Captains-Now and then, those of us on the development team start to lament that "this development cycle feels like it is going on forever" or we start to lose perspective on just how incredible this simulation of the 737 truly is.After all, we have been spending 10-18hrs per day for months on end looking at the same details over and over. So much time in fact, that the details tend to fade to the background and we see only the things that we still feel need polish.During these periods, it isn't uncommon to see our Tech Team members step in with polite reminders that the NGX is simply an incredible simulation of the Boeing 737, and that you, our customers are going to be …

Hey guys I understand what lnav and vnav do but I wanted some clarification on the real world use of these systems. For example Say your flying a simple Rnav departure out of an airport. What would be the first autopilot system used according to real ng SOP's. What AP cmds need to be used at certain times. Something like that. I know a simple understanding of this kind of system but I would like to fly this plane like they do in real life. I am aware that most of airline flying is on lnav and vnav. However I want to know when is it an acceptable time to turn on and off certain functions and cmds. I would like to know the real world standard autopilot functions from leavin…

This question is not intended to create an A vs B debate (hopefully we are beyond that around here), but rather to try and understand the technical features of the B73NG that limit the NEO option in the future. While I fly and know stuff about a single engine light GA aircraft, I have no technical knowledge of the NG, nor any other aircraft in that class, so apologies for any implied lack of knowledge in this question. My understanding of the restrictions on NEO development in the NG is one of ground clearance of the wing. I assume that this is directly related to the main gear strut length, which in turn is limited to displacement from the fuselage center of the gear (t…

Dear (PMDG) people,I don't want to blame on you guys, I really do NOT want to complain... But is it possible to make a Royal Air Maroc (RAM) repaint? Because I'm here in Morocco and I thought it'll be nice to have that repaint with one of the most realistic aircrafts ever made....Thanks in advance!Nabil El Hamdaoui

Hifolks,Long time lurker, who just took the plunge and registered. Wanted to say hello, and start out with a joke - Since the question hasn't been asked recently, figured I'd kick it off, when will the NGX be available??!! Seriously, a bit about myself - I am currently a First Officer for a major USbased airline flying the 737NG, and certainly this add-on has got me intriguedto say the least... In fact, I just got done building a new sim platform to runFSX so I can put the PMDG product through its paces. Between trips and familyobligations, I'd be happy to answer any real-world questions that might come upon the 737NG. Cheers,737GuyKEWR

Something to distract us while we are waiting - please feel free to add your own.Product update December 21, 2014Source Precision Manuals Group (PMDG)Subject release of 737 NGXPMDG today announced the imminent release of the 737NGX. “I feel that we are very close now” said Managing director Robert Randazzo. “Since the programme went into wide Charlie in the middle of last year we have made significant progress on a few key features that have been holding us up for some time”. Asked to elaborate on what those problems might have been Mr Randazzo would only say that that certain difficulties with uneven light refraction from the inside one of the main wheels had plag…

Keep in mind that Boeing has cooperated with PMDG on real 737 data for the flight manuals. RSR has stated that he could have released the 737NGX earlier but wanted to present us with as cleanest product as possible. This is admirable and is reflected of his high standards. He has stated that the amount of amperage used has been modeled accurately out to 1/1000th of an amp, based on the airplane's certification data. He has said that The hydraulic Electric Motor Driven Pump (EMDP) consumes 7.824 amps of energy while running. But, if fails or is shut down, the energy consumption increases by 4.3amps to a total of 12.124 amps. This is remarkable detail but I think would be i…

Good Day everyone,I understand PMDG are presently producing 2 x Tuturiols, based on the STARS ( LOWI & KLAX ) which were mentioned in earlier thread & excellent choice too I think! Will you be including some worked examples on a Take Off Performance Calculations including a Assumed TemperatureCalcs, or is this included in the Performance Documentation which I presumme will come with the A/C.I have purchased the Captain's Manuals set, but to make use of all the data is a bit daunting.A worked example on Assumed Temp & other relevent Take Off & Approach Landing Set Ups would be great & apprciated.RegardsStewart Thompson

Hi, While the 737 NGX is going to be my first purchase of a PMDG product I'd like to ask something on the printed manuals: The content of them will be exactly the same of the digital manuals that are going to be dispatched with the software? Is it going to be any restricion on printing the pdf manuals? Any discount on the printed manuals when buying the software? or on the software after buying the manuals? I'm not very keen on printing but studying and checking 1000+ pages can be quite uncomfortable on screen...Thanks in advance for the answer(s)

G'Day allI have no experience in the mater, but is it possible to have a fully functional 737 in FS without a visual model? What I’m trying to ask is would there be any performance increase in the VC if there was no exterior model to load? Or does the exterior model vanish from FS when you in the 2D/VC anyway?I got the idea when reading another post where someone mentioned that they couldn’t care less about the "outside" model.
