doesn't matter if the fuel pump switches are on or off is this normal? Are the engines gravity fed but have pumps to make sure there is a good constant flow? I have noticed that if i for what ever reason have a fuel imbalance that i can open the cross feed and only use that pumps on the tank with more capacity but i can start and do an entire flight with them off and the engines still run fine. I know that the PMDG 737NG software of old, would connect with Squawkbox, and one could set the mode to Stby or "C" using the 737NG Radios Panel. You would not have to open Squawkbox in order to do so. I am currently using FSinn, and I have to change the transponder mode on the FSInn Control Panel. I like the realism of setting it on the Pedestal. I assume this was not modeled in the 737NGX? Stephen

Hi, I just bought the Emergency NGX expansionpack from FS2CREW which is great and i was looking in the FCOM (760/1035 section 32 and page 762/1035) to determine the minimum amount of runway to be used with a FLAPS 15 one engine INOP landing and was curious why the autobrakes is not mentioned on the none-normal page 762 but only on the normal landing distance page 760? So i am a little confused if and how far the autobrakes will be used allthough it is mention in the QRH. I read FLAPS30 with one engine is only for FAILOP although i dont know why but that is a nother matter :-) Thanks Michael Moe

Just reloaded 737NGX on my machine with a 4:3 Ratio CRT Monitor and have an old problem with the Front Panel too large for the scenery behind. Can not see runway on approach. FSX + FSX Acceleration. Have loaded latest patch 1.C. Have 'WideViewAspect=False in fsx.CFG. ' Have [VIEWS] VIEW_FORWARD_WINDOWS=MAIN_PANEL,MINIPANEL VIEW_FORWARD_DIR=5.5, 0.0, 0.0 VIEW_FORWARD_ZOOM=0.8 in panel.cfg file Can temporarily change view to correct position with Ctrl + Q. Hello all. I've been looking for workable solutions to this problem but nothing seems to fit or solve it, so I thought I'd best join in the discussion here. I've been encountering two endgame problems with the PMDG 737NGX: Freeze and CTD at random when pressing an LSK or RSK on the FMC Inability to load the flight once 'Fly Now' is selected - progress bar appears against the desktop rather than a black background and FSX then encounters a fatal error and closes. Through the Win7 Event Viewer I've found error messages relating to PMDG_737NGX.dll, and most troubleshoots for this I've seen involve an update to the DirectX runtime - however these have been fruitles…

-N307(An older 900 airframe), has eyebrows, honeywell MCP, No NPS,, analog stand-bys and NO fuel totalizer( as far as I know) The PMDG file has 307 with a collins, NO eyebrows, and the totalizer. Also, it has Callouts, which Alasjka Airlines NG are not equiped with. Perhaps it can be corrected??
